I'm not sure if this has been a topic yet, but my breastfed lo has recently began refusing a bottle. We first introduced a bottle at 4 weeks and she took it just fine and I was able to leave and have the hubby give her a bottle. Now at 9 weeks, she's refusing all types of bottles. She will gnaw and it and play with the nipple with her tongue and then get mad and start screaming. I thought maybe she would get hungry enough and eventually take it but that doesn't seem to work. I am going back to work in 2 weeks and she will be at daycare for 10+hours at a time. Does anybody have experience with this or any tips?
Re: refusing bottle
I waited until she was pretty hungry and took it away every time she started playing with it. We used the bottle all day yesterday.
She also refuses it if it's not very warm. She likes it a little warmer than body temp.
Good luck!
What I have found is that when I am there she will only take a bottle from me but takes it no problem. If I am not there she refuses until she is really hungry sometimes going five hrs between eating. She prefers milk that has only been heated once whether it was frozen or refrigerated.
Hopefully something will work!
