Just ate a roastbeef and American cheese sand and it was delicious. I'm a tad paranoid now, but it was worth it!
What are really the chances of getting listeria during pregnancy though??

Hope you didn't use Kraft american cheese. There was a recall or something!

I've had lunch meat (I can't stay away from Jimmy John's), soft serve ice cream from Dairy Queen (because no other store brand comes close to Blue Bell especially when you live 30 minutes from the original creamery), medium rare steak, soft cheeses, and hot dogs.
Definitely over easy eggs. I love them over hash browns for breakfast and it's just not the same with a completely fried egg. And I had lo mein a few weeks ago but I HAD to have Chinese food!
Wait, there's a rule about Chinese food? I had it last night
Confession: I have never had Jimmy Johns. I am not even sure there is one close to me.
I like Jimmy Johns but I am boycotting them so it's easy for me to avoid. We had one that was less than a 1 1/2 miles from my house and a straight shot but they refused to deliver past the start of our neighborhood but would deliver up to 5 miles the other direction. I found this out one day while I was dealing with severe PMS and was absolutely miserable at home with no car. I called corporate and the lady was extremely rude so I have never been back.
...I ate salad with blue cheese dressing today. Was out for dinner with a group and they ordered iceberg wedges with blue cheese as an app for the table. I just couldn't resist - I've been craving it badly for weeks. No idea if it was pasteurized.

We only started having them pop up around me in the last few years. It is GOOD. It's actually pretty basic as far as sandwiches come, but the bread is so good!

My son said the best thing about it was the quick delivery. Other people rave about it.

I still eat Jimmy John's because they deliver to my work, but I was seriously mad at them for half a year. We have always used the same store to order and have them deliver (even though there are 3 in our town), and when we moved from our previous house to our current one (which is actually 1/2 mile closer) they refuse to deliver. They said we fall right outside the delivery zone, which is false.

We had a new one open up SUPER close to where we live, and they told us we are right outside of their delivery radius, too. So dumb. Even dumber that you moved closer and they wouldn't deliver!

Is it too much to ask that they deliver their delicious sandwiches everywhere?
anotherctg yea I thought about it for a second and then ordered my ice cream anyways. Besides even fountain drink dispensers can get really nasty, and ice dispensers are the worst for growing bacteria!
If you like Jimmy Johns you would love Publix. Its a supermarket that doesnt deliver but the subs are so much better. Makes Jimmy Johns highly overrated. Pub Subs are just divine.
I thought the deal with deli meats was the nitrates. How does heating them up ( I saw this mentioned by a few people) get rid of those? Heating is generally for parasites and bacteria, not chemicals. I'm not saying you shouldn't eat them, just curious.
I eat food from safe sources and don't worry to much more than that - raw sushi, medium rare steaks etc. and the soft cheese thing only applies to unpasteurized cheeses anyway so it's not really a cheat if you are getting them from a regular grocery store. The more you know

I avoid nitrates but listeria is more the concern with cold cuts.

ah ok that makes sense. I hadn't heard that. I'm not a cold cut person anyway for the most part, except on pizza I guess

Omg Publix chicken tenders are so good! You can get them on a sandwich too. I miss it. We just moved from FL about 6 months ago where we had one down the street. So good
I just ate a chili cheese dog. It was amazing. I also washed my face today with a face wash containing salicylic acid because I am breaking out so bad. I feel so rebellious lol.
