La-A. Pronounced "LaDasha".. Can't make this stuff up.
....I don't believe you. There's just no way. )
I feel like La-a is an urban legend or something. Everyone knows someone who knows someone with this name or they've heard about some one with this name. But has anybody REALLY actually met the infamous La-a???

If it exists anywhere, it would be in Flint, Mi! That's where most of the weird names I listed came from! I taught there for a while and went to school (UofM) there. It's a wild place and no one ever believes half my stories about that place because they're all so outrageous, but they're all true. It really just is that insane there!
I knew this really shy kid in middle school, on the first day of class the teacher would say everyone's full name. His middle and last name combo was terrible. Master Bates. He's parents are the worst!
I think it may be BS because my uncle likes to tell 'stories' but he claims when he was a cop in NYC, he arrested a guy whose name was spelled S-H-I-T-H-E-A-D, but pronounced Shith-eed.
Sharon Butz (pronounced Butts)...it made for a very long school career.
I worked for Medicaid for awhile, and got some interesting names and creative spellings. Realaty. Icycle (born during a fierce ice storm), Jysyn (Jason)...lots of 'z' and 'y' where there shouldn't be.
When I worked in an inner city pharmacy I would get a lot of strange names, but my personal favorite was the family where every boy in the family had the same first and last name, but with a different middle name. So, the MD would prescribe using the given first name and we'd have to guess which male it was. Good times.
I'm a teacher...the unique name craze over the last couple years has been crazy! The worst was Assaphagia (pronounced Asia?) and Twinkle...ok I get it to a point but they call her Twink! I almost feel bad...
I went to high school with a Candace Cane-- she went by Candi. I work for a judge in inner-city Family Court now and see all sorts of questionable names. Snakeeshia. Tempestuous (she went by Tempest). Twins London and Paris. Twins Da'Juan and De'Juan.
