Re: For my new April moms, how are you feeling?

  • Hi ladies, I just wanted to quickly ask if HCG levels of 409 at 4 weeks 1 day is relatively normal? I know this might be a silly question I'm a first time mum-to-be so this is all such a questionable time for me! Thank you

  • 409 sounds fabulous! Mine was 80 at 4 weeks. Recheck in a few days to check on the doubling time.
  • Hello! I'm 27 and we were TTC baby#2. We started about 4 weeks ago and I'm 4 weeks today, yikes! We are so excited to be giving our 4 year old daughter a sibling as I am a twin and can't imagine not having one!

I am feeling pretty good, sore breast and nipples and cramping like mad. I've had a sore lower back for a few days but surprisingly energized and not toooooo moody/emotional (I'm sure the hubs would agree ;))

My last pregnancy I had extreme exhaustion and insomnia starting at about 12 weeks so I'm just hoping to avoid that all together or find some ways to cope with that!

Due date is projected about April 12! I am so excited for the baby bump and the excitement over a new little life.

    Congratulations to you all! :):):)
  • I'm about 29.  This is my second.  I guess I'm about 4 weeks this Friday.  I'm due April 15th.  My first will be two in September.  I've been married for 4 years.

I feel fatigued often, nauseated here and there, and dizzy a lot.  I had really bad morning sickness with my first that lasts until I was 20 weeks.

I'm 29, also my second. the due date calculator says that I haven't even implanted based on my cycle, so I'm not going to know my due date until i have a dating ultrasound. My cycles ranged from 16-43 days! I'm pretty shocked I got pregnant!

I've known I was pregnant for the last 10 days, this girl doesn't puke ever; unless she is pregnant. I had really bad morning sickness with my first, that lasted till...wait for it....delivery :(

I'm expecting the worst but hoping for the best :) but on the plus side I've never once had sore boobs! lol

*edited for spelling. I am the WORST
  • I'm 4 weeks 3 days due April 9th so far I'm just crampy, bloated, fatigue and get dizzy fast. So excited this will be our 4th!
  • @thaisac1 thank you! I know I probably shouldn't be worrying myself I'm getting some more blood work done today to see how the doubling time has gone. I can't believe how much these first couple of weeks can get you thinking in overtime!!
  • Knottie13717847 Yes!  We got married on June 6th of this year.  I was hoping for a honeymoon baby but it looks like baby had other ideas... this is our first baby and first pregnancy so lots of learning ahead for us!
  • Hello! I am 4w5days today and feeling tired and my boobs are a little sore. Also peeing an awful lot!
  • I'm 4w3d and I've been crampy, bloating, exhausted, headaches, and hot. I've had a way of nausea once, no sore boobs (yet). I don't mind the symptoms too much- they keep me assured. Keep hanging in there ladies!
  • I'll be 4 weeks tomorrow. No symptoms other than slightly sore boobs. I usually don't start to feel anything until week 6, so I'm hoping I have another few weeks of being symptom free!
  • I have had sore boobs and horrible GI trouble.  I actually called my Dr yesterday because i have lost 2 lb in 2 weeks without trying and haven't had a normal poo in 2 1/2 weeks. she has me now on a super bland diet because we need to rule out a GI infection. This is my first after ttc for 3 years

  • Hello congrats to all the April mommies. Im about 5 weeks on our first baby and the symptoms kicked in fast. Im having sore boobs, headaches and nausea all day. So much for it being called morning sickness. Same as Disneygirl921 im having horrible GI issues as well on top of the pregnancy symptoms. How is everyone handling the nausea while at work as well as the other symptoms. Super excited as we have been trying for over 6 months but not looking forward to dealing with the non fun symptoms it comes with.
  • @worldsokayestmom I'm right there with you. I am four weeks on Sunday. Super excited but still nervous as it is SO early. Trying to keep the positive vibes alive :)
  • 6 weeks and the exhaustion is UNREAL. All I want to do is sit on the couch and watch TV. I have no motivation to do anything.

