I don't like Adam or Channing. What kind of a name is Channing anyways?!
I also dislike cupcakes or any simple cake with frosting on the top. It's just so booooring. Now if your baked deliciousness has multiple layers of stuff that don't involve just cake and jam, then I'm all over it!
I don't like most frostings. I do make this amazing cake though. You poke holes in a devils chocolate cake, pour evaporated milk in the holes, pile on the cool whip and then crush butterfingers to sprinkle all over the top. MMMM-azing.
Isn't that Better Than Sex Cake?

I don't understand the need for a national breast feeding week. Why can't it be national feed your baby week? I also think mommy wars are dumb and a lot of times provoked by bloggers and opinion sites.

I love dark chocolate, and no thanks on the Adam Levine, or Channing Tatum. Not a huge fan of cake, unless there is ice cream on top...then you can give me all the cake.
My UO: I hate boobs...well *my* boobs, and have no idea why anyone would want theirs bigger unless they literally have none. With DD, my boobs got SO much bigger...went from a C+ to whatever is bigger than a DD. after I was done nursing, I hit the gym like crazy and was so happy they shrunk back down to a C. I was hoping they wouldn't get *as* big this time, but lo and behold, these babies just get bigger each day. I am already at a DD again and dreading what they'll end up like by the end. Ughhhhh
Okay, I hope I'm not breaking any UO thread rules.
While I can understand why people dislike Breastfeeding Awareness week and public kid spanking, I believe strongly that both have a place. If we don't discipline our kids (and spanking may be required for some children for certain transgressions), then they learn they can manipulate us or pick specific times to get away with things and that can do far more harm. That's my opinion.
Breastfeeding is a public health issue. So is hunger. Both deserve their time. Completey different topics though.

I don't get "reality" shows like The Bachelor. And I am so overjoyed that American Idol is going bye bye. About 16 years past due.
I think they are so dumb too! But I still watch the Bachelor...and feel horribly guilty about it the whole time. I get so annoyed I have to turn off the TV. But then there I am watching it the next episode. Even DH gets sucked into it. It must have some kind of brain washing powers.
I am not a huge Italian food fan. It is by far my least favorite food, even pizza. But I will still eat it if that is the only food available.
My mind cannot comprehend not liking the mother of all delicious carb goodness!
Also - I'm meh on Adam Levine, but when I saw him in concert it was like some magical pheromones in the air or something because he became really sexy to me. But the spell was broken after.
My UO - I don't care for Big Bang Theory and I felt actually offended when my beloved Steve Carell, after finishing his last season of The Office, lost out on his emmy to Jim Parsons .
I don't believe spanking is an effective teaching tool. Can you imagine getting hit or hitting your spouse for a "transgression?" We don't hit animals when they misbehave either, or it's called abuse. At it's most basic, spanking is what happens when adults lose control because of their kid's behavior. It's a punishment, not a form of discipline.

I can agree with this in the fact that many do not use spanking in a way that I believe to be effective. I was spanked as a child but maybe only 4-5 times. In addition, every time I was spanked, my parents always waited until they were no longer angry and also first sat me down to explain exactly why I was receiving the spanking. They only used it when they felt they needed to make a point on a very important subject such as lying or telling our siblings "I hate you" which was a big no-no in our house. We were allowed to be mad at each other and express why with words, but never use the word hate. My dad would always cry after he had to spank us. As an adult I can really see that he only did it to reiterate strong values. And I will tell you it only took one spanking to know that I would never lie again.
*Also I want to add that I do NOT believe that just because one was not spanked means that they do not have strong values. DH was never spanked and he has amazing values.

I was just going to post my UO was that I don't agree with spanking in general not just in public.
Adam is okay to me, but I don't get the Channing thing. In fact, I don't think male dancers/strippers are sexy. It's just funny to me. I can't even watch it makes me so uncomfortable.
@kh1824 I blame mine on my super stretched uterus and my abs that separated and never got back together. It's all uterus right now and there's no hiding it
THIS!!! This is exactly where I'm at right now. Thanks '11 and '14 pregnancies!
Ha! I'll get on board with that explanation! Back to back to back babies...poor abs
My UO : I don't understand why anyone would say it's your kids decision to circumcise or not. Or be baptized or not. And that piercing their ear is a matter of personal choice.
Man up and be the parent. It's your job to make decisions for your kids until they have the ability/maturity/intellect to decide on their own!!

Some people think that not making the call on these things one way or the other for their kids IS deciding.

Why would I make unneccessary bodily changes like ear piercing for a child? There's no need for ear piercing so why shouldn't it be a child's choice when they're mature enough? Same with religion, I'll expose my children to all types of beliefs but I won't tell them what religion they have to be. And not circumcising is making a decision, just one not to do something.
I honestly prefer the "dad bod" to the overly-muscular physique. Although the "skinny nerd" is my favorite.
Amen, sister! I married a hot skinny nerd. Those super buff guys do not do it for me. Show me a guy with brains and a Star Wars collection? Ooooooo, baby.
Dark chocolate? Meh.
Snickers? Yes, please!
YES! I'm a skinny-geek lover too. Have to admit though there *IS* one very muscular man that really does it for me - Chris Hemsworth. Otherwise I'll go for the skinny-geek any day. Dark chocolate - I can take it or leave it; I like it, but I'm a savory snacks girl.

I absolutely cannot stand it when I hear someone referring to the father taking care of his kids while the mother is doing something else as babysitting. A parent caring for their children is not babysitting! So condescending to both parents...
I really don't care about repeat questions on message boards. It gives casual learkers a chance to hear others experiences if they missed previous threads and the attitude makes new people afraid to post. I don't know why people care so much.

Agreed. If I see a post about something I've seen before, I just ignore it. No biggie.

It's called bodily autonomy. Put it this way. The foreskin develops from the same tissue that becomes the clitoris. Think about that for a second. Can you imagine if someone sliced off your clitoris when you were a baby? For no damn reason other than it's the perceived cultural norm? That's not parenting. That's brainwashing. Not my body, not my choice.
I am not entirely opposed to spanking but more in the sense of that quick swat on the tush in a situation that needs immediate attention for safety; ie a toddler repeatedly going for an outlet because they are in that "mommy saying no is a game phase". Obviously outlet covers are a must have but the lesson still needs to be taught as not every outlet in public or someone else's house will have a cover. I also feel that yes, there are some children that need the occasional (or 1) spanking to learn a lesson. I grew up in a home-run daycare and am the oldest of 9 children, adopted and blood. There are many personalities out there. Sometimes a spanking makes it worse, others it just takes the once for them to go "Oh, you were serious." Note I will never condone lengthy spankings or spankings with an object. That's beating, not spanking.
UO: I'm not opposed to my kid watching TV so long as it's good TV. No marathoning Cartoon Network crap but learning numbers and such, what's the problem? Especially if you then supplement it with your own lessons.

This was probably more of an unpopular opinion back in 2003... but, I hate Dave Matthews Band. I want to poke my eardrums with a QTip every time I hear one of their songs!
