so fvcking gross- warning- child abuse related
i went on familywatchdog to check and see if there were any sex offenders near my MIL. she lives alone and is older and in NY and i was nervous after watching too much crime tv.
i am so grossed out by the things i found! NY puts a lot of info online about their felons, so there were details regarding ages and such. one man was convicted of raping a 60 year old when he was 29. he lives in a nearby town where she goes to shop a lot. that town, poughkeepsie, has 105 registered sex offenders! in one town! one of them sodomized a 5 year old.
so we are calling her tonight to tell her she is not allowed to go shopping there alone anymore...

no kidding. they should NOT be let out of jail, seriously!
but i also think it is unfair to lump people who are 19 and have sex with their 17 year old SO in the same category as someone who sodomized a child...
That is a scary number but how many of those are statutory rapists? How many of those are the result of a pissed off teenage girl/parents pressing charges against the JUST of age boyfriend? How many are they of some guy that just got caught peeing in the wrong place?
Not all of those listings are of "conventional" rapists and sex offenders.

put me in jail, i don't give a fvck. the other inmates would protect me, i feel certain.
Yeah, I think NY law also requires that schools alert parents in their community when sex offenders move in. I know we get flyers in our mailbox at shool (I"m a teacher) with a copy of what goes out to the public. It always sickens me when I see that they do terrible things to little kids.
very true. and i hate that it all gets lumped together. but most of them were traditional rapist and child molesters. when you pull up their names, it tells you what they were convicted of, their age at the time of the conviction, and the victims age.
one of them lived .9 miles from an elementary school! his conviction was like sodomy and rape of a 7 year old....!
they would too... in some jails S/O have their own side, cause inmates will beat them down.
And NY is NUTS, that man needs to stay locked up. That is sick.
