This is our second and a surprise so I just blurted it out to my mom (who happened to be visiting us for the week). We called my MIL too, since DH is so touchy about needing his mother to know if my mother knows...We might wait a little to share with our siblings since I had an ectopic pregnancy before and we just want to wait until after the next ultrasound. I think I'm still a little in shock!!!
It's our first baby. Nicknamed her Ziggy (Zygote) ... No clue how to announce it to family. My mom and dad aren't together. I took three pregnancy tests so I might give one to each? Is that gross?
Lol yes, that's something you peed on. Maybe a #1 grandma/grandpa coffe mug, an ultrasound pic once you get one, or maybe just telling them. They'll be excited for you, you don't necessarily have to tell them with a gift.
We got two puppies the day after we found out I was pregnant. Our plan is to get a pic of the puppies between two pieces of paper. First will say "Baby Guard Dogs In Training" and the second "Expected Start Date: March 11, 2016"
For DS, we gave our parents our favorite childhood books and wrote inside them "Dear Grandma and Grandpa, Please read this to me in August 2013. Love, Baby P" They were so surprised. My MIL didn't even notice the writing, she just started reading the book out loud because it was her favorite book to read to DH when he was little. We had to tell her to go back and read from the very first page! haha
This time, I think we'll announce at DS's birthday party on 8/15. We're gonna take a group picture of all the guests and say, "Everyone say, 'K's pregnant!" Hopefully we'll get some good reaction shots!
We're telling our immediate family when we all get together to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. I'm making homemade cards for everyone that will have photos inside. Some photos include ultrasound pic, a pic of our dog in a "big sister" shirt, our feet/shoes lined up with baby shoes, a pic of us with a onsie with "baby S due March 2016" on it....just to list a few. Each card will be special for each person. I also made a onsie outfit for my 5month old neice to wear that says "this little monkey is going to be a big cousin" so excited to tell everyone in a couple weeks!

My DS has a birthday on 8/14 and I was thinking of wrapping up new baby/big brother kids books for him to open along with his other gifts...but not sure I am ready to announce yet. He will have annual photos taken soon, so I might just get some shots of him reading the books and then use the photos to announce on FB when we are ready.
My father in-law wanted a list of my kids birthdays(we have 4). So we sent him the list with the kids bdays numbered 1-4, and we put #5 around March of 2016. He was thrilled! For my mil we sent the picture of positive pregnancy test. We kept it simple.
My hubby's bday is coming and we thought to have the close family come. When it's time for the cake I would bring it out and on the cake it would say happy birthday daddy. Then watch everyone's faces.
@bntfroggie I love the fall too. I saw a pregnancy announcement that said "We are adding another little pumpkin to our patch" (it was a 2nd child). If you do Halloween I saw one that said, "We promise it's not a trick! Our little treat is due ...." Another one said "Pumpkin and Leaves and no more sleep!" That rhyme felt a little off to me. Can you tell I also have a possible pumpkin theme going on?
I do digital scrapbooking. I realize I'm not the most creative when it comes to layouts...
I plan on telling my best friend with the 1st picture attached to a container of cupcakes.
I want to wait to announce my pregnancy to the social media world until after the anatomical scan which may be right before Halloween or right after. So if it's in early November I was thinking of using the second picture. Too corny?
We have 2 cats and 2 dogs. I took pictures of each of them and made a digital photo with little thought bubbles: "as long as it pets me," "does it squeak," "a new minion to do my bidding," and "you have a what? Where?." After we get our u/s I'm going to take a picture of dh and myself with the u/s in the thought bubble. The caption says: "So much to think about between now and March 2016." DH would have announced already if I had given him the OK - so we compromised on waiting until after the u/s at 9 weeks. Though, our close friends and family already know. It's amazing how many "close friends" he came up with when he wanted to tell people, lol.
My husband does woodworking in his spare time. We just told our "adopted parents" (we're far from both families, and they're a really sweet couple that we've become good friends with) by telling them his next project was going to be cradle.

Both pics are very cute! The first one should say "If I'm..." or "If I am..." Just wanted to point that out before you officially share! Sorry: English teacher.

How funny! We are doing the same thing for my hubby's birthday Labor Day weekend.
With my first two pregnancies I just told people, but this one we did a couple things. For the paternal grandparents we told the our youngest had a surprise for them and he came in wearing a "big bro" shirt. For my family we had a big BBQ and took a family photo. After a few photos instead of my friend(the photographer) saying "cheese" she said "guess who's pregnant again" and then she continued taking photos. It was pretty funny. With faraway friends and family we did FaceTime with the big brother shirt.

We are going to tell our three year old just before going to my parents' house for the weekend so that she's really excited. I think we can count on our very verbal little girl to make the announcement entertaining and adorable for us. Might record it for the fb audience later on.
We announced to our parents with mugs that said "grandma est. March 2016" it took both sets of parents about 10 minutes to pick up on it! For the rest of the world we took this picture!
This is what we did for #3 (picture). I've been playing with the idea of doing pictures as a play on song lyrics for this announcement. I'm sure my older two would love a Frozen parody: "Let it show, let it show! Can't hide the bump anymore. Let it show, let it show! We're having baby number four!" We'll see if that idea becomes a reality.. Haha
Pretty sure this is what we're doing. I nicknamed myself "Pregosaurus" last go around so I want to use it. Plus my son has so many dinosaurs. And yep, I blanked out my last name because stranger danger

Since my family and friends are big Disney fans, we're going to take a picture of our Mickey ears (my brother works at Disneyland and is sending a pair for baby#2) and have it captioned new Mouseketeer coming March 2016, we'll announce it after DS birthday mid September
Don't want to seem selfish, but I thought I'd post our announcement video on this thread as well as the other announcement thread... I hope you like it!
