Trying to Get Pregnant

New Fertility monitoring technology (YONO)

So, I work in the Tech world, and I happened to come across this article:

It is called YONO, and it is an ear piece that tracks your BBT, and other fertility signs - to help you better know when to get things going.

Anyone got the feels for it?

I am not sold on its functionality, even though it is new, and not fully tested..
how can an ear piece tell me my hormone signs?.. I understand temps, but other signs not so much.

Of course, I haven't seen any success rates/reviews for it.. but I assume that is because its so new...

Has anyone else read about it? or have any input on what you think about it?
I thought this would be a good discussion topic.

Re: New Fertility monitoring technology (YONO)

  • I don't like wearable tech

  • Loading the player...
  • It sounds kinda like the watch(I really know nothing about either.)

I don't find "collecting basal temperature very difficult and frustrating" so I guess it's not for me.

I think what turns me off is that it seems like just yet another thing to buy, taking advantage of the market of folks really wanting to get pregnant.

But I'm cynical. Maybe it is helpful.

I would actually have to agree with you @BornMama
I think it seems to be just another thing to buy - but doesn't really give much of an advantage in learning our body.

I like sticking with the BBT thermometer and checking signs myself...

I just thought it was an interesting topic.. wanted to get other peoples thoughts.

    thanks Ladies!

I'm not keen. I would have to explain to people why I am wearing something like that (it looks kinda like a hearing aid), and frankly I don't want the whole world knowing I am TTCing.

  • I did not look at the article posted. That said, I would probably buy something like that just because I like gadgets and information. I have the Misfit Spark activity tracker and if they can make something that's equally as ambiguous as that, where people can't look at it and be sure what it is. I'd probably wear it. I just really like data.

  • It looked to me like it was just worn during sleep. I think the main function of it is to pinpoint your actual BBT, getting rid of the room for error with manual temperature taking.

At that price point ($99) I would not buy it. It seems like a good concept, but I'm not sure the cost is worth the benefit (if there is any, since there seems to be no data on how reliable this is).

  • It would depend on how comfortable it really would be to sleep in and the accuracy.

Yes. I think you only wear it when you sleep....

I'm not keen on wearing ear plugs at night, and those are usually soft and squishy - so I don't know how comfy these would be...
I think its an interesting concept. but deff. not for a hundred bucks...
