FFFC - Flame Free Friday Confessions!

This has been a crazy stressful week and I haven't eaten a single healthy meal since last Sunday and I don't plan to eat a healthy meal again until Monday. I very well may drink my meals tomorrow and Sunday.

My husband just got turned down for a promotion.  I know he really wanted it but it would have been 2 hours away, meaning it would have made things so much harder for me at home (I would have had to do both drop off and pick up daycare, do dinner, cleanup, dishes and baths every night after working my full time job before he even gets home).  I'm really bummed for him that he didn't get it because I know how bad he wanted it, but I'm kind of relieved at the same time.

    I'm a horrible person.
  • My in-laws are visiting us and didn't really have any touristy things planned. They also didn't give us much notice so I'm working for most of their visit. So I'm sitting in my cool and comfortable home office while they and my husband toil in our yard. We just moved into the home and neglected most of the yard in favor for patching up the interior. When they saw it they politely offered to help out a bit. My husband jumped at it.

I feel like I'm a terrible host, but at the same time I'm thrilled that I don't have to wrestle vines and weeds in the heat.
  • ******trigger warning, loss mentioned *****

I am a little pissed that I didn't get a sort of promotion at my school. We need a new person in the special ed department and I'm the only person in the school with a Sped certification and degree. I have a dual major in Special Education and History Education. I know I was considered and I have a feeling I didn't get the position because the admin found out I was pregnant, but I had a miscarriage so... :(
  • @Tippy05, you are NOT a horrible person. I would have thought the exact same thing if I were you. It would have made you feel like a single parent, even though technically you aren't. And your feelings, at least to me, are justified. Hopefully something much better and more suited for your family comes his way!

  • My best friend and coworker just left our office and I kept wondering when her last day was because I am getting that position and the raise that comes with it... I know that makes me a bad person. :/

I'm going to flame a coworker because we scheduled a time to meet (11am) and I'm still sitting here (11:20am) because she is in a staffing with one of her staff. Which I totally get. But stop wasting my time (and when I could be eating) because you don't want to give me 3 damn files. Seriously. I'm going to be hangry (hungry angry) soon. Just because you're a supervisor (not mine) doesn't mean your time is more valuable than mine.

    Eta: I wasn't done flaming.
  • The woman that handles the billing for my commercial accounts called me to her desk because she received an email that she didn't understand. She says "Her reply was just a : and a ). Do you have any idea what this means?" I seriously wanted to facepalm and laugh hysterically, but I couldn't. So as soon as I got back to my desk I immediately texted my H and my BFF to share my laugh of the day.

  • Today is DH's birthday. I planned a cookout and fun stuff with our friends and family this evening. What I really want to do is watch Doctor Who on Netflix, BD, and sleep.

  • I'm glad other people also love their in-laws but can get enough of them.

We just bought a new home (our first).  We closed last week and the seller moved out yesterday.  H and I have never been alone in the house before, so we were going to go Sunday to get a good relaxed look at it and bask in the joy of being home owners before my dad and uncle come Monday to give a quote on renovations we need to do before we move in.  MIL is upset that my parents got invited to see the house before her, so H invited her to join us Sunday.  She's a wonderful woman but I'm annoyed that I have to be "on" and can't just have a day to celebrate with just my husband.  I'm a bad daughter-in-law.

  • Seems like a lot of people are seeing their in-laws this weekend - me included!

Today is my FIN's birthday - I still don't have a card for him (oops). Apparently to celebrate, we're doing brunch tomorrow - no time has been set but I have to be ready to go by 12pm. I was told all of this yesterday... I really like my in-laws but I'm just not in the mood to see them this weekend - I'm not in the mood to be "on" or put up my shield for the side eyeing I'll get for how the house looks. (We're still in the middle of two large house projects so everything is moved)

I used to love my job. I still love the kids, but they've passed me over for a promotion 3 times now and refuse to change my hours. I would put in my two weeks tomorrow if I could. I'd be sad to leave the kids but being done with this favoritism would be worth it.

