  • I didn't sterilize mine either!

  • @katyertl no you are not!!! And if you are I'm right behind you :)
We have a million packets of the paci wipes....... Don't use them really.
  • Is it possible to pull something in your breast? My boob has been so achy today. It happened after I fed LO in the side sleep position (which I'm a novice at). I'm pretty sure it's not a clogged duct bc there's no lumps and I'm able to empty it
  • I'm not taking anything. They told me to take my prenatals for 4 weeks pp, but I only took one lol. Oh well :/

So I got one of those bottle sterilizers at my baby shower and I ended up using it all of maybe 2 days and it broke. So baby is approaching 4 weeks old and I still sterilize bottles/nipples after each use (I've been boiling them, which is time consuming) and I'm still boiling the nursery water (which originally I wasn't going to, but one the jug it says that the FDA recommends to boil the water because it's not sterile)...so I have been doing this every day for almost 4 weeks. Some of my mommy friends say they never even sterilized their bottles or anything, so I wanted to see what you ladies did or are doing? When is it okay to stop sterilizing and just hand wash or pop in the dishwasher?

I've never heard that about the filtered water! Boo, now I have to look.

I boiled everything prior to the first use, but we have hard water so we ended up with mineral deposits on the bottles and parts (ew). I was skeeved so I went out and got a microwave steam sterilizer.

I sterilize the nipples after every single use, and the bottles and bottle parts get sterilized every 2 or 3 washes. I know people that sterilize after every single use, and some that haven't since the first initial wash.

We are using the Dr. Brown's bottles, so there are about 1,000 extra parts. Do what feels right for you :)

I have a question - you know when you get new bottles they all say to sterilize by boiling in water for 5 minutes? Must you use boiling water or can you use a microwave sterilizer instead? Cause I just used my microwave sterilizer for them and I finished and felt a wave of doubt for not boiling them. Ugh, mommy doubts

Pretty sure it's interchangeable. I boiled ours, but we have such hard water I was dealing with major mineral deposits, so I switched to the microwave steam sterilizer.
  • How many diapers and wipes do you go through?

We go through four packs of 23 diapers a week. This is marked as a "month's supply" on Amazon. We are about to finish the "six month supply" of wipes after just one month.

    Is this crazy?

We change LO every time the blue line appears. This could be four diapers in an hour and a half. Is that wrong?! I don't want him to get a rash. Also, he cries when he has a dirty diaper...

We are right about where you are. My LO screams to high heaven when she is even the littlest bit wet, so we are going through tons of diapers and wipes as well. Well worth it in my opinion to have a happy, dry kiddo, but I feel like I can never have enough diapers in my diaper bag!
