  • It's not a velociraptor, I can tell.

    It's clearly a pterodactyl!
  • I'm guessing girl :) congrats!
  • In approximately 9 weeks you will find out the sex of your child as a bonus at the anatomy scan.
  • I'm 12 weeks and 4 days, my family and boyfriend all believe I will pop out a boy. You could try the Chinese calendar for the heck of it, it states im also having a little boy. I'm shooting for a girl but something is telling me I will have a boy lol.

At 11 weeks, the genitals are still developing. It's both you could say lol. Until 16-20 weeks earliest I believe 15 weeks is when you can find out if you're having a boy or girl. They do have DNA testing that allows folk to find the gender out as early as 8 weeks.

I want to add about the DNA test, it's really used to test for common chromosomal disorders, not gender. It's generally only offered to women with high risk pregnancies, or who have a history of those disorders in their families. I doubt your Dr. would offer it for just wanting to know the sex of your child, and in the off chance that your Dr. does, insurance will most likely not cover it and it is expensive.

I know, I just thought I add that bit lol. I would do it but meh, I don't mind waiting the extra couple weeks instead of paying who knows how much for it to be done plus from what I've read, there is a slight risk of miscarrying due to it being done. My friend got it done at 9 weeks to test for the gender and surprisingly, her insurance did pay for it though I'm unsure why.

There is no risk of miscarriage with the genetic blood tests. You're thinking of the CVS test and amniocentesis.
  • ummmm. It's not developed enough to tell yet. That's why they don't do "sex check" ultrasound until 15-16 weeks.
