Where did the sympathy go?

I don't know about you guys. But when I first told people I was pregnant, I got a LOT of special treatment (that I loved, but did not need or ask for). My friends, family, and husband were constantly asking me if I needed anything, they wouldn't smoke anywhere near me, and people were constantly just stopping by with random food, vitamins, and anything else that might make me smile. But that was like weeks 5-8. Now that I'm huge and in pain and starving constantly, it's all gone. For example, yesterday while I was counting kicks I asked my husband to bring me a glass of water to try and wake baby up. He was so annoyed with me he went on forever about how I have two legs and he's tired of me milking this. And apparently NOW is the time that it's okay to smoke in the car with me. Anybody else out of sympathy?

  • As with anything new and shiny the novelty wore off. Pregnancy isn't a disease so you don't need sympathy but people also aren't going to wait on you hand and foot. A glass of water or empathy when your having a bad day is one thing - are you expecting special treatment everyday? Because that's not going to happen. And in most cases when the baby is here people will completely ignore you so be prepared for that lol
  • Yes! They wanna be super helpful when it was unnecessary and now that it is actually necessary nobody wants to do anything! Like hello I'm a walking bowling ball (or two). Please!
