Baby Will born 8/18. He's perfect.
I am 35 weeks and 5 days today. I had an appointment yesterday. I had to have the group b strep test, so they went ahead and checked my cervix during that exam. I am 1.5 centimeters dilated 80% effaced and her head is low resting on my cervix. Kind of crazy to me considering that with my son I wasn't even 1 centimeter until the day I went into labor with him. I am still feeling pretty good considering, but I had awful hip/ back pain this weekend. I think I just did too much and I literally couldn't walk.
QOTW: I want to make freezer dinners, but I have no clue what to make. A lot of what we normally eat will not freeze well. I might do a pan or two of ravioli to make baked ravioli. I also thought about muffins for quick breakfasts and some lactation cookies. I know I probably wont be baking for awhile.

2) Any appointments this week? Thursday... last week I wasn't effaced or dilated, so hopefully there will be progress on Thursday.
3) How are you feeling? I'm feeling okay.. I've been lucky to avoid back pain, which I've heard can get pretty bad. Still struggling to walk with the plantar fasciitis and my hands are getting stiffer (more broken capillaries too). I can't even feel sulky though because I'm so close. I'm just thrilled to be this close.
2) not this week, but I'm trying to make myself make appointments for my other docs (eye, dentist, skin, etc)
3) pretty good! Mostly just tired, and my feet are huge and hurt, and my tail bone is enflamed still. Trying to soak up the time when being pregnant is still exciting. Getting to see the baby clearly move from the outside is totally entertaining to us. Yesterday I felt the baby respond to my touch for the first time, which was amazing. I'm also feeling worried about how big I am and how much weight I've put on. It will just be a lot of work after. I was already near the top of my weight (I think due to the stress of ivf and going off my anti depressants.) Now I've already put on 52 pounds and I've got 11 more weeks? Jeeeeeeze.
QOTW: I've actually been trying to clear out our freezer. It's pretty small and I want room to freeze breast milk.

During the c-section the doctor sniped the bladder so they have to stitch that and I had 2nd degree tear down below. After the delivery, my temperature dropped down to 92 and took 6 hours to get up to 97 by which time I was sweating like crazy. Through out the night the nurses kept on checking my temperature and it was again low but I was sweating really badly. After a long night the temperature did stabilize. I was dosing in and out through all of this. I was expected to be discharged on Monday but my hemoglobin dropped downed to 7.5 and was put on iron supplements. The doctor kept me over night for observations and did a repeat blood work and the hemoglobin dropped to 6.5. I had to get 2 units of blood transfusions. I was finally discharged yesterday after 5 days of stay. I also had to have Catherer placed for 7 days which comes out tomorrow.
The babies are just perfect and had no issues at all. No NICU time at all. I got to hold them 14 hours after birth. Thank you for reading my birth story.
