It was a Tuesday. DH was out of town for work until that Friday. We weren't actively trying, and I wasn't even keeping track of my cycle really. I had a feeling, so I took a lone pregnancy test that I had under the bathroom sink. BFP!
What kind of pregnancy test did you take?
FRER
How many pregnancy tests did you take?
I was so surprised by the BFP, I promptly went to Rite Aid and got 8 more tests, all different kinds. They were all BFPs!
What were your first symptoms?
After a 20 lb weight loss this year, I was swimming in my C cup bras. One morning, I woke up to busting out instaboob, and I knew something was up.
Who did you tell first?
Because DH was out of town, I had to wait and tell him for 5 whole days! I ended up blurting it out to my younger brother over lunch because I just couldn't keep it to myself.
Who was with you when you found out?
My dogs.
What is your favorite restaurant since you have been pregnant?
HOOTERS. Yep, I love those fried pickles and buffalo shrimps!
What is your favorite at-home meal?
Taco salads.
Do you have any pets?
Two dogs. A pitbull named Beverly and a black lab named Kevin.
What is your favorite spare time activity?
Reading, cooking, perusing the "food and drink" category button on Pinterest, and TB.
Favorite TV show?
It was Breaking Bad, now it's Better Call Saul. We also love Scandal.
Favorite movie of all time?
Probably Clueless or The Lego Movie
Favorite book?
Fiction: The Harry Potter series!

What was your favorite subject in high school or college?
I was a chemistry major in college. My favorite class was Inorganic Chemistry, in my last semester.
What is your favorite thing about your SO?
I have too many of these! He is sexy, smart, funny, sweet, always wants to take care of me, and is truly my best friend.
What is your least favorite thing about your SO?
He works very hard (good), but has difficulty relaxing at times. Poor guy.
What is your favorite thing about yourself?
I have worked in retail (customer service, then pharmacy) for the past 16 years. Because of this, I have a very thick skin and don't get rattled at all by nasty or rude people. It doesn't phase me!
What is your least favorite thing about yourself?
I am kind of a perfectionist and am really pretty hard on myself about some things.
What do you like most about your job?
I work in a pharmacy. I really like helping people and making them feel comfortable when they are worried about embarrassing or scary issues. I also like when customers come in and they are really mad or angry about something, and I can turn it around for them and they leave smiling!
What do you like least about your job?
The days when I don't get to pee or eat for my whole shift.
For FTMs: What are you most scared of when it comes to being a new mom?
I'm really nervous about breastfeeding. I'm scared I won't be good at it. Also, labor scares me a little.

Meeting the person that is 1/2 me and 1/2 DH! How cool!
Most annoying comment you’ve received, so far, relating to your pregnancy?
Someone asked to touch my belly yesterday. You can't feel anything from the outside right now, so, it's pretty much like touching my arm at his point. So, NOPE.

Favorite movie of all time? That's a hard one but my go to is Breakfast at Tiffany's.

What is your favorite thing about your SO? He isn't easily ruffled or stressed and he feels lucky to be with me. (Of course, I am lucky to be with him.)
What is your least favorite thing about your SO? Sometimes I wish he was a little more into pop culture and could connect with other guys more easily.
What is your favorite thing about yourself? I'm extremely compassionate and loyal ( and self-aware).
What is your least favorite thing about yourself? My highly sensitive nature leads to me being overwhelmed easily which can incapacitate me.
What do you like most about your job? I was a nanny for two super easy kids.
What do you like least about your job? I wasn't crazy about the days when the parents worked from home. I'm an introvert and don't like having to feel "on".

For FTMs: What are you most excited about being a new mom? Bonding with a new life that I created and falling in love with her.

Most annoying comment you’ve received, so far, relating to your pregnancy? When I posted on FB about needing to stay away from the comment section of articles because stress wasn't good for the baby, somebody came on and was all " Neither are your cats but I don't see you getting rid of them". Uh, there is nothing wrong with my cats and needing my husband to change the litter for a few months is nowhere near idiots on the internet raising my blood pressure.