  • Hi girls! I'm so nervous as I haven't written in this before! I found out I was pregnant on my 29th birthday only 4 days ago and I'm 5 weeks Saturday with my first! I've been really crampy! Feel like I'm getting my period and it's made me so anxious! I've already been to the doctor and he told me this was normal. I have Endometriosis so I'm literally panicked! I just want a healthy baby but I'm stressing out worrying about cramps! Are any of you the same? Thanks girls! X
  • 5w 1d today! Feeling pretty great, just praying this one comes to term. Had a mc just over a month ago and feeling very blessed to be pregnant again. Sore boobs and super tired of course, but that's it!
  • I totally understand the fear about cramping, but from what I hear it is totally normal and usually a good sign, as long as there isn't any bleeding or sever pain on one side. You're probably doing great, but it doesn't hurt to be in touch with the doctor as much as you feel comfortable doing so.
  • adrimidas, how did your 2nd bloodwork come out? 409 sounds great for 4 weeks! I have had very similar symptoms to you...hunger is crazy, kind-of sore nipples, but not too sore, cramping, and fatigue. Wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy!
  • I'm 33 (well, 34 next month) and 4w2d (according to o date) pg with my 2nd. My daughter is 3.5 and I've been married almost 5 Years.
I've been bleeding since my bfp which is nerve wracking but I bled my entire first pregnancy and she turned out perfect so I'm trying not to worry.
  • I'm 30 and BF is 31. We've been together almost 5 years. I have PCOS and I had previously tried with my ex husband for 2 years and was on clomid then. We did not expect to be able to get pregnant without help so we are glad to be expecting this miracle baby. I am 4w5d. Due April 12th.

I have sensitive nose, huge sore boobs, nauseous all day, exhausted in the afternoon but wake up for the day at 4-5am, frequent peeing, can't get comfortable already in bed. Cannot get enough orange juice.

  • Hello, I'm 5w5d with my second child. I have an 8 year old daughter and feel like I'm starting over. I am currently experiencing frequent urination, very heightened sense of smell and stay exhausted almost all day. I have had very little nausea so far and it passes quickly which is very different from my first. I have also had some cramping almost everyday but nothing alarming with that. Has anyone found a way to up their energy level? I work 12 hour shifts and this sucks lol...
  • @projectminilloyd just went in to get my results yesterday really happy with the news so last Friday my levels were at 409 and from Friday to Wednesday they reached 3272 so they are increasing nicely and my doctor is happy!

I have my first aging u/s on the 17th because my doctor is now a little unsure how far along I actually am! I have very a irregular cycle so technically counting from my first day of my LMP I'm approaching 7 weeks pregnant however my levels are that of someone who is approaching 5 weeks so he just wants to confirm with my u/s. He said not to worry though because my levels are all within range regardless of the difference and they a rising nicely so now I just want to know how far a really am haha.

My symptoms have been really bipolar haha one second I can feel them all and then there's points throughout the day that I don't even feel pregnant! It's crazy how our bodies work! I wish you a healthy and easy pregnancy :) xx
  • @adrimidas, that is awesome!!! Your levels sound perfect and it's great to hear they increased so much in such a short period of time! My symptoms are also "bipolar"...one minute I have lots of symptoms and the next I don't feel pregnant at all! I got blood taken last Monday and my HcG was a 908 (about 4 weeks, 4 days). Going again tomorrow to get more blood taken and hoping the number will increase! Looking forward to hearing about your u/s on the 17th! Crossing fingers it goes perfectly for you!
  • I have not been to the doctors yet. Waiting till I move out of the college dorm next week. But with my calculation and when I ovulate I am 4 weeks and 5 days. Today was the first day I woke up dry heaving and having bile from not eating yet. The only thing that keeps reminding that I am pregnant is that me stomach. Not my lower abdominal area or uterus. But my stomach hurts 24/7 and I feel nausea a lot of the time to. Just resting and being lazy till my body stretches and shifts to what it needs be.
But other then that just waiting till my second trimester. Congratulations to all other mama's!
  • Feeling good! Slightly sore boobs, but that's it. I could cry just thinking about being pregnant- I am SO SO SO HAPPY! I'm still on cloud 9!

