Re: Everyone has baby naming on the brain I'm sure! So what are the names of your furbabies?

  • Our cats are Pippin and Pearl.

The dogs are Gus and Sophie, but those are the names they came with from the shelter.

  • Benzin is my oldest. She is a Rhodesian ridgeback mix.

My youngest just turned a year old last month, his name is Bune. He's a bloodhound Rottweiler mix.
  • Lola and Lilly
  • Bronte and Leelou.

The fluffy tabby cat is Bronte and the confused calico is Leelou.

I am obsessed with The League!
  • I've got one spoiled rotten ruby colored cavalier King Charles spaniel named Bastian. He's definitely our baby so when our first real baby arrives in February he might be a bit jealous.... but he's so loving all the time I think he'll come around
  • We have a 9 year old feist named Penny and a 9 month old shepherd mix named Duke.

Penny was an owner surrender at the shelter and her name was Sasha, but she's too sweet for such a sassy name. Plus, it was clear pretty quickly that she didn't have the best life as Sasha, so I wanted her to have a fresh start.

Duke was found on the streets in the middle of winter at just a few months old by someone my H knows through work, and he eventually ended up with us. We considered naming him Nickel (to go with Penny) but he's a wild child and needed a standalone name.
  • Two tabby cats, both 6 years old.

Gray: Chairman Meow is her given name (DH named both of them), or gray kitty, she kitty
Orange:  Fidel Catstro is his given name, or Fat buddy (he is over 26 lbs...and not a maine coon!)
  • We have two airedales.
    4yr old female named lexi
    6 month make named brio

    Pregnancy Ticker
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • We have two cats and a dog!  Our oldest is Calamity Jane, a black cat who is 7, then Clementine, a little fluffball who has never gotten over 6 pounds despite being 5 years old, and the baby of the fur family is 2 year old Archie, our 20 pound mutt who looks kind of like a mini golden retriever.  :)

  • Our 2 year old female cat is Penny
Our 2 year old male black lab is Ranger
Our 1 year old male chocolate lab is Scout

They are my babies !!! Some spoiling may have to be toned down come February !

We have a English Bulldog named Darla. If you know anything about Bulldogs we have named her tongue as well.... Judy. Darla the bulldog and Judy the Tongue :) They may, or may not, have their own hashtag.
We didn't name Rocco's tongue, but I have to ask lol, does her tongue quiver when she sniffs something really interesting? His tongue looks like it's shaking and he drips drool.
Not bad.... We always laugh because she is a little attention whore and when she gets frustrated she will huff and puff with that tongue hanging out a good 3 inches... The site is priceless and very entertaining!
Hahaha. Rocco had his tongue out really far once, not usually though. We actually took a pic, bc it was so far out. He looks like the joker when he smiles. They aren't joking when they say Bulldogs have their own code of rules. We call it "errring" (probably the same as her huff and puff). He errs at you until you do whatever it is he wants. If it's his, it's his, if it's yours it's his, if it's broke it's his... He's 73lbs and thinks he's a lap dog, so heavy. Love everything about him, minus the health problems.
Oh yes, the lap dog. I could NOT imagine 73 pounds. Darla is maybe pushing 45. She is pretty tiny compared to the norm. We are fortunate that the only health problem she has, besides terrible skin hives during the summer, is a heart murmur. Its a decent one but not treated with meds because she has no symptoms from it. Just because we spoke of it, I have to post a picture of Judy...

  • Our 1.5 yo border collie mutt is named Gracie. I wanted to name her Tipper since my MIL's maiden name was Tapper and then we could call her Tipper Tapper or Tip Tap for short. But my husband wouldn't go for it. Maybe next dog. Gracie came from Coach and Tami Taylor's daughter on Friday Night Lights
  • Fitzgerald or Fitz as we like to call him, is our half jack russel half Italian greyhound mix. He just turned 8 months old. He is a rescue pup that came from some pretty sad circumstances. Such a good boy even as a puppy and we are pretty sure he knew we were pregnant before we did!

My mother and in-laws are convinced he is the reason why we got pregnant.... That my maternal instincts kicking in had something to do with him!

Love the little guy and he will always be our first born :)
  • 4 year old Airedale named Walter and 2 year old terrier mix named Tilly!

Oh man that sucks about the murmur, at least it's not too bad. I love her lol haha the pic is great. I wish I had Rocco's tongue pic on my phone. He has low thyroid and has meds twice a day for it. He has mild cherry eye that we are able to pop back in, if that makes sense the vet says entropian (mild though). Oh and when I was 9 months pregnant with my son he had to have emergency surgery, because his bladder was full of 100+ stones and some were huge clumps, and one got stuck in his uretha. His bladder was the size of a football and paper thin. He stayed in the hospital for awhile. He showed no pain it was crazy.

Edited: sorry for the two pics. Didn't think the first one was there and showed up when I tried to get the other one. And I so wish Rocco was only 45lbs lol.

Oh my gosh. Look at that fat little thing, I want to squeeze his face! Im sorry he has so many health problems, I didn't realize that they could even have all of that. I actually had a chihuahua that passed away last october that had diabetes. He had to get insulin shots twice daily. That whole experience was completely new to me! Darla has hot spots right now that we are trying to keep under control, this humid weather just irritates her skin to no end! I hear thats common for bulldogs though. She almost had to have the cone of shame last summer!

  • 2-8 month mini schnauzers from the same litter, Oskar and Gwen. They are rotten as ever, but we love them anyway. I am a FTM and a little nervous how they will do with the new baby though.

Oh definitely a chubby guy. I call him squishy face lol, and ask him if I can pet his cheeks, bc they are so soft. He lets me sometimes lol. We feed him wellness grain free turkey and potato. His allergies are much better on the better quality food and no grains. If we give him the salmon and potato grain free he gets "tasty freeze" poop. We always have to wipe his butt though after he goes outside lol. Oh the life of being a bulldog mom. Have you tried grain free for her allergies? He's my first dog with health problems. My husband claims he researched the breed lol. But Bulldogs need trust funds to be able to afford the vet bills. They are prone to sooooo many health problems. I've talked to a few breeders and such who plan to start breeding the nose back in, because of the subsequent breathing and heart problems that result. His stuff didn't start showing up until he was about two years old, so we thought we got lucky with him. I still constantly worry about the bladder and stones coming back. Also, I noticed his eyes are much better (don't get green goo AS MUCH) when he gets a bath every two weeks. And no carpet helps too. I can't imagine having to give a shot twice a day. Did he mind it, or did he get used to it? Rocco gets his pills in baby food the meat kind. Lol he won't take it in anything else.

@22scn12 Holy crap, you have to wipe him? Bless it! I think her skin allergies are mainly to the outside during the summer. We have no problems during the other 3 seasons. If she did I would look into that, I hadn't though of that.

The chihuahua, Joey, he didn't mind. He was a hateful ol thing that only warmed up to me and my mother. It was pitiful though.

Edited to say: formally TheBeggsBunch :)
