Monday morning bitchfest

Re: Monday morning bitchfest

  • Sigh, today is my first day back to work after a glorious 10 day vacation and we are slammed! Phones ringing off the hook, line out the door, slammed.

Where is my manager? On the phone with his husband make dinner plans and shooting the shit with another employee. Ugh.

    10 more days please!

@JandJ62914 this is my MIL! She thinks (hoping) it's a boy and refers to it as her grandson constantly. I know if it is a boy, she'll be the first to say, "I was right, I knew it was a boy all along."

That sounds like me ex MIL my son is now 7 and she still annoys the crap out of me "i knew he was a boy and i was only one ounce of his birth weight nothing beats a grandmothers intuition" ugghh
This bothers me SO much! This weekend my mom said I was having a girl so matter of factly. I made the mistake of asking her why she though that and she said because I've been more emotional. Blah! I haven't really been that emotional she's just going through menopause and getting pissy at ridiculous stuff. I just point out the ridiculousness. I was going to have her at the US, but I don't want to ruin it if it is a girl with her saying, "See I told you! I was right!" Gag.
  • Definitely going to bitch about DH! He was trolling through his Facebook the other day when he came across a photo of an old coworker of his. His eyes go wide and he says "WOW she got huge!" (Which doesn't really help how scared I am that he won't like my body as the pregnancy progresses.) Anyway, the complete IDIOT proceeds to show me this picture and say, she used to be HALF the size you were three months ago!

And then HE got mad at ME because I was mad at him!!!

  • I think my Monday Bitchfest was yesterday lol in so over my MIL and I can't take her anymore. The more I get to know who she truly is the more it drives me crazy. I'm getting the book boundaries today. Yesterday I left to do a hair class/show and get out of the house, SO just asked what was wrong and I let it all out. He understood where I was coming from with boundaries and agreed to making some changes. I know he feels like he's in the middle (no one ever says shit to MIL they just ignore the hell out of her). The woman has no sense of boundaries or respect or privacy. I told DH either we make boundaries and let them know these things are bugging us or we just step back and make the change. Today I'm going to Olive Garden, book store, and some light shopping. I hope today is better and will be the peace I so badly needed!
  • My future SIL, who I gave my nanny job to, texted me today and was all "Can you take them tomorrow? I thought they went back to school today and I have Dr appts." I was like "Nope, take them with you. Have them bring books." Failure to communicate with YOUR boss does not constitute a problem for me. They are 10 and 13. They'll be fine.

I also told her to find out when their breaks and stuff are. I am not going to be bailing her out all of the time. If I still wanted to be nannying, I would have kept my job. I'm done. I knew she was going to be like this too. I just didn't think it would be on her FIRST DAY!!!!! Smh.
  • @RepeatPostPolice That is definitely the case with my niece. Her parents have never enforced a rule or nap or ever given a consequence. I don't want my dd hanging out with her ever, because she is so naughty! Her mom posts things on Facebook, like, "I let the dog out and came in to find (her daughter) on a ride on car on top of the table" So instead of disciplining her because what she's doing is dangerous, she snapped a pic for Facebook. Ugh... This wknd she told me she wants hang out a lot when she's on maternity leave. ...nope hang out with your own friends.
  • Nothing irritates me more than lazy parenting. Like when you see a parent ignoring their kid, like: Ignoring.... They're running around yelling. Ignoring.... They're climbing on the couch. Ignoring..... They're chucking toys off the couch. Ignoring.... One of the toys hits their little brother on accident. Suddenly "HEY! Why would you do that, you're in big trouble!!"

Basically until they do the "one thing" that is suddenly unacceptable and they scream at them or send them to time out for "bad behavior." Umm maybe if you watched them in the mean time and intervened or redirected calmly when they were mildly misbehaving then you wouldn't have to "yell at them all the time."

My FIL does this with my nephews and it drives me completely insane. I'm slightly terrified to let him watch my LO by himself.
  • So I just got back from my massage! My massage that didn't happen. The therapist wasn't there! I drove 30 minutes to an hour massage that never happened! Grrrrr. Now I still have a headache, and I'm cranky!!!

That sucks! They better be giving you a free one or something!

