FTM and I've never heard about your belly dropping before. what exactly does it mean? I feel like he sits so low already that it'd be impossible for him to get any lower.
Some babies don't "drop." Dropping is when baby will lower itself into the birth canal and sit right on the pelvis. Low babies can still drop, but like I said not all babies noticeably do this. My mother had 4, I was the only one to drop. If your baby happens to drop its very noticeable visually and you will feel it. My mother decribed it as holding a bowling ball between her legs, when my daughter dropped it was just constant feeling of pressure.
These were taken about 10 days apart. I definitely noticed a significant difference between before baby dropped and after. With my second pregnancy, I didn't feel baby drop at all. He stay nice and high until labor. Like PP said, it doesn't happen to everyone or every pregnancy.
Well this clarifies it for me. With my first I didn't know about dropping so I didn't even think about it but now I check my belly daily to see if it has happened. I have been feeling pressure for a couple of weeks but I don't think baby has dropped... oh well whether she does or not she is coming eventually LoL
