HCG's and Gender?

Re: HCG's and Gender?

  • I personally enjoy using words specifically for their meaning. English is cool like that!

Whaaaaat? I thought freedom of speech in 'Murica means I can pick my own meaning of words. I've decided that "bullying" and "unicorns farting" are interchangeable, so you'd better not tell me they mean different things.
Well if murica means you get to pick your own gender, I guess I can pick meanings to words.

  • So here's the thing...I am a Christian and do not believe that gender is something someone gets to choose. HOWEVER, I do know that it a huge issue on the bump (and in society in general) that people have very differing ideals on so I use the word sex because it is also appropriate. I do not see it as "giving in" to something I don't believe it, but being sensitive to others while I still keep integrity with what I believe. OP, I get where you are coming from but there is a classy and tactful way to do it. You will only make enemies responding as you did. That's not to say I haven't thrown my own hissy fits, but I do it in privacy to my DH. Honestly, as a Christian my views are often not the norm. Society tells us we're free to believe what we want, yet when I voice my opinions (and not in an attack towards those that believe differently) I get called a bigot. So I have learned to be tactful without compromising myself. There are people (on both sides of this disagreement) that could learn to do the same.

OMG ! I love everything you said right here ! I don't believe you can choose either but I'm definitely not going to knock the people that do believe that. That's the beauty of it all..we can have our own opinions !
  • LISTEN I am a well educated woman, I know what the difference is. Although terms have separate definitions the two words are and can be interchangeable. It's not an offensive term!!! I FREAKING get it!!!! I am not a idiot!! It was supposed to be a fun post, but of course that's not "bump style" is it?!?

It amazes me because the people who get offended by it are also the people who buy "gender specific" clothing for their babies just as well as the rest of us.
@hazel14rich I'm curious as to how you know the shopping habits of these people. Are you keeping track on some sort of spreadsheet? That sounds really labor intensive. I can't even remember who's who half the time yet you seem to know what everyone's buying. Impressive. And creepy.
Aaaand you must be an example of what I'm talking about.

@didi0308 ummm when did I fly off the handle or attack anyone. I am simply defending myself. Not an unheard of idea in most communities. I'm not strange, I'm not calling names, or having a hissy fit. I am certainly not apologizing... @queenwardolf4 uhh I only mentioned you once? Not sure that warrants a meme about obesession, but ok... You insinuated I was was an uneducated novice when it comes to the words gender and sex. I'm not!

In the internet world, typing in all caps is considered yelling. Which you did. Unprovoked. So that would actually be you flying off the handle or as I put it, throwing a hissy fit. If you're going to participate in online communities, you need to be aware of how you write (and not just what you write) will be perceived.

Eta: in a later post you included some things you went through and while very unrelated to the turn this post went, I wanted to say I am sorry that those are experience you have had. No one should have to experience an illness like that.

@hazel14rich I am sorry that you are so intolerant of others and can't support the transgender community. I hope that you never have to come across someone in your life that needs your support on this topic. I hope your baby girls decide their gender is female and I hope your baby boys decide their gender is male. If not, i pray that they have someone else in their life to love and accept them other than you. People are dying. This is not something to be joked about.

Not once did I say that I was unsupportive of anything. You don't know anything about me. And I will love my children no matter what they decide to do with their lives. What irritates me Is closed minded people that get "offended" by literally everything. I have never been "offended" in my life. Because I control my emotions. If you don't like someone who feels differently then you, suck it up. Were all entitled to our own opinions. And have the right to voice that opinion.
  • Lol I think it's hilarious yall just keep going at her. Like why? Oh no she did all caps and yelled! If she's being defensive, what are yall doing? Looks like being just as defensive.
Okay I'm done. My entertainment for the day.
  • Indeed I am ;;)

You must love just building other women up and not at all look for any reason to be negative.

@smithers01 I must compliment you on your usage of exclamation points, the word "like" and "lol" you must be a blast to have a conversation with in real life.

You must have a fun life. So fun that you resort to picking on people for how they talk.
  • @smithers01 they aren't even worth it, girl.

Oh I know. I'm not worried about someone like that. A woman who has to talk about another woman negatively is obviously insecure. Thank you though
    :x
  • @didi0308 no reason to be so nasty to @smithers01 . She was just stating that you guys are all over the OP over being defensive but you all are acting just as crazy about it. It's a dead topic already. Seriously. I don't think the OP meant to offend anyone. Sex and gender have most certainly been used interchangeably for years. We can not cater out lives to every single individual who may consider something offensive. No one should have to feel guilty for using those words interchangeably. This is just ridiculous already. You all can just agree to disagree and be on your way. It's really not the end of the world.

In sorry that you are all defending intolerance.

This is what is wrong with this world. This is why people are ending their own lives.

Bye now! Hope all of your children's genders match their sex! If not, I hope they have others to support them.

How bout you leave peoples children out of this conversation before it gets REAL UGLY.

    Who says stuff like that?
"Girl, you wish you could live my life"
Bahaha ! Oh yes let me live that life of talking down to others behind a phone or keyboard! Sounds like you've got it made.
    :-q

Isn't that exactly what you're doing?
Nope not at all. I haven't said one thing personal towards anyone.
Now excuse me while I go enjoy this delicious baskin Robbins chocolate chip ice cream.
    Good day.

This is about people's children @hazel14rich People's children are killing themselves because of intolerant people like yourself and others on this thread. This is a very threatening comment though. I. Am. So. Scared.

How about you take a break. You seem to take all of this incredibly personally and don't seem to be able to temper yourself accordingly. You might need to cool off a little.
And why are you still talking to me? I haven't paid you any attention yet you continue.
