Remington? Theodore?

DH loves 2 names that I am not ecstatic about... Theodore & Remington.

I love that they are strong names and not overly popular just not in love with them...

Middle name is Pence (family) and last name is W******e (2 syllables).

Thoughts?

I like Theodore. You could do NN Teddy or Theo. Remington sounds like an appliance or something.

Theodore seconded! I love the name, but DH vetoed. Remington makes me think of the shaver brand or the rifle company.

Remington is the name of my neighborhood. It's too surnamey for me. And I second the stripper vibe. It sounds like a stage name or something.

If he likes Remington due to the gun reference, consider Barrett. I know a family with a son named that and a daughter named Kimber. I personally dislike Remington and Barrett but the latter may be something you could agree on.

Remington makes me think of guns and a dog we had as a kid. And of course, Remington Steele. All of which make it a big no for me. Theodore is good, love Theo, like Ted, not a huge fan of Teddy.

Also consider Leopold (a brand of scope) or Henry (Henry Repeating Arms Co.).

Theodore over Remington.
I nannied a little girl named Remington (went by Remi). The girl was cute but the name never grew on me.

I don't know anything about guns, so didn't make that association at all.

I prefer Theodore, but I can see where you're coming from with Remington. I secretly love the nn Remi.

Theodore is by far the winner here. Second only to some other name that you actually love.

Remington also sounds gunny to me. Why not just go with Gunner/Gunnar?

I'd steer clear of Remington, because a lot of peoples minds (mine included) will likely go to either the gun company, dogs or hookers.
On the other hand, Theodore is a lovely name.
