Pool/Sunscreen for baby?

I'm pretty sure this was covered a while ago but my search feature is being stupid. We have family that have been begging us to bring the baby over for a pool day. I've been putting it off as long as I can, but I have to bite the bullet and go this weekend. LO will be 11 weeks. I'd like to try and dip her feet in the water, but other than that I'll be keeping her in the shade with her sun hat, etc. I'd still like to sunscreen her but wasn't sure if that was recommended yet?

Has anyone:
Used sunscreen on an 11 week old or younger?
If so, brand?
Dipped baby in a pool?
How did it go?

I'm so far outside of my comfort zone with this... never investigated because I was hoping not to be faced with it for a while (and I'm a really laid back parent!).

    My lo is 14 weeks old and we have spent almost every week end at my parents pool. Dd has even been in when the water has been warm enough and she loves it! We bought her a uv protected swim suit and a really good sun hat. We also invested in a uv protected tent (60 bucks at Walmart) it's a pop up tent so it's easy to set up and folds down really small. We just put her in her bouncy chair inside of it with a few toys and she will play happily or sleep in it. We haven't tried sun screen yet ....

    My pedi said a small amount of sunscreen is okay. She said try and cover their skin with a shirt, and hat as much as possible and put sunscreen only where necessary and that in small amounts they should be fine. This was at our 2 month appt. Also I have dipped LO in the pool when the water felt warm but never more than 5 mins submerged in the water just for my fear he might get too chilly. After a little dip in the pool we sit in the shade and watch big sis play in the pool ☺️

    I also did see a awesome swim wrap (like a mobey) a lady was wearing at the pool the other day. It would be perfect so you can walk in the pool get your legs wet, and or be able to follow around other kiddos! All while being hands free and it seems to cover baby pretty well so they won't get burned!

    My LO is 12 weeks old and we are in a major heat wave here in Ontario. Our home doesn't have a\c but we do have a pool. DS has been in swimming with us twice and I'm bringing him in again today. He has a 3/4 length swimsuit and hat that he wears and we just block him from the sun with our bodies mostly. He absolutely loves it. All smiles!! Our pup is very excited that he's in the pool with her too hehe
    I brought it up at the doctors and he said as long as babe isn't fussing then he's ok with the temp and we are good to go. Another little tadpole in the fam! So glad he loves it.
    I also think a little sunscreen is better than a sunburnt, for what it's worth.

    I second the tent, sun hat, shade, etc. mentioned by pp. We also have car seat fans from BRU that we use lots of places other than car seats. My pedi recommended a titanium dioxide formula sunscreen (I forget why, sorry) and to try it out on a small section of their skin first before lathering it all over them. Also, she recommended no more than 10 min in the pool as they can't regulate their temperature very well at this age.

    Freaking Ontario is brutal right now. I wish we had a pool, but luckily we do have central air in the house so DS and I have been hiding out in here keeping cool

    I had the same worry! We just bought a lake home last month and it sucked staying inside. Babies can get sun burned from the reflection off the water so we avoided the boat all together. Last week she was 11 weeks old and I said enough was enough and I put sunscreen on her. She was fine! I tested it on her foot the day before to be sure she wouldn't have a reaction. I'm so glad I did it! I also bathed her right after we were done outside. I used the Alba brand for babies. I found it at whole foods.

    Our pedi said we can use sunscreen and bring DD swimming at 2 months. He advised not using sunscreen higher than 45 as the higher SPFs have more oil in them. I picked up Aveeno Baby 45 but haven't used it yet as DD will be 2 months this weekend. I wanted the Honest sunscreen but they were sold out at our Target.

    I took my DS swimming at 8 weeks, sunscreen and all and he did great. I gave him a bath right after to get it all off right away but he loved it. He was also wearing a swim shirt from buy buy baby and a hat to protect him from the sun.

    I took DS swimming last week (he was 10 weeks) with a hat and a swim diaper. We stayed in the shade the whole time so didn't wear sunscreen. He lasted about 20 minutes before getting sleepy and then was exhausted the rest of the day! It's been 100 degrees for weeks here and he definitely loved cooling off in the pool.

    We use Babyganics sunscreen on her and she's been fine (she is 9 weeks). I don't put her in direct sunlight either and use a sun hat as well. She HATES taking a bath so I was apprehensive about the pool. I started her in an inflatable pool and I held her and just put her feet in and slowly but surely after a while she would sit in the water with me holding her. The water was warm as well and I think it all depends on the baby.

    I took 10 week old DD swimming for the first time at my parents today. She loved it! It was so cute. She wore a sun hat and I kept her in a loose onesie.. also my pediatrician said that the honest company's sunscreen was okay to use so I put a little on her arms and legs. I only had her in for about 10 minutes because even though the water wasn't freezing, I was worried about her getting too chilled.
