Re: Anyone have baby names already picked out?

  • My husband and I just recently started TTC, but i bring up names just because it's fun. We're definitely going to have a hard time with a girl name if we end up having a girl, we don't agree on anything... Aside from possibly Charlotte.

    Boy names we both like:
    -Declan James...(I like your pick @greeneyes14 !)
-Vincent James (Vinny as a nickname)

I'm sure this will change a million times before we're actually expecting and have the baby! :)

  • Oh I'm sure ! I love the middle name James ! And Vincent is really nice too
I know I don't know why girls are so hard he shoots down all the ones I like lol
  • We haven't discussed middle names yet.

    Boys:
    Tobias
    Lyle
    Simon
    Johannes
    Thaddeus

    Girls
    Leona
    Reina
  • What great names !
  • Rhea Florence & Atom Davis!
  • We both like the name max (maxwell as a whole name but just bc i like names with more than one syllable lol) and i like henry. My husband said he liked harvey once but i think my fave vetoed that haha. He doesnt have any girl names but i like violet, hazel or sophia or elizabeth anne after my 2 fave fictional heriones. Boys names are harder for me which is funny bc we both picture having a boy (but wed be thankful with a healthy baby either way)
  • If we have a little boy next we plan on naming him Gideon. If it is a little girl again, I am unsure about what her first name will be, but her middle will be Charity. :)

  • I love Gideon !
  • Elizabeth Anne is beautiful
  • Hey ladies! My husband and I have more trouble with a boys name than girls name. Our two favorite girl names (well one of ours and one is mine lol) are Nicolette Angelica after our grandmothers who passed away and Amelia Grace. My top name for a boy is Luke Thomas but it's hard to find something that sounds good with our last name!
  • we talk names all the time. right now our front runner for a boy is:
    bram walker

girls are terrible for us. we can't decide on a girl name for the life of us. we know that we really want to try to use quin as a middle name. it's a family surname on DH's side that is dying this generation and his mom has expressed her high desires that it be used for one of the grand children as either a first or middle name. do you know how hard it is to find names that go with quin as a middle name?! IT'S EXHAUSTING. i don't like it enough to use as a first name. good thing we are starting early on this discussion. our luck... we'll have a girl.

i really like hadley quin for a girl but DH is not crazy about it. every name i bring up he's not crazy about. driving me nuts.

DH really likes unique names. thing is, our last name is so. generic. we are having a hard time with DH suggesting these beautiful fancy names and i feel like they don't fit at all with our generic last name. lol. ugh.

  • Boy names are so hard for me! I can't seem to find any that I am absolutely in love with. As of now, DH and I like Maverick (I know it gets flamed often around here) but we like it and that's all that matters. It's not set in stone and could change by the time we are actually having to choose a name. Girl names are much easier and I have a handful that I like. As of right now my top runners up are Stella, Ava and Elise. I recently discovered the website Nymbler and it's amazing! Check it out if you love baby names and would like more suggestions.
  • I'll have to check that site out ! Girls names are hard for me for some reason and hubby always says "eh it's okay" or "no way" to all the ones I choose I gave him Penelope yesterday and he was like "eh idk it's okay"
    I also like
    Isla
    Eloise
    Louisa
    Quinn
    Esme
    Adelaide
    Adeline
    Clara
  • Maverick is a nice name btw
  • So far we have a girl's name picked out:

    Araceli Aaliyah

I absolutely love it and DH knew I wasn't prepared to change it lol....luckily he loves it too!

Boy names are ridiculously hard for us, we can't agree on a name to save our lives, but so far I like:

    -Liam
    -Dominic
    -Aiden
    -Adrian
    -Manuel
    -Alexander
    -Grayson
    -Javier
    -Emilio
    ...and a few others

He likes Marcus, but I don't lol...it's hard trying to find names that go with our last name (it's very easy to say, it's just not very common)

  • Some of the names we picked were:

    BOYS:
    Maxwell
    Elijah
    Gannon
    Ezra

    GIRLS:
    Aria
    Peyton
    Carissa
    Mia
  • My name list is limited and always changing because I'm a teacher.

