So damn frustrated

Yesterday contractions kicked up, I decided to hydrate and lay down and see if they got better. They did for awhile but then they got real serious I couldn't talk through them. Hubby and I took a shower and I couldn't seem to get my legs dry. When I got dressed I felt as though I kept leaking fluid so I told hubby I thought it was time to go to the hospital. Once I got to L&D contractions REALLY intensified, the nurse did a swab to see if my water really did break. The first test came back in conclusive. Hubby and I started to get excited thinking it was the real deal as my contractions where 4 mins apart. They did a second swab and it came back negative and my contractions wouldn't hold a pattern. They were less than ten mins apart but no pattern so we got sent home. I'm so upset I really thought it was time! I feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever, but these really painful contractions have stuck around and have been waking me up. I'm up timing them and feeling horrible. I feel like I'll never know when labor starts :((.

Re: So damn frustrated

  • I feel your pain, Mama!

I'm a FTM and while I haven't gone in to L&D yet, I've called a few times with questions. I've been having contractions and some of them are pretty strong and even wake me up, but nothing that follows a pattern. Lost MP 4 days ago, I'm "almost" 2 cm dilated and 60-70% effaced as of my 40 week appointment yesterday.

I just feel like with this being the first time, its so hard to know when the real thing will come and what it will be like. Its helpful to read everyone else's stories, but at the same time, all of them can be so vastly different that there is no real way to know what it will be like for me! Everyone always says "you will know when its real labor", but the you turn around and read a thread about some moms who had been having contractions they couldn't feel and were dilated to a 4-5 and didn't know it.

We are just going to have to hang in there! These babies can't stay where they are forever - even though it gets harder and harder to remind myself of that the longer he stays put!

Yes to all of this! I'm 40w2d and it's driving me crazy. Lost my MP last night for a second time in two weeks and have only had mild minor contractions. My next appointment isn't until Wednesday. That seems so far away. I just want baby out!
