Ok, so I work in customer service so I come across some really weird names but today has been the day to top them all.

Just talked to a lady named Payshintz (Patience?) and her sons name was Mario Gras (not Mardi Gras)...like seriously? These are just too weird for me to make up.

Ever come across some really odd names?

  • Lmao omg!!!!! Payshintz! Hahaha!!!!!
  • I will never forget a customer I had about two years ago whose last name was Hefflefinger. I shit you not. Of course, that's not the same thing as willingly naming your child something ignorant. But still funny
  • I've heard of a little girl named Storybook. Another favorite was Xcellence. These poor children...
    [-(
  • Jaquar.. When I asked her to repeat it (hoping I heard her wrong.. She said "like Jaguar with a Q" :/
  • My parents do a lot of genealogy work and two of the oddest in my family history were Atlantic Ocean and Experience Desire.

  • My great grandma's name was Oka.  I always thought that was unusual.

The last name Horniblow (students where I teach).  And a boy named 'Jedeye'.
  • At work recently we had a patient who's sibling were named James and Semaj (James backwards - for a girl). And a repeat patient has the name Amiracle Blessing. The best part about that is that when she was born, her mom was on drugs and the baby wasn't expected to live and she named her, wait for it... Never Again. When the baby did live and she sobered up, she had it changed. But you have to go through a lengthy process to get it legally changed so she spent a good while with the first name.
  • I could list dozens from my previous job as an inner city teacher but some of the most memorable were:

A girl, first name Precious, last name Love.
    Dymond (like diamond).
    Omunique (pronounced "I'm unique")
Korde' (like cord-day. The apostrophe is not a typo)
    Pajamas (pronounced Pa-jam-ay)
  • My grandpa went to school with a Urra Hog and Imma Hog. . Wtf?!
  • When I was a bank teller the Johnson family all shared a bank account.  One customer on the account was Harry Johnson.  We actually had a list of unusual or funny names. Another was Female pronounced femme-all-a.  Her mom liked the name the doctor gave her.
  • My best friends mom taught a child in Sunday school named Formica Dinette.

  • My SIL is a L&D nurse in Asheville, where people are already a little wonky. She gets the best names! My favorite recent one is Noble Sir. First name Noble, middle name Sir. It cracked me up.
