  I'm using babylist so that I can register by item and not limit my family/friends to any specific store. Plus, it lists the different stores that carry the items and the price at each store.

  I started mine on Amazon pretty early, but I still have it set to private.  I'm waiting to start our registry at Target until after the A/S in 2 weeks.  If you're having a shower, you'll want to have your registry done before the invites go out.  But otherwise I don't think there's a right or wrong time to start it.

  I am doing amazon and babies r us.  I have heard negative things about Target's return policy.

  
  

  I would only do amazon, but I know some people would like to go in a store.  So i chose babies r us because they are in more places, and also give the 10% cash back.
