  I had a small shower with my girlfriends yesterday, accept one if their husbands decided to tag along. For the record, my husband wasn't there. I was really skeptical about this guy being there, till he was sitting there talking post pregnancy care and being one of the girls. My friends daughter brought beaded necklaces for everyone that was totally girly, he wore his with pride. He ended up being fun.

  My shower started at 4:30 and my cake didn't show up until 7 when the shower was to end at 7:30. My best friend who was the host from out of town couldn't come and her one contribution (the cake) was hours late. Kind of ironic, but at least we are getting a free anniversary cake out of it because the lady who made it felt so bad.

  My grandma (mom's side) hosted one of my two showers for me. She asked me a few days before the shower about what we needed because someone had asked. She told me who asked and I said, grandma she wasn't invited to the shower you're hosting...she was like really, well i told her about it and she just thought her invite hadn't come yet once I mentioned it.
  
  Fortunately, the lady was my aunt (dad's side) and was being invited to my other shower and was totally understanding when we had to explain the situation. I was so worried that she would think she was expected to be at both showers and that felt totally rude and gift grabby to me.
