This is our very first 2ww. We are so nervous and excited. We never thought 2 weeks seemed like a long time when reading about it. It already feels like an eternity!! How do you pass the time? How long do you wait to test? How many times do you test?

I had a terrible time waiting. I took about 4 tests, 3 negative until one finally came back positive. Of course, I was taking them too early.
Even on the night of the positive test, I had gotten a negative that morning. So my wife said if we ever do this again, just to wait until the 2ww was completely up and not to waste money on the tests!
After you got a positive, did you do a few more just to make sure? How soon did you go to a dr to confirm? We want to tell our parents right away (it will be my mom's 1st grandchild!), but if it is a false positive, we don't want to. I would prefer to wait until a dr says yes (unless that will take too long!)

I took a test, wasn't sure so I went to the store and got a digital. I then called out fertility clinic and got a blood test. We had the blood test results before we told family but it was only a couple of days.
If you really want to pee on lots of sticks, you can get pregnancy tests cheap at the dollar store (they're actually decent) or order wondfos on Amazon. The you won't feel like you're wasting them. I get a good one for day 14, but plow through the cheap ones leading up to that.
I don't recommend it (peeing on all the sticks). If it's negative, you spread out the negative over a long stretch, which isn't great for your mood. I can't help it, though. I get a ton of tests, and start testing twice a day (because I'm a nut) starting at 8dpo (because I'm a total nut, it's too early).
The first week is easier than the second, because I spend the second week peeing on stuff all day.
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs. 2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs. Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire. Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus! fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP! Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
Well, I started my poas addiction. Lol, and we were using the expensive frer since we were testing way too early! We have come to our senses and are waiting until this weekend. You are right @KLake42 , all of those negatives were hard to see

I very much hope that you rolled a yahtzee on your first try, and that it's happened for you-- I do know people who are lucky like that!
But definitely keep in mind, if you get a BFN, that's it's normal for this to be a process. Take care of each other, and make self care a priority.
My fingers are crossed for you!

We were testing too. The BEST tests to get are Wondfo, on Amazon. They are about 25-30cents each. We won't be using them or their opks anymore thought due to trigger shot so I can happily mail ours to whoever needs them. We have about 40 opks and 24 hpt.
I used Wandfo opk and could never get a positive. I bought the clearblue advanced digital opk and got a peak on it. I did a wondfo with the same sample and I still didn't get a positive. I am not sure why...

I used clear blue for ovulation prediction. However, I was driving myself crazy testing for pregnancy during the two week wait but had a hard time not testing.
I am afraid since I have a 16 day LP (which is longer than some people) that testing too early isn't helping either. We are going to hold off on testing for a few days. (sigh)

I kept testing and getting negatives even on day 14. Then I started bleeding. I was sure it was a BFN but then, I waited one more day and the bleeding must have been implantation bleeding because I got a positive with a clear blue easy digital.
Good luck everyone. This TWW is killing me, and will be the most devastating yet if it doesn't take. I'm prepping myself for the worst on a daily basis though.
Just got back from sister in laws bday party and I've never in my life been so bitter about something. I can't stop crying. I can't stop being angry. I'm so mad that they have something that we want so badly. I've also convinced myself that this cycle didn't work. So there's that. I hate all of this TTC stuff, and today right now at this moment I feel like it's never going to work, that I'll never get to have a baby. I feel hopeless angry and hurt all at once. They were supposed to be there for us still but they have quickly forgotten how much it sucks to in the "still not pregnant club" my heart just aches.
Thanks everyone. Now, we sit and wait for AF. Unfortunately, I have long cycles, so the waiting game takes forever to start doing AI. Timing is so hard when your cycle is crazy and you are using a donor. FX for the rest of you!! I always love hearing success stories because it gives me hope!

It's not over til AF shows. Are you using a trigger shot? Because it makes timing a lot easier!
No. Unfortunately, we can't see a RE or receive any fertility treatment with our insurance. Being a lesbian isn't medically necessary and they won't give a referral. If someone here has found a way around that, I would love to hear.

I am not trying to be mosey, but are you not going to an RE because of cost? We didn't have to get a referal to the RE because when we called we had told them we were lesbians, and they just got us in. We have fertility coverage though and wouldn't be able to afford an RE otherwise, so I understand if it's a cost issue.
See if you can get clomid next time. The RX only cost us $20 out of pocket- not even with insurance. For $20 it was worth it- even the emotional roller coaster it caused!
I keep hearing you need to have a RE give you clomid and monitor and that it can be unsafe if an ob gives it and they aren't monitoring you. Any opinions?
RE DX for me: Anovulatory cycles/Mild PCOS RE DX for DW: Endometrioma on left Ovary. Reciprocal Ivf Feb 2016. DW eggs and I am carrying. EDD: 10/27/16
I would only ever take them while monitored. I wouldn't want to risk an octomom situation, however my SIL took it unmonitored and she is 8wks with a singleton. But it is SAFEST to use under supervision, but I think a lot of women take it without monitoring.
I got it from our fertility clinic. The chance of multiples is pretty slim. My doctor said octomom is impossible with clomid alone.
BTW we were out of pocket as well. I felt like seeing the fertility specialist ended up being worth it. Unless it's a known donor and you're doing it at home for free, if you're buying sperm and doing home insemination it may end up costing more in the long run.
They used an ultrasound when they inseminated me and got really good accuracy. They also wash the sperm so it's super strong swimmers. I also did clomid and a trigger shot.