  • @nickicb7 omg I would have lost it. There are a select few things you cannot take away from a pregnant lady. Food, obviously, but a scheduled massage is also high on that list.
  • The shit heads kids that scream and play outside my bedroom window every night until gosh knows when, have started dicking around with my car. My neighbors already door sing my car at every possible chance and they won't give us their insurance info. I'm about to start screaming at these kids...hormones.
  • @emililyha I'm with you, I've always loved my boobs. They always had perk, nice and proportioned, etc. Now my areolas are huge and will probably look like salami by the time this is over! I know it sounds so shallow and I'm still very blessed to be growing this little girl but it feels good to vent it on here. I try to express my body concerns to DH and his response is "eh I'm more of an ass guy anyways". This is supposed to reassure me but it just makes me mad that he didn't even appropriately appreciate my boobs pre-preg! Add to that I've always had a pretty flat ass.

My chief complaint today: I had a meeting with a client set to talk about financial planning and personally inform her of the pregnancy. I went in the wrong order, and I spent a full hour getting parenting advice and got zero work done. Glad to have bonded more with her but come on man!
Oh and my Bump app signs me off mid response regularly.

Eta: ugh I feel so guilty for sounding so shallow but as an introvert/shy girl, I enjoy having a couple external qualities to be confident about
  • I'm so grateful that I'm not the only one experiencing "Nat Geo boobies". Hoping mine go back to normal like others have said!!!!!
  • My MIL and Grandma in law. Also my Grandma.
DH's grandma told me as we were leaving "now you take care of my great grandbaby. Got it!?". And no, she wasn't being nice. She had her stern voice and was pointing her boney finger at me. Like what the hell grandma?! What the hell do you think I've been doing the entire 17 weeks this babies been growing?!

My MIL is driving me up the wall. She only ever talks about missing her son. (We live outta state). So anytime she posts on FB about it, it's always "I miss my son." Or my favorite thing she does.. Any photo I post of DH, she will share my post. It's not like she shares the photos of myself or ultrasound photos. No. It's only the photos of DH.
It pisses me off so much, and is making me want to keep the baby from her. She hasn't asked me about the baby or anything. We find out the sex of the baby in two weeks and I'm not telling her until we reveal it to FB. If she doesn't want to be proactive in the pregnancy she can wait like everyone else.

My grandma kills me. Everytime I post about the baby she comments "she". Grandma is so convinced I'm having a girl, she's gone to the extent of calling the baby "my great grand daughter", in comments under ultrasound photos. We have no idea the sex yet, and she's killing me. DH calls the baby "He", and grandma calls the baby "She". I'm never gonna hear the end of it from whoever is right.

    Rant over..
  • How about this one. At my last appt my OB comes in and gushes to my mom and DH (without checking anything on me first) "Oh my goodness! Just look at her! She's glowing!! You must be carrying a boy! I know you're definitely having a boy!!"

...my OB said this. Who went to years of med school. Maybe check for the babies heart beat first before you go an make your sex guesses on me.
  • Woke up on my day off hoping to get out early and do some shopping before my lunch date.....instead I went to let the dog out and feed him breakfast....puke...everywhere.

Luckily hubs got up and helped me (by helped I mean he did most of the dirty work).

Then when we were done again.....another tidal wave of puke all over the kitchen floor....thank goodness my husband hadn't left for work yet and cleaned that up to... now the dog is feeling great & the biggest wildest pain the ass ever....

And I can NOT for the life of me find any sort of bathing suit for a vacation in 2 weeks. At least not one where my tatas aren't hanging out like crazy....I am not a large person but my boobs are huge and now even worse....and I can't find a decent tankini for anything......
  • I loathe my job, my boss is inept. I have had a headache for a month with no relief.

  • Set the time for my alarm clock to go off but never turned the actual effing alarm on. Woke up 30 minutes after I should have been sitting at my desk.

Awful feeling! Not the way to start the week. =(
  • OH and I have another!

A family friend has been telling me for the past month that I'm having a boy.  Not that she thinks it's a boy, but that IT IS a boy. It's to the point that when she texts me and brings up the baby, she refers to it as "he".  So this past weekend I got my nails done this blueish color and posted a pic on my Instagram.  She comments on the picture, "Baby boy blue...just saying."  And I responded, "We'll see" and she wrote another comment, "IT'S A BOY!!!!!"  All caps, just like that.

