Crib Conundrum

Hey guys! So some coworkers were amazingly nice and gave me their old crib that's in great condition. We picked it up today with all the hardware, but unfortunately no instructions. My husband is having a little bit of difficulty putting it together, and frankly I want confirmation that it's done right. That being said I've been googling the model/item number (343-8142-0018 for anyone else who is bored and wants to give it a crack- by JCPenney.) as well as the serial number (0924657) and I can't find a thing! That being said all the old links we have fishing around here or Baby center with sites that you can input this info have long since died.

Any suggestions or ideas of where to go next? It's an older crib 2010 but like I said I really don't want to give it up, it's in wonderful condition and there doesn't appear to be any recalls near it as it's not a drop down.

Hmmmmmmm...

Re: Crib Conundrum

  • Could you maybe take some pictures of the crib with the assembly your husband did complete and ask your coworker to take a peak to see if it looks right.
Or go look at cribs at jp penny (or other stores) and see if they have one that looks like it has similar pieces, then Google the owner manual for that crib.

  • Can you YouTube it? Call JCPenney and ask for assistance?

  • Or try calling the manufacturer.  I am sure they still have the original instructions around somewhere.

  • What's the name of the crib? I tried searching JCPenney for the model/serial number and didn't find anything.

  • Not a clue what the name is, that's the problem. Youtubing I didn't think of- awesome! Next step is to definitely call; I'm curious though as to how helpful they are going to be or if they'll talk with me like I have 16 heads. So far looking online we haven't been able to find the exact crib yet, but will definitely keep looking and try to see what else I can get out of my coworker in the mean time.

    Great suggestions guys!
  • Follow up: Called JCPenney, sent through 3 different departments, all no luck. Back to the drawing board!

    Found this: www.saferproducts.gov/viewincident/1483216

This came up when I typed "crib 0924657" in bing search.
    In the product detail:
The name of crib is "Rockland Convertible Crib in Coffee"
Manufacturer: Nan Far Woodworking Co, Ltd.
    Brand: Rockland by JCPenney

    Sounds right?

ETA: This is a 2011 model I would assume based off what I found in this report.

Excellent find @turkeybabt! Unfortunately this is not the crib, as ours has solid sides and is not a convertible. The model year says 2010 but my coworker bought it in 2013. Excellent though! Time to start looking through Rockland cribs!

Edit: You were totally right: it's called the Rockland Tucson Crib; now attempting to get the manual and the 2 missing screws by calling back JCPenney!
