So now that we are starting to hit our second trimesters and it seems that a lot of us are ready for a Facebook group I'm going to bite the bullet and start one. I know not everyone is ready and that is fine you can join when you are ready. This group will be a SECRET group so no one will be able to find it by search or see what is posted. If you're ready send me a PM with your name and a brief profile picture description. I will add you as a friend and add you to the group. Please let me know if your interested in being an admin of the group.

ETA: I am having trouble adding people by their emails for some reason. You may want to add Name and profile picture description to help me find and add you.

Same. Another reason I think it's too early for FB is with how report happy people are. Last thing I need is someone overly-sensitive reporting something I say on Facebook and getting locked out of my Facebook account or whatever.

Also, mod's on the Facebook group are kind of an important thing imo so it maybe should be figured out later!

AND if it's announced a lot here with so many drive bys you will have randoms asking about it.

My old Bmb created a Facebook profile then you had to request to friend this account and they would then add you to the group. Kept the group closed 100%
This gave them plenty of time to check the bump and make sure you were a reg as well. There are two mod's that run that account and they work closely in adding people who are legit

I am def. checking into the post histories of the people asking to join! They way my group did it was just to friend the MOD who would add them to the group and them once added you can de friend if you wish.

You can email an invite to the group directly and then you don't have to friend everyone. Pro tip since I started and modded one of S13's FB groups.

You participate often enough that people recognize your name basically.

You don't post a ss and then never return or come back in a few days to reply or never reply. That's about it really.

Once you've started the group, in the top right corner there is a box that says Members, and there's a bar to add your friends, or underneath that you can click "Invite by Email" and enter their email. Then the person has to follow the link in their email and they can join without friending anyone.

Yeah no, not doing this. I really only see like 10 ladies on here that are pretty active at this stage. I think it's way too soon to be doling out personal info. I'd prefer to wait until 3rd Tri for the FB group. At least by then we will all know who's sticking around and who I actually get along with enough to want to hang out with on FB.

I waited until my girls were 7 months old to join my other BMB and during that time half the group had already split due to some falling out that I'm glad I missed. Not saying I'll wait that long again because i do feel like I missed out a bit because of joining too late but I'll probably wait until the next round of people being added occurs.

I'm in. In my last bmb group, we left it open for a few weeks and let anyone join that wanted to, and then closed it. To me it seemed like we got to know everyone and support each other through the pregnancy and then since we closed it, there we no new random people once we had the babies. My nov 12 group still has 200 or so people on the fb group.

I checked out the people who requested to be in the Facebook group and they've all been pretty active since the start. I think it's just a really large group of women so it's hard to remember/ recognize everyone here. We will all have our own set of people we connect with and consider regulars but just because you don;t recognize someone doesn't make them non regulars. IMO If you're willing to join the facebook group at any point I'd say you're not just a fly by member.

Shoot me a PM with your info and I'll add you. I'm thinking since we are starting it sooner than everyone is ready I'll leave it open until the end of February at the latest. There's time to discuss that though.

I'm just jumping into my 2nd tri on Thursday and just feel that it's too early. Definitely something I'd consider further down the road though.

Can we guarantee the crazies will kept out? Lol

Not really, haha. Still LOTS of time for people to show their crazy. Hence why a lot of us are hesitant to join a group right now.

Yeah see 200 people in a secret group is WAY too many for me. In my anni board, we have 31 and it's perfect. We started with about 40 and a few people left and we booted others that were inactive just cuz we didn't want them to see our personal stuff when everyone else was so involved.

Yeah i agree with most of the ladies. It's just too early. It's still early and there are a lot of people wandering in and out of the boards. I think maybe once things settle down and we know who's sticking around that might be a good time. I think i joined my groups facebook around 6 months pregnant last time. And it's been great, so I do know the benefits of a facebook group.

I try to stay up on being involved but it can be hard working full-time as well as having constant stuff come up. Hopefully I'm not in the "drive by" category. I really try to post and look at stuff as much as possible!

I was in the July 2014 board. And we had an admin who was really active and seemed pretty cool. Everyone liked her. We stayed around the entire time. Well, we didn't find out she was a catfish until after we all had our babies. Then she was discovered by one of our other regs by piecing together things. This lady was also in our fb group that was created fairly "early" on. She faked EVERYTHING! She had pictures of her "children" which were actually stolen pictures from other people online! Be careful girls...

Wow that is crazy! Kind of just goes to show that regardless of how long you've "known" someone online unless you meet IRL they may not be who you think they are.

I was on this board too and I how do I not remember this?! Yikes! Scary stuff.

ETA: I just realized I wouldn't have known because I didn't stick around after my daughter was born. I kind of fell off the face of everything.

That's crazy!! Maybe admins of the FB group should check each persons profile for when they joined FB? I think most everyone at least has had a FB for the last several years, if not longer. If they just made it this month maybe that should send off some warning bells? Not sure if that is plausible, just an idea.
