I also can't get on board with the "DH" abbreviation because I would never say "my dear husband" in real life when I'm talking to people. It doesn't bother me when other people use it, I just can't.

I have friends that have had gender reveal parties, showers AND diaper parties. Like, I get it - you're excited. And I am excited for you, but 3 parties to celebrate your kid before he/she is born? Side eye.....

I would decline all those invitations really quickly. Your unborn baby does not get to take up 3 of my Saturdays

@fwtx5815 Seriously! And most of these people have semi-recently had engagement parties, wedding showers, bachelorette parties and weddings. You're talking hundreds (if not thousands, depending on the person/locations/etc.) of dollars being schlepped out in a matter of 2-3 years for one couple. I'm OOT now so thankfully I have the perfect excuse to decline the excess invitations.
UO: I can't stand the maternity photos where they have you or both you and your spouse/significant other put your hands together to form a heart around (usually) your belly button...
I just think it's so overdone...but that's just me...*shrugs*
I'm a photographer and I hate this, also the frame within the picture, railroad tracks, Dutch angle, selective color. Just anything that is over done.
I think senior pictures when I see railroad tracks... granted my high school mascot was railroaders and the local festival is railroad days
I have no problem with a gender reveal party, if it's with your immediate family. If you want to be an AW, around your fam, I don't think it's a big deal. But having a Gender reveal and a shower and asking family and friends to come to both...excessive.
And Amen. This should have been a new thread.
My UO: I love McDonalds. I know it's not healthy, but their French fries?! Come on, how do you not like them?!
I eat so much McDonald's. I freaking LOVE it. Omg their breakfast. Their lunch. Their everything. MMMM fries.

Here's my super U/O: I don't understand the whole needing to know the sex of your baby. It really bugs me when people say they just have to know so they can prepare. I am team green for the second time. I also have to prepare, probably more so because I don't know the sex. I don't care that people find out, I just can't stand when it becomes an obsession, I guess.

We are 4th time team greeners. A family at our church had their 3rd baby about two years ago - found out it was a girl, they were super excited (first two were boys) and pinked out everything. Tons of girl clothes, frilly pink nursery, pink walls. Baby was born; the tech was wrong at all the ultrasounds - they had another boy. Not only did they have tons of girl stuff they couldn't use (and monogrammed stuff they couldn't sell), but the mom admitted she had this "let-down" feeling bc she had gotten so excited about a girl and felt like that baby was gone and she had someone else's. I like not knowing until the end anyway (used to have no choice when I was a baby!), but I can't even imagine feeling disappointed when my baby was born There's my anecdata LOL

I can't stand being pregnant. I'm miserable, everything hurts, and I'm vomiting. I'm so sick of everyone in my life telling me that I should feel joyous when I want to curl up in a ball and die.
I hate when people post weekly "bump" photos on Facebook or Instagram. Sometimes it's fun to see a side by side comparison, or keep track for your own personal photos, but your 400 acquaintances don't need 30+ pics of your belly as it morphs. Nor do they need to see your dirty laundry or unmade bed in the background.
UO: I can't stand overly personal but oddly vague facebook posts. If you can't say it in public you shouldn't draw attention to it on the Internet.
I find this on par with really sappy song quotes (usually from awful bands or pop singers). Let me post this vague song lyric about heartache and not respond to a single friends inquiry of "are you all right?" "What happened?"

I was the opposite, I was a boy until I was born! Thankfully my mom and dad went pretty neutral with Winnie the Pooh!

My UO today: I can't stand when I'm out in public and just see children staring at electronic devices. Doctors office, restaurants, stores you name it. Like interacting with children is so excruciating that it's easier to just turn them into electronic zombies. My son has used my phone in public only when stuck at his doctors office doing neb treatments for a severe asthma attack. I just want to rip the device away and tell the parents, put your own phone down and TALK to your kid!
I also can't get on board with the "DH" abbreviation because I would never say "my dear husband" in real life when I'm talking to people. It doesn't bother me when other people use it, I just can't.
I can't stand the hubby/wife stuff. Just makes me cringe. And agreed, I don't use the DH abbreviation either. Reading it is fine but using it feels weird to me.

I stopped liking McDonalds fries ever since I found out they used beef flavoring (I don't eat mammals). I don't think they do anymore but I still can't stomach it. I think not liking their fries is the real UO!
In fact as fast food goes I can only really get behind Arby's. Curly fries! Jamocha shakes! And their chicken fingers are actually pretty decent. They actually appear to be made out of chicken.

You might be right on the fries thing...I just feel like soooooo many people talk about how disgusting McDonalds is...and yet they sell more burgers than anywhere.
I do love Arby's too though...their curly fries are pretty darn good! AND they have jalapeño poppers, at least they used to...so for all you ladies wanting poppers...
My UO is the bashing of cops and the memorials for the criminals! It has become ridiculous. I understand that there are always bad apples, but personal responsibility, accountability and respect have just about disappeared from society. I can't imagine how difficult the job of protecting our community is and now the risk is even higher. If you want to protest about cops killing someone don't make a criminal the poster child for that.
I think that people posting pictures of their ultrasound on Facebook to announce their pregnancies is really strange. I don't think bad about people who do it, but I never would.
