Re: 19 weeks today!!!

  • 19 weeks exactly here also, with a Jan. 6th due date! My scan is on 8/24, we already know we're having a boy thanks to the blood work, but I'm so excited to see him bigger and moving around! The time went faster a few weeks after we got the thumbs up on the healthy front now I feel like it's slowed down again.

From what I remember of DD's pregnancy, yeah it is like a booger.  Oh and you know what else is fun for FTMs?  The bloody show.  Yes, medical term! It's like a really bloody booger. But both are good signs the baby might be on its way! Of course it doesn't happen 100% of the time so don't panic if you don't see it :-)

Get ready for all kinds of gross, lolz

Wait, is it only FTMs that have a bloody show? It doesn't happen any more after the first one - like how you only bleed the first time you have sex??
  • I'm a STM, I never noticed a mucus plug or bloody show with my first... Like a pp said, it doesn't happen to everyone.

I was about to answer that, but you know what, I'm not 100% sure :-) I assumed it could happen during any pregnancy, and that FTMs might be alarmed since they've never experienced it before!

  • Okay, I just wasn't sure how I'd fit in with that because I'm attempting a vbac this time but I didn't actually have any labor last time. So I never had a bloody show or anything and from a labor perspective I've been told to expect more of a FTM labor, but pregnancy-wise I'm definitely a STM. :)

Ahh, i googled mucus plug too, just because I wanted to see if it was that bad. Why do people put pictures of that on the internet?! I guess I'm glad though, I would of freaked out seeing that with no warning!
  • I'm also 19 weeks today. I dont get to see my baby until September 4th however, but hopefully he is good and shows us what he is. Ive been calling him a he since i found out i was pregnant, i dunno why, i just have. Does anyone else find themselves compairing their bumps to other pregnant moms? I have a PA who comes into my work and is 22 weeks but my bump is twice hers in size and we are both only having one baby. Guess i should be thankful im not putting on any weight yet but i still feel huge!

I compare my bump to my last 2 pregnancies, I already have a girl and boy. With my daughter I definatly carried much higher than with my son. I think my bump is starting to move lower like witht my son but hard to tell just yet! Maybe with each pregnancy my body carries the baby lower and lower. We are team green so I guess I will find out in January!!!!

  • I'm 19w4d :D finding out what baby is tomorrow and probably the A/S scan as well not sure if they'll do them both I hope so. My office for u/s is a little drive from my new location.
  • I'll share another fun TMI thing I learned from my "Pregnancy for Dummies" book... sometimes women go poop while in the pushing stage of labor.  Most of them don't notice because 1) they're trying to get a baby out and 2) the nurses wipe it away to keep the area clean.  Don't worry about grossing them out, they've seen it all before ;-)

  • I'm so stubborn. Now I have to google it. Thanks ladies *sarcasm*
  • I think I'm going to have nightmares about the "MP" tonight, despite following the not-google advice 0-0
  • 19 wks due new years
  • Also due January 6th!!! I think it might be a girl! I don't have a clue! I found out a week ago I am having a girl! I had the anatomy scan early...I am on vacation in Florida (Texas girl) ....Disney to be specific... And I wanted to shop at the outlets for my baby. We are almost halfway there! Unreal! I never felt the flutters with this baby like I did with my first.(this is my 2nd child...my 1st is a girl and she is 7yrs) this baby girl is a total ninja....the sono tech told me that she bet I have been feeling this one for a long time because she moves and kicks so much...1/6/2016!!!