It's really annoying me now!  I would feel differently if she was saying "I think it's a boy" or "I have a feeling it's a boy", but I don't like that she's insisting that IT IS a boy and calling my baby "he" and stuff.  Maybe I'm being silly, but I'm starting to feel very territorial because this is my experience and my baby (and DH of course), but I really don't like that she's acting like she KNOWS something about our baby that we don't.

End rant. It feels good to get that off my chest!
    :D
Oh no! I totally did this with my sister. In my defense, I had a dream a few weeks before they found out that I was at the mall with her son and brand new baby girl and I have never had a dream so real so I felt like I really did know. I told them they were going to be pregnant soon and they were like, "no way! We are waiting longer!" And they are expecting a baby girl in September! but - I hope I wasn't annoying them by calling her a girl before they found out!

I know I'm growing a baby and that means lots of changes to my body and I'm okay with it. But yesterday I got a good look at my new boobs and broke down crying. I've always been well endowed but I had no idea what was going to happen to my nipples. Sorry if this is TMI but it's my rant for the day as I LOVED my boobs. Now they're so different. It bums me out.

Please don't take this as I hate my prego body- I don't. I'm grateful for the amazing miracle I've got going in here. Just mourning the loss of my pretty pre-prego boobies.

Your nipples eventually go back to normal, promise! I cried about it during my first pregnancy too.
Ugh! I feel like I have to wear two bras just to keep the turkey timers from popping out. I swear my nipples are 10000x bigger than pre-pregnancy. But yeah, after I finished BFing with DD they went back to normal.... But since I plan to bf LO until at least 1yr I'm stuck with the cannons for a while.
I'm definitely not looking forward to the national geographical nipples again. When I was BFing DD and pumping, they got pretty long. Luckily they bounced back after I weaned.
My husband pointed at one 'turkey timer nipple' (the other one must not have been cold haha) and said "that's gonna be your money maker! It's a bigger boob and it's nipple is ready!" I could have killed him.

I would usually think the same thing but I start vacation Friday so it was just a lame way to start Monday. I hope to head in early tomorrow.
  • I work for a healthcare it company. I travel to hospitals to implement our solutions. biggest perk: i get to wear scrubs all week.

    Where i get annoyed...

I work with the Labor and delivery department and this time im night shift. during my shift change with my coworker, she points out that she is noticing a baby bump through my scrubs infornt of my night nurses. THANK YOU.. now i will be self conscious if that means i should have gotten a new top before the trip and now thats all the nurses want to talk about since that IS their department and thats the only thing they know about me.

Talking babys with maternity nurses can be scary if you have one who wants to watch you squirm when she talks about all the crazy delivery stories that happened at the hospital. Thank you co worker....

Have you tried a chiropractor and/or massage? It sounds like work is probably making you tense. I've had a migraine/tension type headache since Wed. Went to the chiropractor today and it's finally gone. I wanted to do a cartwheel when I left because I was so happy not to be in agony.

    Hope you find some relief!

  • I'm just doing a test to see if this updates to the first page. The thread started asking about rules for warnings isn't going to the first page for me when it's updated. Can the admins keep it from going to first page even if it wasn't closed??? Do they have that power?? Or is my app just that crappy?
  • My mother is the same way. No filter.
  • @UptownPearl you are absolutely correct! It will not bump back up to the top! Bump conspiracy to not give us the truth!
  • It is a conspiracy!! They have too much power. They don't have a legitimate reason to close the discussion since it was just a question asked very respectfully, but they don't want to have to answer the question either. So they won't let it update and just hope no one sees it anymore and it just goes away. We just want a logical explanation! Is that too much to ask?
  • Be careful any criticism of the bump gets you a warning...
  • @Snoopylovesbelle did you receive an explanation for your warning? Did they say you broke a TOU?
  • I know it's not Monday but I need to bitch... Idk if anyone remembers how my asshat dog chewed the wall... Well then my husband was home alone with the dogs and they did it again making the hole bigger, and somehow he didn't notice that they did it while he was one room away. Then, this morning I wake up to dogs who are not in the kennel, and I just instantly knew.... They chewed up the mother effing wall AGAIN!!! My husband "forgot" to put them in the kennel when he left for work... Wtf??? 1.5 years of having dogs and this is the time he forgot to put them in the kennel? I've never been so mad in my whole life. He's lucky he's not home right now.
