I have a question that I think is well suited for this post- can you all describe the difference between RLP (round ligament pain) and cramps. I'm feeling....something and I don't know if I can tell the difference. It just hurts down in the baby region so I'm hoping someone can articulate the differences for me

Cramping just feels like normal, mild period cramps. Round Ligament pain is that sudden jab of pain that feels like your whole uterus suddenly cramped up... mostly happens when you stand up from a sitting position, cough, sneeze... anything sudden... does that make sense?
Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure if it makes sense but I also get the impression that I'm hormonally over thinking things.
My period cramps have always been really intense but very localized and short lived. So for about 5-15 seconds I'll have to hunch over and wait for it to pass, but it only happened maybe twice per period which sounds more like the way you described RLP.
The pains I'm having now are short lived too but seem like there is more "surface area" to the pain. It's intense for a few seconds and it feels like the area that hurts is like 5-ish inches long and then it passes. Then there are the little tiny cramps that feel like someone is pinching me and then letting it go- that might be stretching though.
I'm a control freak so I'm having a really hard time not understanding what I'm feeling- especially when it doesn't feel good.
The RLP is pretty intense for me these days. Went to bed feeling sick and woke up feeling sick. Threw up on my way to work this morning. Was really hoping the nausea and sickness would have gone and went by now!

Cramps just are cramps. Rlp knocks you to the floor and you feel like you might DIE! ( #:-S okay maybe I'm dramatic lol... but it really hurts and I found the best way to help it is drink water and sit down.
Does anyone else get sharp shooting-ish breast pain? It's been happening to me a few times a day and it really hurts. I'm not alarmed enough to call my doctor, but will definitely mention it at my appointment next week. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

This happened to me last time I was pregnant, and I'm noticing it's happening again. Can't remember what it wound up being attributed to, but I was told it's part of the lovely process.
The only thing I've kept Down in the past 36 hours is a thing of yogurt, small Apple pieces and a small piece of fried flounder. My stomach just doesn't want anything! Only water of course. I even threw up a Popsicle yesterday. It's like ms is worse now than it was first tri!
@pbtaost Definitely going though the same thing! right side only, about 5-6 times a day it feels like my breast is being stabbed. Lasts a few seconds and then gone.
For me RLP is a sharp pain on the sides of your stomach. kind of by your hip bone and south. It can hurt like a mother. I have to stop what i'm doing most of the time when i have one and give it a couple of seconds. stretching hurts.
I wish there was a separate room at my office where I could just go to discretely fart every 5-10 minutes when the need arose. The bathroom is in the center of the office and has not so great acoustics. The gas is real today. Don't know how I'm going to make it.

I've been getting shortness of breath easily and often times need to sit down if I've been standing or walking when it happens, otherwise I feel dizzy. Not the best in the middle of the grocery store or Target!
I know this isn't *exactly* the place for this question, but I'm still going to pose it. I was just reading that my 15 week baby is 4 inches from crown to rump (it wasn't on the bump, so maybe they say a little bigger or smaller, whatever. give or take.). Doesn't it just seem odd that you can have a 4 inch (plus legs!) creature in your body and NOT FEEL IT MOVING. I was thinking about it when I read the 16 week movement post and someone replied, "Baby is still tiny." I mean, really...it's not! I just think it's crazy that I can't feel that baby, the size of my iPhone, bouncing about.

one thing that doesn't seem to come up as much is the STRENGTH of the baby. It's skeleton is still developing so it's not like a strong rigid 4 inch doll, it's still kind of weak and flexible. At least that's how I think about it. Plus the uterus wall is strong and shielding things

This, and I also think that while they measure 4" long if laying flat as a board, this little babe is nestled up nice and comfy into a ball (at least mine is on every u/s I've seen of them)..I don't know though, maybe I'm over thinking it.
My neighbors are driving me crazy with their cigarette smell. It's such a nice day out but I can't leave my patio door open because they are constantly chain smoking and the smell keeps making me nauseous. Plus they have this awful nasty hacking cough and it's so gross to listen to. I used to not mind as much but these days it's just so gross to live next to.
Headaches are BAD. Missing work today because of one. Only thing to take is Tylenol? Any other options for us preggo chicks?
Have you tried peppermint oil? A friend also recommended lavender oil, but I haven't tried that yet. It does help the pain. I totally understand though. I get them almost daily.
Any recommendations for pillows? Just a body pillow or are the preggo pillows worth it? I'm getting awful knots in my back and someone suggested trying a new pillow.

There's a thread on the first page called "Snoogle or no?" that has a ton of opinions about that vs regular body pillows. I'm still not sold, but I'm considering trying it out.

I started with a king pillow and after about a week I bought a pregnancy pillow. I've found that the snoogle I purchased doesn't flatten like the regular pillow I was using before.

I asked for a Snoogle for my birthday, but currently I make a nest out of 3 king pillows (one on each side and one between my knees). It is highly comfortable but I am also excited for my Snoogle.

I was going to say if you're breastfeeding it sounds like mastitis but otherwise I'm no help! I hope it's just growing pains for you!
@mcklough I also had very intense period cramps, I will say that contractions felt EXACTLY like that. So positive, we are already prepared for labor pains haha.

@pbtoast I've been getting that too!
I had some bad gas last night. It hurt so badly that I was almost in tears. Lawd.
I try not to worry about the aches and pains bc it seems to make it worse. If I was bleeding a lot, then I would call the doc asap.
