Implantation bleeding or positive test?

im wondering when most women tell their husbands they're pregnant? Do you tell them when you experience implantation bleeding or wait until you have a positive test? I just don't know that implanting is a sure thing but I'm so excited and want to tell him.

  • Wait until you have a positive pregnancy test.

  • Since you can't actually know that the bleeding is attributed to implantation until after you've confirmed pregnancy, you would want to wait until you get a positive pregnancy test.

By all means if you want to keep him in the loop, you can tell him you're spotting and you *might* be pregnant this cycle, but I wouldn't utter the words "I'm pregnant" til you've gotten that +

Really? There's no way to know if it's IB unless you're looking in hindsight. Wait for the positive HPT!

  • I would definitely wait for a positive test since you cannot know for sure you are having implantation bleeding until you see that positive test.

Seriously ?? Most people wait to see of they are actually pregnant before announcing it.

  • I mean, you guys talk to your husbands, right? When I had what I thought was implantation spotting I told my husband "I think you knocked me up again" and he asked when I could reliably take a pregnancy test. Lo and behold, I'm pregnant.

I didn't announce that I was pregnant but we had an adult conversation about it.

  • I mean I've always kept my husband in the loop about this stuff so if there's any chance I'm pregnant I make sure to give him a heads up and say that I MIGHT be, but I'm not going to go around saying I am based on symptoms alone. Definitely would wait to get that BFP.

Hi there, I am 7 weeks and I have been bleeding for 5 days now, on the 3rd day I went to my OB and he said he sees something in the uterus and all is well, I cant help but worry cause today I passed two clots but I'm not in pain.

Indeed.  I talk to my husband LOTS as adults do.  However, it also took me 7 months to get pregnant.  After a while you don't assume every little thing means pregnancy.  I told him when I had a positive pregnancy test.

  • I waited until I had a positive test, but he didn't believe me until I'd taken 4. ;)
  • He probably won't believe it til he sees a positive test. You know him best. If he is the type to worry or get his hopes up, just wait til you have a better idea what's going on. If you normally share things like this just tell him you think it might have happened and you will be able to test in ____ days.

Not sure what this has to do with the OP....

I suppose it's better than starting a new thread for this non-question ?

  • There is no way to know if the spotting is implantation bleeding, most of the time women only realize it in hindsight after they get a positive.

I've been pregnant 4 times and never had implantation bleeding. However, I have had my period hundreds of times and I usually spot before AF. So, if I was spotting, pregnancy would be the last thing on my mind.

True, but it's kind of rude to try to hijack someone's thread with a totally unrelated topic.
  • I'm so sorry, I'm still getting a hang of this. My apologies ladies
