How many of you would say that your 3 month old and can support their head completely when sitting up?
I'm interested in this as well. Mine definitely can not support her head sitting up. She has yet to do a full push up with tummy time as well. We have a consultation with a early intervention evaluator this morning and 2 neurologists in the next month. I'm hoping they will tell us she is just a bit delayed versus having a Neuro problem but I'm seeing a lot of 3 monthers here with excellent head support so it has me concerned. We don't have a bumbo seat but I'm sure she would flop over on it if I tried using one.

My daughter is 13 weeks and I can say she is holding her head up quite well, both in supported sitting and standing. In holding her head up well I mean it's not wobbling haha and she can move hear head in every direction at her own will to follow and object and person.
Is she seeing the neurologist because she had a problem before or because you're concerned about her head? I ask because my baby sees a neurologist regarding problems she had inutero, but is completely fine now!

this makes me nervous about head support as well... my baby boy can definitely not sit up on his own nor does he do well with tummy time.....
We are in the same position. DS will be 12 weeks tomorrow and he's just now holding his head up. But not well enough to sit in his mamas and papas seat. I can now carry him and he'll support his own head. He still hates tummy time but we are slowly getting him to do it a bit longer each day. I don't think most babies can sit up on their own at this age. Maybe I have low expectations but I didn't think that would happen until closer to 5 months...
It's getting off topic, but sitting up is a different skill than holding their head up. You lo won't be sitting up for a while. There's a lot of debate over those chairs that prop up babies too young to sit, and I'm neither for or against them...but there's no need to worry your lo can't sit at this point! Rolling will come before sitting. And, my lo just now decided she wants to roll, so she actually whines to go on her tummy for tummy time, and is trying so hard to roll over. I have to laugh at her grabbing the blanket on the bed to try to haul herself over. Poor thing gets so frustrated, even if I help her out a little.
And, everyone's babies are adorable. Just waiting for her 3 month picture to post it!
Sophia Nichole 3 months old a few days ago she rolls over( only when she wants to), can hold her head up perfectly, smiles and giggles a lot, Is sleeping 7-9 hours a night and is eating 6 ounces every 4 hours! Growing so fast!
Ladies who were worried about their baby supporting their own head at 3 months - I talked to my pediatrician yesterday and he said that baby shouldn't be doing that well until around 4 or 5 months! Don't worry we are just being silly FTM's our babes are just fine!
Jenica LaMar. She's 12 weeks. 3 months on the 23rd.! She's SUCH an easy baby, literally only cried when she's hungry. Sleep 8-9 hours a night. Loves playing on her lion king mat and with her butterfly rattle. Non stop smiles. Can't say enough about her.!
