Re: TTTC Checkin - 08/10/2015

  • @GoldenKeys : I know, the summer is just flying by! So not looking to the end of it! Those are the days I wish I lived further south!

Things are going well on my end. I was a little nervous about how my follies were developing on this cycle with letrozole and injectibles vs letrozole only. It just seems like it slowed things down, which is not necessarily a bad thing (I always ovulated a little early). I should be getting my IUI on Wednesday or Thursday, and will likely have 3 or 4 follies by then (I have a 19, two 15, and a 14). Also, my lining is for the first time above 8mm (8.4mm)! It feels completely ridiculous to be this excited about this (you know most people wouldn't understand), but it makes me feel so much better about the hysteroscopy and how it was needed.

Hmm...$5000 shopping spree would be wonderful! Don't know that I would want to spend it all in one place- I also rarely get particularly expensive pieces. But if clothing only, I'd do Banana Republic. Otherwise, I'd probably want Costco...tons of stuff for the house, and hopefully some baby furniture.

  • Hi all -

Currently in my 2ww of our 2nd IVF round.  We transferred one perfect 9 cell embryo on Thursday and now we just wait.  I went in this morning for my progesterone check and i'm assuming no news is good news, the nurse said my lining looked great so i'm just hoping that the twinges I feel every so often are from implantation.  But who knows and if I symptom spot I will drive myself crazy!

@kidshrink great follie numbers and good luck on your IUI!  Isn't it funny the things we get excited about??

QOTW - interesting question.. I think I would put that 5k down on a new car along with trading mine in and get something bigger!

  • Hello everyone,

I am in my two week wait. Had my IUI on August 2nd with 2 really nice sized follies 21 and 24 and had 2 that may have or may have not released. I should know something by this Sunday the 16th. This time we only did one well timed iui versus back to back iuis like before. When I went in at 37hrs post trigger the follies had not released yet. We inseminated 38hrs after trigger. I have also started my acupuncture.

    @kidshrink good luck to you.
@cupcakgal930 good luck to you as well.

Fingers crossed for all of us.

    * If it had to be a retail store I would probably do Macy's because I can buy things for everyone.
  • Well AF came last week but this just means I didn't have to take progesterone to induce her! YAY for my body starting to act right! lol I started Letrozole(Femara) yesterday and i will go in on Monday August for my ultrasound to see if I have any good Follies:) i did last month so i am hopeful i will again this month! If so then i will receive my trigger shot and we will have timed intercourse for the next two days:)

  • @J_k4ever05 : I told my husband I wanted a party for my uterus because it's been good. He told me I was ridiculous ;)

Last minute update: turns out I'm surging, so trigger tonight and IUI tomorrow morning! Eeek!
  • @kidshrink I was just reading your August IUI thread on the infertility board. I wish I would have joined earlier in my cycle. I think you should have a party but the only problem is when you are trying to conceive it is a bunch of green leafy veggies and none of the fun things go along with a party ...you know like cake LOL. GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!

@krbjoy I am wishing you all the luck in the world.

I hope this is a great cycle for us all.

  • @goldenkeys - I refuse to believe summer is ending. I just replanted part of my garden hoping to get a little second summer harvest!

@kidshrink - that follie count is awesome! good luck on the IUI! FX

@cupcakegal930 - thinking of you and cheering. FX. A 9 cell embryo is like the cadillac of embryos is what my RE would say ;)

@krbjoy - ohmygosh! so excited for you! and excited for good numbers!

We finally got this last ditch ivf rolling last week. Today is, I don't know, maybe day 5 of stims? I lost count already. Follie count on day three was not great - 3 over 10mm and 5 more behind. I'm hopeful we'll recruit a few more but ready to pull the trigger with just three if I have to. As if on queue, my 9 month old went into sleep regression this week and several times I said, "I want her to have a sibling, but maybe it's ok if this doesn't work :) " I know people hate when people with kids say things like that, but my heart is truly yearning for the moment when all of you/us are complaining about fatigue. I was tolerating the hormones well until today, but as you can see from my emotional post, now they're starting to settle in :)

I would take $5k to Free People or Anthropologie so fast it would make a head spin.

  • Well AF reared her ugly head again yesterday so clomid round 3 was a fail for me. My clinic wants to do a 4th round of clomid before moving on to IUI...it's hard to be optimistic that another round of clomid will have different results, but I also just found out that my specialist doesn't even have appointment space until october so we won't be able to move ahead with iui until then anyway. So on to round 4 of clomid.

I'm feeling a little demoralized and I think the big feeling for me right now is feeling alone in this whole thing. DH tries but doesn't really get how much of a roller coaster each month is, and we aren't really telling anyone else so I feel stuck processing everything in my own head and overthinking everything too much. At least this group exists to let us know we're not alone!

    @krbjoy that's exciting! good luck!
@k_j4ever05 and @cupcakegal930 hope this 2ww is the last for you!

I think I'd spend my $5000 on amazon, or else at ann taylor, buying a new work wardrobe.

Have a good week everybody! @GoldenKeys - I hope there's still some summer weather to enjoy!

