Agreed 100%  (Though I will admit we did use it to bribe DS to go down a waterslide in Mexico a few weeks ago, HAHA!  MOTY right here!)

Wait, what? Like, in a carseat?

Edit because maybe I misinterpreted FF...are you referring to formula feeding? Cause that's totally ok, unlike front facing in a car seat!

Ha, was in a rush so I didn't write much. Yes, I mean formula feeding. I believe BF is best and it's a great thing for mom and baby, but it's so hard for me. I felt SO much guilt and pressure to BF and was almost ashamed to FF around BF moms.

  • @Poppy16, whew! :P

I think the shaming of BF/FF needs to stop. What's best is what works well for both baby and mom. I would like to BF, but not sure if I will be able to due to some surgeries, so I'm trying not to get my heart set on it.

  • I'm not excited about being pregnant this time around. I had a m/c two months ago and I'm afraid to get attached to 2.0 like I did the last one. Hoping for the best but preparing for the worst, I guess.
  • I think Facebook is 95% ridiculous and I deleted my account years ago. I don't care, or need to know what you had for dinner, did this afternoon, or who you are "in a relationship" with. And you don't need to know that about me either.

Yep, I have 2. My 14 mo I will do what I can to get to eat, he's still little, but he usually eats whatever I give him. My 3yo goes in spurts, but lately he only wants a couple bites of dinner and is done. And he's fine. He usually eats a good lunch, so I don't worry.

Eh, when kids are hungry, they'll eat what's given to them.

Apparently it's unpopular in most of the pregnant women I know but I don't think there's anything wrong with getting genetic testing done during pregnancy

I think this too, to an extent. My mother takes everything on Facebook soooo seriously. She gets offended if I don't "like" her photos. I've considered deleting it before, but we have relatives in Florida, Texas, California and DC who don't see DS very much, so they like to see/hear updates about him. Plus there's a lot of good local mommy support groups on Facebook.

I agree that there's nothing wrong with it. For DH and I, we decided we wouldn't do anything special if we did hear something during pregnancy compared to after the birth, but we also don't have a family history of any major genetic diseases. If we had a history I'm sure we would do the testing just for time to process, research and prepare for any special needs.

Exactly this. People keep saying  to me "We aren't doing any testing bc we are going to love the baby anyways". As if a mother who finds out her child has Spina Bifida or Down's Syndrome suddenly is going to decide she doesn't love that baby. It's really hurtful.

I don't think there's anything wrong with getting or not getting genetic testing but the insinuation that it has anything to do with whether or not you love your child is insulting.

Sorry, I've literally heard this about 4 times in the past few weeks and I can't even.

I think the problem is that people assume the screening is so that parents can choose to abort if the test shows a disability/disorder. It sucks that that's the assumption because it could be a really worthwhile way for parents to prepare for needs once their child is born.

My son is almost two and a  half and he has gotten SO picky. We started with a lot of baby-led weaning at 6 months and he LOVEd to chew/suck on asparagus spears, pieces of bell pepper, etc.. and now he FREAKS out and will not touch vegetables. Lately he is picky and doesn't want eat "real" food (like hot/cooked food)... he just wants cold cuts and snack-type foods. He will do great at breakfast and lunch but not eat dinner at all. Like not touch a bite. I never make him separate food (unless we're having fish bc he's allergic), but I will give him some fruit, like a banana or something, if he doesn't eat anything else. I struggle over whether that's giving in/making him pickier, but at the same time, I don't want him to go to bed hungry and be waking up in the night because of it. We both work full-time and need our sleep!

Will he eat smoothies? I can sneak spinach, kale, butternut squash and a ton of fruit into a smoothie for DS. I've gotten lazy about making them lately though.

yes he loves smoothies! Those and pouches are the ONLY way I can get veggies into him. He is just getting pickier by the day, I swear!

Agreed. I didn't go to my BIL and his wife's reveal in protest. I think it is such a dumb thing.
