Re: ***3rd Trimester Check-in*** 07/27

  • Hello Ladies! Sorry so late today I totally forgot to post this morning. Hope everyone is doing well!

@fjamil1 Any news yet on your little one? Thinking of you!!

@J&;D2007 how did your appointment go today?

@carrieharry79 How are you feeling this week?

    @MiromiM & @LittleRocket Welcome!!

    AFM:
    1) How far along? 35w4D Holy crap

    2) Any appointments this week? Thursday I go for my sonogram and to see my Doctor. He said that we would talk about induction dates then. Thank you baby j. I am so ready.

    3) How are you feeling? Worn out. I have no freaking energy. I feel like I have all this stuff to do but I know really everything is pretty much done. I think its just my OCD flaring up. OH and my wrists and hands hurt. I guess I have the pregos carpel tunnel. Joy.

QOTW: I made stuffed vegetarian cabbage tonight for the first time. It was good. I froze two containers of that. I plan on making Chili tomorrow and freezing that too. I would give a recipe but really I just throw stuff in the pot. It normally turns out.

  • Hi! I'm 36 weeks now. Thanks for remembering my appt today @Justone13 ! Thankfully this was my last scan and it went very well. Placenta is now 'far away' from the cervix per the tech. Baby measuring about 6 lbs and looking good. I meet with my OB on Thursday to review everything again. We have birthing classes tomorrow too! Not sure if they will be a waste of time or not. QOTW: I really thought about freezing meals but decided that not much was going to fit into the freezer. I bought a few bags of frozen fajita meat and a few bags of veggies for stir fry or fajutas, but other than that, not much. I love the idea though!
Me: 37, DH: 38: ttc 7 years, dx: unknown
    10/11: after 2 years, saw a RE, FSH 5.4

  • I am 35 weeks and 5 days today. I had an appointment yesterday. I had to have the group b strep test, so they went ahead and checked my cervix during that exam. I am 1.5 centimeters dilated 80% effaced and her head is low resting on my cervix. Kind of crazy to me considering that with my son I wasn't even 1 centimeter until the day I went into labor with him. I am still feeling pretty good considering, but I had awful hip/  back pain this weekend. I think I just did too much and I literally couldn't walk.

QOTW: I want to make freezer dinners, but I have no clue what to make. A lot of what we normally eat will not freeze well. I might do a pan or two of ravioli to make baked ravioli. I also thought about muffins for quick breakfasts and some lactation cookies. I know I probably wont be baking for awhile.

  • @TLooney17 I pinned a bunch of recipes on Pinterest for lactation cookies and muffins. I was wondering if I could make up the dough for the cookies and freeze it. Is that what you are doing or just going to freeze the cookies and muffins after they are made?

  • 1) How far along? 39 weeks today!! I can't believe it. Come out baby..... you want out, I want you out, everyone wants you out.
    2) Any appointments this week? Thursday... last week I wasn't effaced or dilated, so hopefully there will be progress on Thursday.
    3) How are you feeling? I'm feeling okay.. I've been lucky to avoid back pain, which I've heard can get pretty bad. Still struggling to walk with the plantar fasciitis and my hands are getting stiffer (more broken capillaries too). I can't even feel sulky though because I'm so close. I'm just thrilled to be this close.

So random share, my sister got me a "birthing robe" for my birthday. It's long, silk, and was shipped from Mumbai. It has a slit in the back for an epidural. It was thoughtful, but I feel like it's really impractical. Wouldn't something like that just get destroyed?! It seems like a gift from someone without kids, which she is. I just feel bad because I am unlikely to use it and she will see that in photos. Maybe I just wear it and ruin it? My dad and stepmom also gave us a week of Blue Apron. I'm like "the last thing we need are kits for gourmet meals from scratch." I love my family but the gifts are like sooooo close to being good, but not. ;) How about a gift card for delivery instead?

QOTW: I intended to do this, but then I didn't. I think we will just do easy meals or takeout. Lots of Whole Foods prepared meals.

  • 1) 29 weeks and 2 days
    2) not this week, but I'm trying to make myself make appointments for my other docs (eye, dentist, skin, etc)
    3) pretty good! Mostly just tired, and my feet are huge and hurt, and my tail bone is enflamed still. Trying to soak up the time when being pregnant is still exciting. Getting to see the baby clearly move from the outside is totally entertaining to us. Yesterday I felt the baby respond to my touch for the first time, which was amazing. I'm also feeling worried about how big I am and how much weight I've put on. It will just be a lot of work after. I was already near the top of my weight (I think due to the stress of ivf and going off my anti depressants.) Now I've already put on 52 pounds and I've got 11 more weeks? Jeeeeeeze.
QOTW: I've actually been trying to clear out our freezer. It's pretty small and I want room to freeze breast milk.

Babies are here. Sorry for being MIA. I had induction scheduled for Friday July 24 at 7 am. The doctor broke my water at 7:20 and started pitocin at around 8 to get the contractions moving. I was able to move around and spend some time on the ball. Baby A kept on moving off the monitor so the nurse had me move to the bed at around 11. The contractions were coming about 3 minutes apart and a minute long. Since I was having VBAC with twins the doctor required epideral. I got the epi at 12 and slept for few hours. Finally, I was feeling pressure at 6 and the doctor checked and I was a 10 and ready to go. I was moved to the OR and pushed baby A after 12 pushes at 7:13 pm. The doctor broke baby B bags and she turned her head down, but her heart rate went down to 33 and stopped, so I had an emergency c-section. She was born at 7:23. 10 minutes after her brother. Weighing 5lb 13 oz and 5lb 14 oz.

During the c-section the doctor sniped the bladder so they have to stitch that and I had 2nd degree tear down below. After the delivery, my temperature dropped down to 92 and took 6 hours to get up to 97 by which time I was sweating like crazy. Through out the night the nurses kept on checking my temperature and it was again low but I was sweating really badly. After a long night the temperature did stabilize. I was dosing in and out through all of this. I was expected to be discharged on Monday but my hemoglobin dropped downed to 7.5 and was put on iron supplements. The doctor kept me over night for observations and did a repeat blood work and the hemoglobin dropped to 6.5. I had to get 2 units of blood transfusions. I was finally discharged yesterday after 5 days of stay. I also had to have Catherer placed for 7 days which comes out tomorrow.

The babies are just perfect and had no issues at all. No NICU time at all. I got to hold them 14 hours after birth. Thank you for reading my birth story.

@fjamil1 Wow. Happy to hear everything worked out. I'm getting close to being induced with my twins. Trying to keep a positive outlook.
  • 1) 35w4d twins. Induction set for 8/18 if they don't come before.
    2) I've been on 2-3 appts per week for 4 weeks. Up next: Monday - doc, NST, and ultrasound
    3) I'm definitely ready to be done. Physically my body is done.

Food - i want to get meals ready but between headaches, swelling, pelvis pain, and nausea I can't tolerate standing in the kitchen.
