Nothing Happening Here...

So I'm a first time mom and due date is in 3 days and nothing is happening yet! No contractions, mild (very mild) back pain here and there (which I believe is more of a gas pain), no water breaking .....notta. Anyone else due next week and having absolutely no signs of labor??

I know due dates are estimates but I know exact date of conception so I believe my dd is spot on. Just getting discouraged because I was hoping to feel anything by now....I want to know what a real contraction is like. And then I fear I'll be one of those women that's goes into labor and has their baby like an hour or two later because she had no signs :-SS

Cpmpletly normal for a FTM, hell even for a STM. I was 10 days late with my first. I didn't have any symptoms until one day when I woke up with spotting/discharge that led to contractions and active labor.

Now I'm due tomorrow and again have no symptoms besides what I've been feeling on and off for the past several weeks. Nausea, diarrhea, cramping etc. I don't read into any of it. Just trying to patiently wait for contractions and/or water breaking.

I know it's frustrating and feels like your body isn't doing anything but it is and baby will be here on its own time.

Odds are labor will be long for you - I don't say that to be mean and make you feel like, "oh great," but more so you aren't stressing you are going to be pushing a baby out on the side of the highway. You hear about those stories on the news because they are "newsworthy" (if you want to go that far) since they hardly ever happen. Odds are far better that your labor will start slow and progress slowly and you will have more than enough time to tie up any loose ends, take a shower if you need, pack anything else you need, and drive to the hospital. I get it though, I had those fears before too but once labor started, there was no mistaken what was going on. If you watch that "I didn't know I was pregnant" show they still have labor signs, they just don't recognize what these extreme pains are because in their heads contractions wouldn't be an option. I don't think anyone is lucky enough to pop a baby out without signs of labor - and if so, then score, because for me the pushing the baby out wasn't the bad part, it was the contractions leading up to that point that sucked. I know it isn't easy to enjoy being pregnant at this point, but know it will happen VERY soon and then life will be VERY different. Try to enjoy these last few moments/days of your old life before you begin your new one.

I feel you on going late. My first was 9 days late. My second was 4 days late and both were inductions. Who knows how long my first would have cooked???? I am still 2 wks from my EDD with #3 and there are no signs she will come even a day early. Hang in there!

Im due Wednesday and have had nothing at all. I actually know exactly what night I conceived as well so we have been thinking my due date is pretty darn accurate. Anyways, no loss of mucus plug, no bloody show, no diarhhea. NADA! I just keep reminding myself it could happen all at once. For now me and DH have been watching movies and cuddling every night together until she gets here.

Thank you @Miz_Liz. I have a LOT of time compared to most August mommas on here since I'm due at the end of the month (8/28) and a FTM so my nerves and excitement is threw the roof! But you definitely just put it in perspective by saying enjoy the last days/weeks left of my old life, bc it will never be the same, even if it's for an amazing reason. Lol maybe I can stop obsessing over my boy coming and finally just relax and enjoy this time before everything is different like you said. Watch once I finally do relax a have my nerves calm is when he'll surprise us and come. Lol ironic. Anyways just wanted to say thank you and I'm sure my boyfriend will thank you as well for calming my overly anxious ass down. Lol hope everything is well with you and ur LO.

I'm due next Thursday and for some reason never thought I would make it that far. Well I had my first check yesterday and I'm only at a 1. I don't know why I expected more for my third baby or why I even pay attention to that number since I could go anytime. But for the first time I'm realizing that I could reach my due date and go well beyond it. It's like I got hit upside the head with a DUH stick. And yeah, it sucks. But in the grand scheme of things I know she will be here very soon. I know this. It just does get discouraging. I feel you.

Doesn't mean a thing. STM , baby due Monday and I've got nothing. It was the same with my first. Nothing until she came at 40w1d. Labor was average length and smooth. These things tend to work in their own time and each experience is different. Hang in there! We're almost to the finish line!

I'm a FTM too and I'm due on Wed. I've felt nothing that indicates DS will be early or even on time. But I'm trying not to think too much about it. For now, I'm just going to relax, get a pedi, and cuddle up w/ DH.

Same feelings here. Due Thursday and nothing going on... It seems like these months flew by and now these few weeks are taking forever. I just want him to be here! I feel like I may have a long labor as well... I just hope to not be induced.

I'm due tomorrow and haven't even had a BH contraction! I also know the exact date of conception and the dating u/s matched to the day so we will see how late this little man is. DH was 9 days late and weighed 10lbs, I was born on my due date and weighted 6lbs 11oz....fingers crossed he takes after his mommy a little bit!!!

Exactly. I just hope I don't have to be induced...want my body to go into labor naturally.

Yep I'm due in 3 days, Aug 4th, and no real labor signs. Just had my first BH last week. Had like 2 since. I'm not getting anxious yet Bc I know pregnancy can technically last up to 42 weeks.

I had no signs either. My original due date was August 6, but I was scheduled for a c-section on August 5. Well, the baby had other plans because my water broke at 2:15am on Tuesday morning. By the time they brought me into the OR at 7, my contractions were strong and close together. I had no warning whatsoever before this. I didn't even really have much BH. The baby was positioned super low, to the point where I could feel him right on my cervix, but he had been like that for a very long time. Hope everything goes well for you!
