Adjustment period

Hi Ladies! I need encouragement. I just went back to work on Monday and my LO is going to my moms during the day. So far she has been crying the entire day and won't take a bottle :( she has been exclusively breastfed for 13 weeks, but she will take a bottle from me? Will this get easier for her? Ideas on getting her to take a bottle from my mom? How long will this last?

    Maybe try leaving your mom with a shirt that smells like you? She can lay it between her and your LO while she tries the bottle?

    Yes a shirt or a blanket that Smells like you will help. I've actually poured a little breastmk on one as well.

    My baby won't take the bottle from anyone (including me). We have been trying with the Born Free bottle right now, and she seems to take that the best. Wrapped in one of your shirts maybe might help? I'm not going back to work anytime soon, but definitely empathize with you! Good luck!!

    How about you have you mum give her a bottle with you sitting real close and talking to her a fee times?
    Im not back to work yet and im curious to know how long the adjustment period would be, please let us know when it happens for your lo, i hope it's really soon!

    @mars8k we actually tried that and my LO would gag every time she put the bottle in her mouth because she wants the breast :( The struggle is real! I'll keep you posted!

    Maybe have your mom try dipping the bottle nipple into some of your milk first, and then that might get her going.  Otherwise, she could take a little syringe (like what is used to give the Vitamin D) and squirt some milk into the side of her mouth while putting the nipple in there too (maybe while she's laying in the boppy or something since she only has so many hands :) ).