But if I end up pregnant before I find another job I'm staying because they are very kind (leniant) to pregnant workers. Ug.

@cattlebride that gif is snapshot my life right now lol

    Edit: words
  • I need a good super stupid poster drive by that I can flame the hell out of today. I want to unleash my frustration and anger at some that deserves it.
  • I only worked a half day today and am supposed to clean, do laundry and make dinner.

I'm sitting on the couch watching "Ladies of London" on Bravo thinking about where to get take out from >:)

  • Going to hometown to visit family. While I love my in laws I really just want to hang out with my family. They are so much more fun and I don't have to worry about being politically correct and dodging health questions all the time. All the in laws want to do is watch Men is Black reruns on TV or golf and talk about how miserable they are. I just want to drink tequila.

DH doesn't really have much of sex drive, every other week is great for him and we fight about it a few times a year.  Before I went off my BCPs I told him that we would need to have sex on demand and lot more often.  He understood and agreed and so for a couple months leading up to stopping BCPs we had a lot more.  I really liked it at first but the quality is going down.  I used to justify our lack of sex with well quality over quantity, I always came.  I know a lot of women do not come every time or often, but I did unless I was drunk... And now I'm not coming like 1/3 of the time and I kind of miss masturbating.

  • @CoachBeckyCooper I'm sorry you didn't get the position. If you truly didn't get it because of pregnancy, that would be grounds for discrimination. Not that you could probably prove it, unfortunately. Hugs.

Before this cycle, I've never taken a pregnancy test and I only did it to make sure my batch of HPTs weren't defective. I had no idea what to expect and about had a panic attack (thinking they were indeed defective) when both windows completely turned pink. It should be in the directions to expect that happening.

I ate a belgian waffle for dinner last night and it was glorious. Today I've had grits and eggs and coffee, but I really want to go to the bakery for something sugary for "lunch". I'm eating my emotions and IDGAF.

    **TW: CHILD MENTIONED**

We're trying to get DS on a one nap schedule. He's been off all week because of teething and not sleeping through the night, so it's been pretty easy. Well, DH stepped it up with DS Tuesday-Thursday because I was so sick, and I'm back on today. DH begged me to keep him on this schedule (better for night time, babysitters, etc.) First sign of DS being a crank and me still not feeling 100%? Let's just say he's down for his second nap now. Oops. :-\"

Any reason why you can't masturbate after? Could be an awkward request at first but in my house if the lady doesn't finish then the gentleman politely exits so she may do the necessary additional work required. (Can't concentrate with DH in the room because I feel like I'm on display if he isn't directly involved.)

It is also a good idea to let him know what is good and what is not so good if you are not already vocal about this. Sometimes that makes good warm up too, like "Honey I really like it when you Abc my Xyz... wanna do it to me again?"

    --------

Or make him use some different techniques once he's done so you enjoy it as much as he does!

Don't blame yourself. Sleep consistency is soooo difficult. We're also on the path to single nap days and some times it feels like a crap shoot what the success may be.

Thanks for the support. I just couldn't deal with the crazy tantrums today and distract him for 2-3 more hours. DS was totally cool with the decision though.  :D

Added: That and the chores weren't going to take care of themselves!

Oh no I have an even better confession. Can't believe I forgot.

I'm working from home today and I had to attend a team meeting online. I started feeling too warm in my blue jeans and since I didn't have a webcam going I decided to take off the pants mid meeting and finish it out in my underoos. No one was the wiser.... except you all!! :)
    I've totally done that before.

H is younger than I am and he still doesn't have the sex drive I have. What the crap?! Right now we are in a tiff because I feel he needs to step it up with helping around the house while he isn't working at the moment (because it really WON'T kill him!) and he is super butt hurt and chooses to think I've said he's a worthless piece of crap'. Anyway.. I still want sex. Sex could make it at least 60% better. Why are these men not wanting sex. I know that was slightly off from what you were getting at, but sort of related too. I think. . . I just want to get laid. And the friggen dishes cleaned once in awhile.
