An incident that occurred earlier this week with my son has left me ANGRY! I am struggling with the racism and bullying issue big time. It is our responsibility as parents to teach our children the difference in right and wrong and how to handle situations. It is NOT our job to be their best friend. Teach your children that we are ALL human regardless of our differences. Teach your children that there are consequences to EVERY decision you make. Making excuses for your decisions and actions is unacceptable. I could rant about this all day right now, but I won't. ---Sorry for the heavy subject I think I just needed a safe place to vent a little.

I am immature and tried to not like one of the younger faculty who just moved to campus. She is replacing a really great friend of mine who moved to another school. I haven't made any effort to spend time with the new girl and she is making fast friends with the majority of my other friends. Last night she went to dinner and I was being cold and distant with her. Two drinks later and I am pretty sure I love her.
I am a mean girl and I know it was wrong but...

I can't stand my brother's girlfriend. She constantly talks about their wedding and that they are looking at dates in November 2016. Did I mention that they aren't even engaged yet?

It really gets my goat when people ("noobs") come in and ask questions/look for support, get what they want and never come back nor do they say thank you. Just because it's the interwebz doesn't mean you can't practice manners.

I had a meeting a few weeks back about how I'm pretty much the office manager at work but they don't pay me like one. The results were a title change and a bump in pay. They asked me to give the other administrative assistant more stuff to do so that I can focus on other things. I've been sending everything her way so that I can surf the internet for half of my day.

I'm having a total pout-fest because H will be gone during my birthday next week, and he hasn't even asked if either a. want a present or b. want to celebrate with him.

So yeah, that makes me pissy. On my 11th birthday my family forgot until after work time (for my mom) so yeah, people forgetting my birthday is a big deal. Oh, and I anticipate people forgetting too. Yeah...chip on the shoulder.

That's not a good sign. An acquaintance of mine's girlfriend kept planning their wedding before he proposed. He had no intention of proposing, and they recently broke up. She pushed him to get married, and he wasn't picking up what she was putting down. So maybe you won't have to deal with her much longer haha :P.

@crzyforbabies - dear Lord, I hope not. Sounds like your acquaintance figured it out! She is BSC and speshul snowflayke all rolled into one. She caught the bouquet at my other brother's wedding and I just wanted to be like:

I'll end my rant there otherwise I could go on for hours!

ETA: I love spelling out speshul snowflayke!

Do you tell him you don't like her? I have two brothers, and I always let them know if I didn't like their gfs, especially the younger one. Even if they don't admit it, I probably have some influence on them. That's why I am glad my DH doesn't have sisters, because it's hard to get sister approval. Now my older brother has a lovely, kind, successful wife, and I couldn't be happier. They both have a tendency to go for witchy women.

In the "recent" past, I'd had a couple of glasses of wine and was listening to music with my dogs around after MH had gone to sleep. I was singing along as they were staring at me (note that I cannot carry a tune) when I had a BRILLIANT IDEA: I could lip sync to the song and the dogs would think I was singing and I was super talented.

Yep. I fooled them.

@crzyforbabies - oh he knows that no one likes her (and when I mean no one I'm talking about both parents, his twin brother and his wife, DH and I, and our extended families - yes, she's made even my sweet aunts not like her). We've all told him and he seems to not care. And doesn't care that she is constantly rude and throws tantrums. Seriously, one time she told us about how she keyed her own brothers' car because he had made her mad. And was proud of it.

I just hope that he wises up otherwise it's going to be a hot mess for him.

I DESPISE my sisters boyfriend. He is 32 (sis is 21), he is long term unemployed, he has a DS who he has zero custody of, he is socially inept. If it weren't for my sister he would not have a roof over his head or food to eat. DH and I spend a lot of time plotting ways to get rid of him.

I am a teacher home for the summer... and I am SO grateful to have this time with my son, I do think that in that way being a teacher is the absolute best of both worlds... but I confess that I have JUST hit the threshold where I am ready to go back. Sometimes (read - springtime when I'm really in the thick of it at work), I wish I could stay at home... but then I do it for a few months and remember that staying at home with a kid (or kids!) is really fun, but also can be really hard.

I've known DH's brother the majority of my life (and DH indirectly). About 5 years ago DH's brother wanted to go out with me and I told him I don't do long distance relationships; he was only an hour away. Fast forward 3 years, I met DH and we began our relationship with 600 miles between us...

Hmm should I even admit this on this board, well I stopped temping.....

I did it for two months at the end of school year but stopped during summer vacation. I had tons of traveling, with weird sleep schedules. And I had a teacher conference where I was rooming with one of my teachers and did not want to explain to her why I was temping. (They do not know I am TCC) Once school starts I will be back to my normal sleep/schedule so I will start back up gaian but it was just too much of a pain during June and July. I only just started trying in July and school starts back up soon so it should not be a big issue.

I really don't think anyone cares so much that people don't temp, cuz that's fine honestly, it's just the when did I O questions that drive ppl bonkers. There are lots of regs that dont temp.

I'm telling a "friend" that I'm going out of town this weekend because I don't want to babysit. I feel bad, but she literally only talks to me when she needs a babysitter, never pays, never wants to hang out with or without our kids... I feel used, and with my mom and sister that live with me going out of town I just want a stress free weekend at home alone with my DH and my boys.
