This is our very first 2ww. We are so nervous and excited. We never thought 2 weeks seemed like a long time when reading about it. It already feels like an eternity!! How do you pass the time? How long do you wait to test? How many times do you test?

Re: Our FIRST 2 week wait
Even on the night of the positive test, I had gotten a negative that morning. So my wife said if we ever do this again, just to wait until the 2ww was completely up and not to waste money on the tests!
How soon did you go to a dr to confirm?
We want to tell our parents right away (it will be my mom's 1st grandchild!), but if it is a false positive, we don't want to. I would prefer to wait until a dr says yes (unless that will take too long!)

I don't recommend it (peeing on all the sticks). If it's negative, you spread out the negative over a long stretch, which isn't great for your mood. I can't help it, though. I get a ton of tests, and start testing twice a day (because I'm a nut) starting at 8dpo (because I'm a total nut, it's too early).
The first week is easier than the second, because I spend the second week peeing on stuff all day.
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)

But definitely keep in mind, if you get a BFN, that's it's normal for this to be a process. Take care of each other, and make self care a priority.
My fingers are crossed for you!

BTW we were out of pocket as well. I felt like seeing the fertility specialist ended up being worth it. Unless it's a known donor and you're doing it at home for free, if you're buying sperm and doing home insemination it may end up costing more in the long run.
They used an ultrasound when they inseminated me and got really good accuracy. They also wash the sperm so it's super strong swimmers. I also did clomid and a trigger shot.