How did you find out you were pregnant?
My boobs were hurting pretty bad, I thought it was my period coming because it was supposed to start that day, but I had this feeling and I told DH we needed to go buy some tests. Totally wasn't expecting to see two pink lines!

Sore boobs. That was it!

My husband, then I called my best friend, then called husbands mom and brother, then next week went to see my parents and sister and told them.

DH was swiffering the kitchen and I ran out of the bathroom with my pants still unbuttoned to show him the test lol

I've wanted Taco Bell a lot.....

I just really like all foods more lol

What were your first symptoms?I was super exhausted, and then thought huh, maybe I was supposed to get my period. BFP confirmed why I was exhausted
Who did you tell first? My best friend. I wasn't going to see hubby for two days and I couldn't keep it to myself.
Who was with you when you found out? I was alone (well I guess DS was home)
What is your favorite restaurant since you have been pregnant? I have been a total fast food junkie this pregnancy.
What is your favorite at-home meal? Probably grilled cheese
Do you have any pets? We have a 7 year old boxer
What was your favorite subject in high school or college? math, I am now a high school math teacher so I think that worked out for me lol

For veteran moms: What is the best advice you could give to
new moms? Set expectations for your family and friends. If you want no one at the hospital until after the baby arrives, tell them. What you will need help with when you get home is meals, laundry, cleaning. Tell them that you want that help, not "help with the baby" which just translates to them being in your space cuddling with your newborn which is what you will want to do.

your pregnancy? "You know how that happens right?" - this is my second kid, not my twelfth!! And yes my son is young still but he will be almost two when the baby arrives . Jump off and mind your own!

2. One the day before my cycle was supposed to start because we were leaving on vacation. It was negative. And one the second day of our vacation because cycle still hadn't started. It was positive.
What were your first symptoms?
Fatigue.
Who did you tell first?
Husband. Then my mom a few weeks later.
Who was with you when you found out?
I was purposely alone. We were on vacation with some friends and I didn't want them to know that early. I had to be sneaky about my *drinking* the last few days.
What is your favorite restaurant since you have been pregnant?
I haven't gotten out much. But anything Mexican.
What is your favorite at-home meal?
Its been really really hot here. Fruit. Snacks.

Spare time? Playing trains/cars/chase/park/mess making with my toddler.

How many pregnancy tests did you take? HA. At least 8. I Couldn't believe it was for real.
What were your first symptoms? I was completely exhausted and had cramps before my BFP...at the time I thought it was PMS.
Who did you tell first? My husband and then my sister.
Who was with you when you found out? I was alone in the bathroom because it was first thing in the morning. I ran upstairs to where DH was sleeping and woke his butt up!
What is your favorite restaurant since you have been pregnant? Panera
What is your favorite at-home meal? My dad's spaghetti and meatballs.

What do you like least about your job? The first six weeks or so of school when we're still getting used to the routines and procedures and it can be a little chaotic. The beginning of kindergarten is tough because it's many kid's first formal school experience!

Most annoying comment you’ve received, so far, relating to your pregnancy? "How much weight have you gained so far?"- My MIL (in front of a big group of people, you may recall my rant from back then!)
2. I bought a combo pack that came with a plus sign version and digital. I took the plus sign and got a faint positive, so the next morning I used the digital to confirm since I had it anyway.
What were your first symptoms?
Maybe bigger boobs? At 2 weeks at a wedding my mom said she knew because my boobs looked bigger, but I didn't notice change until recently...
Who did you tell first?
DH...we then told our parents after our 8 week ultrasound.
Who was with you when you found out?
It was 5am because I woke up to pee and wanted to use first pee. I woke up DH who hardly registered it and went back to sleep, haha.

McDs, hahaha. NOT normal pre-preg.

Not currently. My 16 year old cat died last summer and DH basically told me baby or cat but not both at the same time soooo

His smile...and now his laugh...he has a...distinct laugh, that I found annoying at first but it's grown on me and now I love that I can pick him out of a crowd and can hear him enjoying something several rooms away.