I had hyperemesis with my last 2 pregnancies, though. So ask me again in 3 weeks. :)
  • This is my third pregnacy. I am 6 weeks today. My children are 14 and 16 so there is a gap between them and not the same father.

I have been feeling horriable very sore breasts, exhausted, nauseous, bloated. I'm so hungry but every time I eat I feel sick. I stick to light food and eat many times a day and that helps a little. I never felt this way with my other 2 but I was also younger. Still excited and happy even though I feel crappy.
  • Hello all! I'm 5w2d and this is my first. I just got married in the beginning of July so this is definitely a honeymoon baby. I've had some cramping and just feel tired all the time. Had to take a nap today and I'm sure I'll s be ready for bed by 8:30 tonight :)

Feeling very excited but still nervous about everything!
  • I'm 25 and this is my first pregnancy. I'm 4 weeks and I already have a number of symptoms lol. My husband and I have been married two years and we just bought a house last year. We had always said neither of us wanted kids but then when we settled into our house and became financially secure all of the sudden everything changed. This was my first cycle of trying and I can't believe how lucky I got! Good luck to everyone!

  • I'm 27 and this is my second pregnancy. I think I'm just about 4 weeks pregnant, but I'm not positive when I ovulated, so +/- 4 days or so. So far, I'm just exhausted. I'm still BFing my first (not quite 10 months old), so I'm curious to see if breast tenderness will still happen. This was our first cycle trying to conceive and I'm shocked that it happened this quickly, but I'm so excited! Good luck everyone!

  • Sore boobs were my first symptom with my son, even before I knew.. in fact, that was prompted me to take a test. Havne't had any symptoms yet with this one except a killer headache for a couple days.

OP, are you married? Or engaged? I'm confused. @jackiielizabeth

Hey everyone! I'm 5w2d and this will be our first! My husband and I have been married for 2 years, and decided on our anniversary mini-getaway that it we were ready to start a family...I'm pretty sure we took care of it on that exact day!

So far, I've been tired....like super tired! I can sleep for 8 hours, and have a baseline sleepiness all day. I haven't told my staff what's going on yet; I was able to get away with it by telling them I've quit coffee cold turkey (which is also true!)

I also have started the hyper sensitive smelling, which, in my line of work, is going to be a challenge!

Lastly, I've been having some nausea. It's fairweather, so I'm hanging in there.

    Good luck to you ladies!!
  • I'll only be 4 weeks on Wednesday so I feel nothing yet. I wasn't even planning on testing as early as I did so I would have had no idea yet. Not looking forward to being sick all the time but I'll do it for a baby :)
  • 6w and now I'm waking up in the middle of the night starved. Little queezy every now and then, but no heaving. Ginger tea and mint tea are life savers! Anyone else can't sleep because they are hungry? What do you eat?
  • I am 25 & pregnant with my 2nd. My husband & I have been married for 4 years & we have a (very) active 2 1/2 year old boy. This tine took about the same amount of time to get pregnant as the first time. I was on HBC & when I went off, 4 months later, pregnant! We couldnt believe it happened so quick both time. I hope you dont miscarry after trying for so long.

This baby is already being a handful. Last week I had moments of being nauseous & I was having hip pain at night. Now I am feeling better (which worries me a little) but I am still tired all the time which was how I felt with my first pregnancy. Today I plan to call the schedule my first appointment!

@korpatch I kept crackers by the bed during first tri last time! I found that when I was really queasy and hungry all the time, carbs were really the only thing I could eat. I ended up gaining more weight than I would like during first tri, but it evened out throughout the course of my pregnancy :-) So my diet of ginger ale and cheez-itz was okay, haha.

  • I'm 5w4d and during week 4 I had period like back aches. Not nearly as bad as my period though. Now I have constant bloating and occasional cramps and nausea. I think it may have to do with the tilt of the uterus, I think I read that somewhere!
