Welp, that went left. Note to self, don't lie on threads, people read them and remember. Dun dun dunnnnnnn!
Personally, I wasn't trying to conceive purposefully. I was still trying to figure out my medical issues and what was going on with my body. As I started seeing an endocrinologist to figure out if I was ovulating regularly, what was up with my hormones and if I needed to see a fertility specialist... I found out I was pregnant. So I'd say maybe a month or 2 is what it took. Sorry if that was confusing...this was all new territory for me until I became pregnant.
Tried for 3 months directly after having my IUD taken out. We decided to take a "break" from TTC which lasted 4 months to make sure I had all of the birth control out of my system. Started trying again and conceived right away. Good luck!!
It took me & my DH 2& 1/2 years. We have 3 girls 18,15 & 10 (we lost our baby angel boy, born asleep 11 yrs ago). After my 10 yr old my DH had a vasectomy as my career was going well & we thought we'd finished our family. Then I hurt my back & had to learn to walk again as I'd been paralysed from the waist down. I was medically discharged from work & during this time wanted a baby.i spoke to my DH & we decided to have another. He had his vasectomy reversal n we were told it went very well. I'm sure this is what motivated me during my recovery. However every month it was the same...... negative. I'd given up thinking his reversal had failed then boom, there it was 2 & 1/2 years later a double line yikes. I was so shocked. Happy shocked though. Good luck & I hope you get your BFP soon xox
I was off birth control for a year and a half. We weren't trying, but we weren't very careful either. Every time my period came, I was really sad. I'm 35, so I know I'm not as fertile, but i finally got pregnant in May! I was so sure we had a problem, and I didn't know how my husband would respond to tests, so I really thank God every day!
2 years, 30 cycles(a few were short) 3 on clomid, 3 IUIs w/ injectables and an IVF. We got lucky on our first IVF and found out that it worked 1 week before we hit our 2year mark. Totally unexplained, but it happened! People really all run differently, my best friend is due at the same time as I am but got pregnant her 1st cycle trying! Good luck!
4 months. 2 failed IUIs, 1 failed AI. 2nd AI was a success. I was using fertility friend to chart my temps and clear blue digital ovulation monitor. I have never been on any sort of birth control in my life and am in my late 20s. Hang in there!
DH and I got pregnant our third month of trying. Bought an OPK this February after it didn't happen January 2015 and conceived 3/9/15. Thought it would take longer so I didn't find out I was pregnant until early April when I was diagnosed with pneumonia too. (Also, when I was much younger I conceived after being off Depo for only 4 days. Because the shot was renewed a few days later with a negative pregnancy test in my OB's office I didn't realize I was pregnant until 7 weeks later with undeniable symptoms and a trip back to the OP. That ended in a MC).
We were "not being cautious" for about nine months. We finally decided that it was enough playing around and I was ready to get pregnant. I tracked for the first month. Then I started talking to friends and realized that hey guess what most women aren't on this cookie cutter 28 day cycle. Even though my cycle was regular I was not ovulating on the right day. I bought a ridiculous amount of ovulation tests on amazon. I tested every day. We would have sex the day both lines were bold. But not the day after because I was an idiot. The next month we had sex three consecutive days after the bold lines.
Very long story short. It took us a total of three months after I really got serious.
I wish you all the best. It will happen. Don't give up!
We've been very fortunate. Second month trying with DC#1, 8 months with DC#2 and first try with DC#3. The first and third we right after coming off birth control, and I think that had a lot to do with it happening quickly.
After multiple friends telling me about how long it took for them to conceive, I took there advice and took OPKs to figure out my ovulation rather than other ways. Ended up pregnant my first cycle of birth control. I know that sounds lucky, but I swear it had to have been because of the OPKs. All apps predicted my ovulation way off!
We were family planning by not having sex/using the pull out method when I was fertile for two years, which worked fine until we kind of didn't pay attention to it. So I guess we conceived on the first try? The baby (14 weeks pregnant) is an unplanned but very welcome surprise. Best of luck! Also, I know in comparison to what a lot of people go through, we were very lucky to conceive this easily.

I had been tracking my periods through PeriodTracker for a few years and knew when I ovulated. Got pregnant on the first cycle we stopped using a condom. We are very excited that it wasn't a heartbreaking experience but that doesn't mean my next one won't take year to conceive. Most of our friends have been trying for 2 years, having treatments, etc with no luck so we decided we should start trying, assuming it would take a year. But we are very excited nonetheless. Just a lot sooner than planned, but they were still "planned"
About 10 minutes. OK, kidding. Took 2 months TTC #1. Took 2 years (plus fertility specialists, acupuncture and 3 losses) TTC #2. #3 here was a big ol' surprise. 3 babies, 3 totally different situations. My point - you never know.
It took us 1.7 years but ended in a miscarriage. I had another a few months later. Im now 16 weeks with a healthy baby boy so in total it took 2.7 years to conceive our first healthy surviving baby.

Just try not to stress overy it guys, because everyone knows that stressed overies lead to butt babies and getting pregnant right before you were about to adopt.

Really??? I'm spending $20,000 on IVF but all I have to do is relax?? Damn, I wish I had seen this sooner. Tell me, if I stop injections now and immediately relax, will I get pregnant? I might be able to get my money back.

SURE! I spent 4 years and 16,000$ getting pregnant and had one miscarriage before finally getting my take home baby but I guess all this that's what it was, those needles I was injecting myself with daily helped me RELAX!!!!

FYI, MissCassy is a big fat catfish of epic proportions. She's a previously banned user (one of the ones that were a legit banning) who keeps coming back and trying to pretend to be someone else to get on a BMB. One of my fellow BMB members sleuthed this out like an FBI agent on a mission. MissCassy was created using a stolen pic from FB of one of her IRL friends. How she hasn't been IP banned at this point is beyond me. She's sick and needs serious help.

We got pregnant our first month of 'not, not trying'. We expected it to take much longer and were very surprised, but are also very grateful for this pregnancy.

18 months for DD and 1 month post IUD removal for #2. I the last 2 months with DD I was taking a lot of OTC meds prescribed by a fertility doctor, Metformin and Clomid. So as soon as I knew we were going to be trying for #2, I started the OTC meds and Metformin and then took Clomid during my IUD withdrawal period and bam!
2 years, many IUIs, two cancelled IVFs, before a successful IVF using my wife's eggs. But I was 38 and DOR when I started.
And we didn't get to "try" the fun way because she didn't have any sperm (but she has some rocking ovaries, which really came through for us in the end).
(Sorry, just realized this is a zombie thread. This is an awfully quiet board.)
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs. 2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs. Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire. Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus! fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP! Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
