I work for a microbiology diagnostic company that focuses on pathogen detection in the food industry/food safety testing labs and just be careful what you think is safe. I stay away from produce sourced from Mexico and always steam your foods. And always always always cook food to the proper temperature. I'm also wary of prepared salads or anything that isn't cooked before you consume it. But, as others have said you are the best judge of what you feel comfortable eating
Right. But recent outbreaks in cantaloupe and spinach does not mean your odds are greater to contract listeria from fruits and vegetables than deli meats. That is my point. It is an incorrect stat thrown around.
There was also a huge listeria outbreak from ice-cream recently. So, my new thought process is that I will always advise being cautious, but there is only so much we can do.
The outbreak could happen anywhere, but it has been MOST RECENTLY in produce - You can't really WASH cantaloupe. If your card is up. It's up. I'm not living in fear or limiting myself to eating cardboard.
@happyandhopeful3 there's risk in eating lunch meat but if you take proper precautions it's minimized. There's risk in unwashed produce so you should take proper precautions. All these ladies listened to their doctors and made a decision. Let everyone enjoy their lunch.
I'm going to have a turkey sandwich with spinach and cantaloupe
AAAAAAaaaanyways.... What I had for lunch today was a grilled cheese, fries, and some mandarin oranges. Hubs is making homemade buffalo chicken pizza for dinner. I'm drooling already.
I had nuggets from Chick-fil-a. Lunch is always the hardest meal for me.. Nothing ever sounds good & I haven't had any lunch meant my whole pregnancy I'm too scared lol
I went to souplantation for the first time for lunch today. And looking at all the salad and soup and super healthy stuff and I go straight for the little pizzas squares. Overall I had a mini salad, chicken soup, way too many pizza squares, and some blueberry muffins
I want to go to souplantion! Why have I never heard of this place?!?! I had tomato soup and grilled cheese. One of my favorite comfort foods. Then I had ritz with this awesome raspberry jalapeño jam from the farmers market and sharp cheddar. I love cheese

We have Sweet Tomatoes out here and I craved their chicken noodle soup during first Tri! But I always try to fill up on their salads, so I can indulge in the ice cream
Re: What's for lunch today?
So I'll probably have a lunch meat sandwich for lunch.