    GIRLS
Olivia (DH is in love with this name so it might be Olivia Mae if its a girl)
    Hadley
    Mae
    Saoirse
    Harper
    Stella
    Avery

    BOYS
    Henry
    Connor
    Eli

Boy names are ridiculously hard on us as well @vampbride89.

I love Maverick. There are a lot of names that get flamed around here. It's kind of dumb. I've never seen people get so ridiculously opinionated about names. It seems like the only names that are praised here are plain, regular names. Nobody has any appreciation for creativity. Though I do totally agree there is a fine line between creative and ridiculous. It's so annoying...

  • @JLmama118 I checked that site out and I love it ! Already added a ton of names to the girls list !

    @LavenderBrown1018 I love your names
    Eli is awesome !
Mae is one of my middle name choices just sounds and looks so pretty and I love Harper

I just discovered the name Freya for a girl and for some reason I am obsessed with it ! Lol
  • My husband and I have decided on

    Ryker Gauge for a boy
    Emerson Paige for a girl

EDD-4/26/16 so I'm sure they may change
  • I've never understood other people getting so crazy over someone else's choice of a name either! Their kid, their choice. I'm not too big of a fan of traditional, plain names and I totally agree there's a fine line between unique and off the wall. The only thing that drives me crazy is made up spellings that totally butcher the original name.
  • We love Emma but I wish it were t so popular. I like Elijah for a boy

  • We are set with our girl - Lauren Feliz - Lauren being a name I love and Feliz is my middle name that would pass down.
Our boy name was set, but I'm having doubts -Beau Wesley - Welsey is my dad's middle name.
We already have a Jack William, so pairing a name with that is what we are currently thinking about. Oh well.

Yes! I agree that girls names are harder.

I thought had my names picked out for years. I planned to use two of my grandparents names and for mn used my mom and FILs names, but now we have more or less decided to go original rather than family name.

Would have been(family names, picked out since before we were married):
    Dean Jonathan
    Grace Marie

Now, starting from scratch, here are the top 5:
    Clara Kaye
    Emily Caitlyn
    Leo James
    Ian James
    William Leo

  • @vampbride99 Thanks friend! Lauren Feliz has been our number one girl's name for a long time. We will see what happens when the time comes.

Declan was one of the boys names I had picked out, but the DH hates it. Although, he said he hates it less than Tobias, which was my first choice *sigh*

    I love Sawyer!
  • Hey everyone!

Anytime I bring up baby names to DH, he rolls his eyes and says "Anyways..." followed by a change of topic. Little does he know I'm secretly planning names already haha.
      Anniversary

  • We are choosing between Rachel. Holly. And Lillia.
  • First post here! I officially have baby fever, bad.

DH and I have agreed on 2 boy names and 1 girl name. We both like more traditional names.

    Boys:
James Robert III, will go by James (1st son)
Scott Hamilton (2nd son) both of my brothers' middle names

    Girl:
Lilah Elyse, his sister's middle name is Elyse

    Other names:
Bishop Lane (his great great uncles name and my dad's middle name)
Alice Faye (middle name is my Aunt's name)

We want three kids so we could have a hard time with girl names.

@LakeR2014 I guess kind of? Haha. DH and I have always relied on condoms as BC and about 3 months ago we stopped using them and avoided times when I was ovulating (I had started tracking my cycle). Well I was supposed to start my period last Wednesday and I still hadn't started by this Tuesday so I took a test and it was negative and I was really sad. So I took another test Wednesday and was negative again and started my period this morning.

DH and I were both really excited thinking about being pregnant but hadn't planned to start TTC until January. Since we were both really bummed that I ended up not being pregnant, I think we are just going to see if it happens without really really trying if that makes sense? Then we'll start actively TTC in January.

  • @emmaaa That makes tons of sense.   The thought of there being a chance and then finding out it was just a delayed period, definitely has a way of telling us we're ready or not.   It sounds like you guys are ready.    Sometimes just enjoying life as normal (without tracking) tends to lead to some happy endings. Best of luck!!!
  • @LakeR2014 Thank you! When I was first a few days late I was really nervous how DH would react. I didn't know if he would be super excited or not, but the fact that he was and then a little bummed that I wasn't pregnant was relieving. Best of Luck to you as well!