  • Just two more days in the TWW. I was trying to wait for day 14 to test for the first time ever but I really want to test tomorrow. For some reason my husband is convinced that this cycle worked. He has been a lot more invested the last few cycles, which has been great and really made a difference for me but I worry if this doesn't work he will go back to not being as involved. If I had 5,000 I would also go with Home Depot for some kitchen remodelng. Although I do need more work clothes, since we started treatment I haven't bought any clothes because I keep hoping I wont fit into them soon...
    ***Siggy Warning Child and Loss***

Officially diagnosed with unexplained infertility after 4 years of TTC
IUI#2 gave us DS#1 who became an angel a few minutes after birth from Noonan syndrome
IUI#4 gave us DS#2 - going strong as a toddler!

TTC again... Found a clinical trial for unexplained infertility and finished 16 weeks of "lifestyle intervention"
Cycle #1 - cancelled for ovarian cyst x3...
  • I'd like to be added, finally :).

    1) we've been TTC for a year and a half

    2) PCOS, RE is still looking for the cause. My move out of LA has seemed to greatly reduce stress and I have ovulated on my own, cycles are still 40 days and that worries my RE.

    3) RE wants me on clomid, but given that I ovulated two cycles in a row I want a few cycles to see if we can conceive without intervention. I'm currently in my TWW, but not holding my breath, my husband was out of town when I got my pos OPK and had a slight temp shift, we BD the next day. It is also my first cycle getting back into temping so I missed a couple days of OPK test and one temp day. My chart says we got my fertile window but I feel like I'm missing too much data to be sure. I'm mostly just being stubborn about it because I'm still in shock this is happening on it's own. I had a really bad cyst rupture in March with intense pain for a week and bleeding...maybe that kind of reset the ovaries in a weird way.

I would buy furniture if I had a $5000 shopping spree. We recentlyish bought a house after living in a one bedroom apartment for years. We are slowly furnishing the place. And I mean sloooooooowly.
  • Good morning beautiful ladies.

I think I slipped through the check-in crack - mylienc dx: low follicle count Treatment: Clomid + Novarel

Closing in on my TWW in another 4 days, I think.  I am so baffled on this cycle.  I typically have a CD30, an 11 day luteal phase so that would mean I typically ovulate around CD19.  Well this cycle I ovulated around CD12-14.  I am getting conflicting information on when to test.  Should I test 12DPO (CD26), test after a full TWW (CD28), or should I wait till the day after my expected period (CD31)?  Not sure if the analyzing or the wait is what is driving me crazy right now.  But let's be honest, it wouldn't be the first cycle I tested every other day till my period.  I'd love to hear how you deal with the time in the TWW.  It's been over a year and I've gotten no better at it.

Keeping FX for all of you other there.

If I had a $5,000 shopping spree, I think I would want Amazon.  What CAN'T you by on Amazon?!?!?!

  • @mylienc I do a lot of crafting and lately have been doing projects around the house. I tell myself that me testing over and over isn't going to change anything except drive me crazy. I'd rather not feel any crazier than I already do, so I do my best to distract myself.

Is there anything you want to get done before having a baby? Any new hobbies you want to pick up?

Also, I'd test after the full TWW! Fx for you :)
  • Hello ladies, I wrote an introductory post yesterday and I would love to start participating in the weekly check in. From the posts I have read I seem to be in a different boat than most here but I would love to offer any support I can to you all.

    1) We have been ttc for 11 months

    2) I just began the testing phase. I have had blood drawn to check my egg reserve and my thyroid function as well as to look for some clotting and immune disorders. I will also have a saline infused sonogram to check for uterine defects. DH has horrible insurance through school and mine is through work so we are not testing DH at this time. My symptoms are irregular cycles and recurrent miscarriages.

    3) I am current waiting for AF to return after D&C at the end of July but then I will just be charting my cycles. We are not ttc until we get some test results back.

I would probably choose Amazon for a $5000 spending spree.

  • ***WARNING LOSS MENTIONED****

I think amazon is a good idea as well. I did not even think about that. LOL.

@graphicgranite thank you very much. This was my 4th IUI. I feel like my 1st IUI gave me false hope because I got a BFP and my numbers doubled in the beginning but it did not work out. Dont feel alone we have all been through a lot through this process. We have felt anger, happiness, and every other emotion. Good luck with your next round of Clomid. I wish I only needed Clomid and not any other assistance. It gets expensive.

@kistra my day 14 is Sunday but I want to test early too. I am trying my hardest to be patient this cycle.

@mylienc  I try to keep busy. Between work and weekend obligations it kind of goes to the back of my head. Its when I start feeling symptoms that I get crazy and want to test because this must be it. I will let you know how I do this cycle next week on the check-in LOL.
  • Time is really flying. The update on me is AF finally came on Sunday which I don't think I have ever been this happy to see it (my cycle lasted 124 days). I had taken Provera but it took awhile even with that. I started my 1st round of clomid and I go to a follow-up appointment next week to see if it helped.

QOTW: I would probably use the shopping spree at a furniture store get a new bed and living room furniture.
  • It's been a nice week of trying ;) it's our 1st time trying since HSG test so I'm hopeful but I have really tried to not stress about it..too much. Although work has been stressful enough. So now it's the 2ww fx for this one. My dr appt was pushed to monday so I'll have all my results then (although the dr that performed the HSG said all was good).

QOTW- the hubs and I just started our kitchen remodel so I'll take the 5,000 from crate & barrel so I can decorate :) cause our budget isn't gonna stretch that far.
