Infertility

Progesterone - so sick - is this normal?

This is only my second time using progesterone and I am soooo nauseas! I had an IUI yesterday so I started progesterone last night. I don't remember it being this harsh to my system last month. I am severely sick to my stomach. I know progesterone can mimic pregnancy but is it normal to go into effect so soon? FYI, I am using 100 mg Endometrin suppositories twice a day. Thx in advance

  • I think some women can feel super sick. Some are honesty just very sensitive to hormones. It could be something else though. Did you take the progesterone on an empty stomach? Sometimes when I do even now I get sick. I hope you feel better soon.

  • Thank you ladies. I am actually taking the progesterone vaginally so the pharmacist and doc said there was no need to eat with it but judging by my symptoms maybe they were wrong. I will give that a shot.

  • I just started the same dosage on Sunday and haven't felt sick at all.  Did you find out if it was from the progesterone?

  • @babycarrot; you might be more sensitive to it...I take 2 tablets of Prometrium 100mg twice a day (vaginally) and also started last night. Progesterone makes me ridiculously tired. Getting up this morning was brutal, and I'm ready to go to bed! It usually lasts 2-3 days for me, and then it's as if I got used to it. FX this lets up! Maybe ask your RE if you can lower the dose a bit?
  • I'm sorry you are so sick!!! Progesterone just makes me a huge B****
