Obviously a boy??

Hey ladies! Yesterday I had an appointment for a 14 week check up. I asked the U/S tech if we would be able to see the sex of the baby and she replied with a "No. It's too early" she insisted. Though I've heard of numerous mothers finding out at 14 weeks and even before. So she showed me the perfect little baby and all of his limbs and organs. Then gets down to the legs and bottom and stops right in the middle of the U/S and starts laughing. She said "Well... Are you GOING to find out the gender?" And I said yes! And then she says "Well, it's early so don't quote me 100%, but THIS is what's between the legs!!!" And shows me this photo! She just couldn't get over it and laughed forever. I'm certain that it's a boy and I think she just felt kinda silly after insisting that it was impossible! What do you think?

No no no - people don't like gender predictions - come on girl you are going to get hounded! I also would love to know opinions on gender but they won't change or predict what baby will be so no point - that's why people hate them so much. I hope you get what you want or better still a healthy baby - I'd be over the moon with that!

Moms who are finding out earlier are going to elective ultrasounds where the techs are using higher-resolution machines (in general). The resolution on their equipment is MUCH better than that of my doctor's office, which only really cares about the health and not the sex (thought that's a bonus at 20ish weeks). We're having an elective u/s next week because I'm impatient and they're cheap.

I'm so excited for you! My clinic has a new machine and I was surprised at the quality of some of the ultrasounds I saw posted. I can't wait to hear about your experience.

[rhetorical question] If you're certain it's a boy why do you want our opinions? Eta I can't see anything clearly in that picture. But if you trust the tech & you're certain, I hope there aren't any surprises later. My sister's baby girl at the 16 wk ultrasound turned out to be a boy at the 34 wk one.

To answer your question, definitely looks like a boy to me! We found out with our son (now almost 1 year old!?!) at 14 Weeks 3 Days and the image we saw looked very similar to this! Congrats & best wishes!

She isn't asking us to predict the gender.
She's certain it's a boy, and the title of her post "obviously a boy??" indicates that she is asking, based on the provided u/s picture, if it is clearly male genitalia showing.

People can learn to answer the question posted or don't say anything at all. No one thinks you're cool by posting a stupid Gif or a rude comment. It's unnecessary. Feel free to tag me and yell at me or say something else that's just rude, but I won't be looking at this post again. Toodles.

They say "it's too early" but it depends on the machine, how the baby is cooperating etc. I guess a boy (: Don't be buying blue baby gear yet though, I would wait until you are 100% positive.

No one asked for your observation. These ladies are super supportive and helpful when there is a need to be. Life outside the Internet is also not glitter and rainbows so why people come here thinking it will be is beyond me .

OP isn't asking for support, she's asking for opinions on whether male genitalia are clear in the u/s. Why people get butthurt when someone's opinion differs from theirs is beyond me.

I honestly don't think anyone but the tech can give you a stright answer on this. When people tell you they don't know or not to expect too much, you should at least be polite even if you choose not to listen.

PS the turkey butt looked the closest to me! Where the heck did you find that gif?! It's awful!!

I did not bully anyone and having a differing opinion is not bullying. OP asked for an opinion I gave one.

No one is being a bully! Do you know the actual definition of a Bully? It is someone who misuses or creates a power embalance and repeatedly hurts someone using that power embalance. It's people that falsely call "bully" that teach our children an incorrect and unfair definition this causing, students, teachers and parents a lot more trouble than necessary. You don't have to like everyone opinions or reactions, you're welcome to be verbal about that, but you have no right to call them a bully!

OP could've also easily taken 10 minutes out of her day and looked into this board more and realize posts like this do not go over well.

OP, if you're hoping for a boy then I hope that's what your baby is, but I would definitely hold back on buying all blue for the nursery until finding out for sure.
