Gee, I dunno... My mom used to give me Bonne Bell lip balm and, man, I loved it... Ha ha! I guess my daughter can start slow like me. Bonne Bell in elementary and middle school, Clinique blush and light lipstick in high school, and when she gets into college, she can do whatever she wants...
LOL. When DD turned 13, I took her and got her totally set up with clinique, but we told her on a day to day basis, she could only wear mascara and lip gloss. Now she'll do more eye make-up, but most days she goes without. It's really cute when she dresses up for stuff like school dances and all that though.

Is Clinique the go-to brand for high schoolers?! I loved it... So light, but it did a good job back then. Now that I'm a hag, I need Bobbi Brown and Bare Escentuals! Ha ha!
This very question came up this Christmas with my niece who is 10. I wanted to buy her some little lip glosses and some shimmery eye shadow. I thought it would be fun. My SIL didn't think so much at the time I mentioned but then when out and got her some. If I had a 10 year old I would let her wear stuff like that. NO eyeliner or mascara but I think a little lip gloss and glitter (KIDS) eye shadow is ok IMO.
When would you allow your daughter to start wearing some makeup.
Elle is not allowed to wear makeup until her wedding day! lol
I never thought much about makeup until a few months before my wedding when I realized that I was gonna get married in the land of tacky make up artists (my husband's small town in India!). I wish I'd been more proactive about it because my pictures look really horrible!!
I think simple shimmery lip balm would be ok for a young kid but no eye make up (even shimmery stuff) until 12 or so and definitly no eye liner, mascara etc until 13ish. My little girl will have her nails painted young though! Ears will be pierced at 6 months as long as my ped. says its ok and she can shave her legs at 10ish. That was the age that I was allowed to.
Re: s/o makeup and when to allow kids to do certain stuff
NEVAH! She will be a hag! LOL!
