Losing my mind

These hormones have me seriously going CRAZY! I'm so impatient with my 2.5 year olds that I could just cry. It seriously has me wondering why I ever thought adding another was a good idea. That is horrible! Why are my toddlers so freaking whiney!!!

Mommas unite, please tell me I'm not alone!

Re: Losing my mind

  • You are not alone! I have a 9 year and 22 month old... It's crazy at my house. I just told my husband I had no patience with the toddler right now. I know it'll get easier but I feel so bad sometimes that I'm not more patient.

  • I hear ya!! I don't know if my one year old is teething or what is going on right now but it's just constant whining and tears and clinging to my leg. I have zero patience with this right now and am wondering how the hell I'm going to handle myself when I have a new born and a 20 month old. What were we thinking?! I'm seriously questioning my parenting ablilites and hope I find the patience to deal.

  • All DS wants right now is an apple. He will walk around the house crying apple, apple, apple, over and over until you finally give in and give the kid an apple. Then once he has the apple he bites into it, chews it up, sucks all the juice out and spits the remains all over the place..... seriously? This is my life now.

So no, you aren't alone. I wonder if the toddlers can smell the pregnancy hormones on us and they just know that they can act a fool and we will go crazy? It has to been entertainment for them right?

  • My normally "pretty good" toddler threw an all out knock down tantrum thismorning because I wouldn't let her wear her princess dress to day care. 7am is too early for screaming!! She's been acting out more and more lately ughhh

  • At the moment I have a sick 2.5 y/o. He hasn't slept the last 2 nights, I work all day, then go home and cook. Oh and we made a trip to urgent care last night. All with no help because DH is working nights. I'm looooooooosing my MIND!!

  • I'm right there with you with my 22 month old! Some days are better/worse then others but man I really wonder if I can handle another LO most days. I tell myself this is normal to feel this way and I really believe this is the reason I'm having trouble feeling excited about LO #2 and it actually feeling real. It definitely feels different then the 1st time around but hopefully we'll all adjust to our new normals with some time!
  • My 2 year old won't keep a diaper on but refuses to poop on the potty. He also clings to me like a leech. Plus he's as hard headed as a teenager so it is an all out battle of the wills between him and I about EVERYTHING from picking up toys to brushing his teeth to going night night. Some days I just cry. No you are not alone and I second the idea that they can sense we are pregnant.
  • You're definitely not alone. I have 3 children, they are a little older, but since being pregnant my patience has been super thin, and I get annoyed with the littlest things. Thank goodness school starts in a week, so they won't be bored anymore with my first trimester yuckiness!!

  • So not alone. My toddler has started asking Why? to everything. He's not even three yet. I thought this phase didn't happen until later and I have no patience for it anymore. I go straight to Because I said so. Feel like a mommy failure all the time.
@britsknits11 - Heck no to pooping on the floor. (If it was me, I would break out the duck tape to keep that diaper on.) Sorry you're going through that.

  • Definitely not alone!! I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. My mornings always start out with positive thoughts about having 3 and excitement for this pregnancy but then the evenings usually end with "I can't believe I'm pregnant, what the heck am I thinking?!" And nothing else accomplished. I'm so overwhelmed sometimes, but I know it will work out.. It has too. These hormones are killer though, ugh.

  • All I have is a dog ladies, but I wish you all the best of luck, and some rest. That always helps right :)
  • Ugh my patience is so thin right now. I have a 4 year old, 2 dogs & I'm a two year old teacher at a early learning center... So that's 19 two year olds DAILY!
  • Kids or not these hormones have got to chill the F out! I am about to FREAK OUT!

I have 4 fur babies (this will be my first child) but seriously I go from crazy ***** to a sobbing mess in less than 2.2!  I work at an academy full of kiddos too so work has had my mood all over the place these days.  I really feel bad when I go off on someone but I have no control!

My daughter is 2 and asks "why" and "what's that?" To everything. Every noise. Every person. Ahhhhh.

X_X oh man, 19 of them I can't even begin to imagine that!!
  • My toddler is the same as always *knock on wood*
But I am losing my mind, h apparently vacuumed the living room this evening while dd and I were laying on the couch. I somehow never heard him get out the vacuum, or actually vacuum around the living room and directly next to the couch!
Must have been a really awesome episode of doc mcstuffins
  • I keep telling myself "this is only a phase, this is only a phase, this is only a phase", it's my mantra right now. My daughter is turning 4 in November and her whining today got to me, apparently the "sun is too hot", "the water is too cold", and "nothing is good to eat". She's not usually like this, she's just having a bad couple of weeks, but that whining can be like nails on a chalkboard after awhile.

  • Add me to the list. I've actually cried over this... Feeling like such a crappy parent and wondering if I'm even cut out for this one, let one alone another! Awful feelings.

Oh man I can't even imagine 6 two year olds for in home daycare. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 4 month old (just helping out family because I stay at home and fully regretting my decision) plus my 14 month old and some days I don't know if I'm going to make it through the day alive.

  • I have a 6, 4 and 2 year old and I'm finding I have seriously no patience for the older 2. They should know better and be my little helpers. Instead they are making my days so difficult! Can't wait for school to start again!