His inability to choose a restaurant for dinner

My intelligence, honestly. It doesn't come across much online because it's a casual outlet, but I'm frankly pretty durn smart and that's always meant more to me than anything else.

They're so tiny at first!!! I'm confident I can be a good mother to a toddler and older, but newborns still terrify me!

None! I've been lucky (so far) and have only received positive comments...and the few times I've been asked if I'm okay, I was on the verge of passing out and must have looked it, it was not condescending but helpful.

"Just wait, your butts going to get SOOOO BIG"

I lost count, I'd guess 10-12. I took a Clear Blue digi and got a fast pregnant result so I know it was true, but had this issue with needing to make sure it was still positive, and PG tests became morning routine until first doctor's appointment. Not logical, but worked for me lol.
What were your first symptoms?
Boobs. Ouch. Boobs.
Who did you tell first?
After my husband we told one of my best friends, who we were about to fly out to see about an hour after my BFP.
Who was with you when you found out?
I was alone in the bathroom, but I ran down the hallway to tell my husband who knew I was testing and was waiting anxiously.
What is your favorite restaurant since you have been pregnant?
Chick-fil-a. Shameful, lol.
What is your favorite at-home meal?
Flour tortillas with pepperoni and mozzarella in them. I call them pizza wraps.
Do you have any pets?
I have a betta fish, but that is all we will ever have! (both by allergies and choice)
What is your favorite spare time activity?
I love to yard sale and thrift store shop. The thrill of the treasure hunt.
Favorite TV show?
Of all time, probably Scrubs.

That's a hard one, not sure.

The Bible is my #1!

High school was calculus or just math in general, college was computer programming

He is the most genuine person I have ever met and goes to great lengths to make sure the people who are important to him know they are loved.
What is your least favorite thing about your SO?
He waits until we turn onto a main road to put his seatbelt on. Grinds my gears!

My determination.

My pregnancy chin.
What do you like most about your job?
The flexibility of being able to take off for appointments and such, and not having to stress over little things, one of the benefits of working for a small business (it's a 3 people operation)
What do you like least about your job?
My boss' character, and the actual work that I do is starting to get very boring. I was ready to move on and actively hunting before we found out about baby, but now it's best that I stay until January (see above for reasons).
For FTMs: What are you most scared of when it comes to being a new mom?
I have emetophobia, so I am most scared of the first time my child has a stomach bug. I am not scared of much of anything in the infant stage.
For FTMs: What are you most excited about being a new mom?
Just having this little person that my husband and I created depend on us so much, and to see his personality and how he takes after both of us.
Most annoying comment you’ve received, so far, relating to your pregnancy?
"It's about time you upgrade to maternity clothes, don't you think?" coming from annoying new coworker, when I was about 10 weeks and had full hands so my shirt that was riding up was not fixed immediately.

He's loving, loyal, family orientated and makes me feel safe. What is your least favorite thing about your SO? Hunting being his hobby only because I miss out on so much time with him
What is your favorite thing about yourself? I'm polite, have manners and I am kind. Also, I have common sense which seems to be rare at times.

1. How many pregnancy tests did you take?
Two. Because I just couldn't believe the first one. Turns out that it wasn't lying
2. What were your first symptoms? I knew I was pregnant before symptoms occurred. (4 days after conception) Sore breasts were definitely first though.

5. What is your favorite restaurant since you have been pregnant? Five Guys or Chipotle -- I had meat adversions, which is highly annoying, but those two always sounded good!
6. What is your favorite at-home meal? Cereal. I love cooking but not as much as I love my couch apparently.

I began at 8dpo and had a faint positive so I took one every other day until 12 dpo when I got a stronger bfp. I then waited until I missed my period by a week before I took two more with SO. I was convinced I was going to see bfn that time and of course, bfp!!

I had that metallic taste in my mouth and was very weepy. My temp was high and I thought I may be getting a fever. The rest of my symptoms were typical of PMS.
