No period for 8 months

I had two mc's...one in oct 2014 and one in march 2015. I have also had a cervical polyp removal and a d & c for the second m/c. Since all of this happened I have not had a period since jan 2015. We tried progesterone, femara, ultrasounds, SIS, you name it. My lining is thin and and I am not ovulating. I have a 2yr old and want a sibling for him. I will be going in for another surgery to determine why I am amennorheic. I am 38 yrs old and I am afraid this is the downhill slide to permanent infertility. Does anyone have any good experience with something like this?

I am sorry. Not having a period for so long makes you crazy. Does your RE have any ideas on what is happening? I went years without a period because I had a lot of scar tissue built up from a D&C. It has taken several surgeries to remove it all, but I finally had a fullish flow last month and some spotting this month. It seems my body was ovulating this whole time, but the lining had no where to go.

Did they do an HSG to see if everything was flowing properly?

Are you working with an RE? I'm surprised that they didn't follow up sooner about no period after your D&C. My RE wanted AF within 6-8 weeks post D&C. I hope you can get some answers soon. GL!

They tried an SIS but couldnt get a good picture so I am going in for surgery to see what is going on. It's not an HSG but more like a D & C where they can physically see inside the cervix. Hopefully it will answer some questions.

I am working with an RE and they are keeping track of me. I think I just wanted to wait and see if my body would go back to normal naturally. We tried to induce a period with progesterone but no such luck.

Well, you have come to the right place! I am a pro at those as of now. Tomorrow morning I go in for my 4th. My hysteroscopies are always mixed with a D&C and some added fun things to remove my scar tissue. How far along were you when you had your m/c? Gah, I am so sorry. It sucks so much to not have a period because you can't even pretend to call it a natural cycle. Is a separate surgeon doing your hysto or is it your RE?

They have me going to an outside surgeon and he has shown me some very promising research on being able to conceive after hystos to remove any debris inside. I wish you luck and feel free to ping me if you have any questions.

Oh thank goodness there is someone out there! Both mc's were around 6-7 wks and we had some genetic testing done that determined the last miscarriage had a trisomy 14 defect. Not sure if it was just a bad egg or if I am a carrier of it. My RE is my surgeon and he is fantastic I have never had any bleeding or pain with any procedures and he is very positive about getting me pregnant again. It's frustrating since I have two coworkers and three relatives that just announced they were pregnant. It's also scary since I don't know the outcomes of all of this and it's hard to stay positive when i've had so many negative things happen to me in the past year. I hope all goes well for you as well will have to keep each other updated.
