Re: Daily Symptoms, Questions and Concerns - July 25

  • So, is sleep a thing that still happens? Or am I just completely missing out?

  • I'm a little sore between my hips. I start a new week every Sunday, and by the time Thursday rolls around I start getting round ligament pain and some stretching and pulling happening.  I associate it with moving on into the next week and continued growth from baby.  I also worked out and did hip flexors yesterday, so that could be it too. Headaches seem to be my norm symptom these days.  Mild and usually occurring at night time. I get all teary eyed at almost anything I see on TV these days.  Literally...I was crying while watching the show Chopped on Food Network because the people were so happy and passionate about their line of work.  A COOKING SHOW! I felt so pathetic. =P
  • I'm experiencing a lot of pain right above my pelvic bone, all the way across my lower belly-feels like my hips are going to come out of place. Is this just more stretching? I've never made it this far in a pregnancy before so everything is new; and a lil scary.
  • @tammiv01 very norm rolling into my second trimester I had it real bad to the point it hurt to walk and get up. Told my midwife about it she said it's very normal.
  • Lately I've been getting shooting pains in my nipples. I noticed my boobs stopped growing and they've just started back up again but when they were first growing I didn't experience the nipple pain. It actually hurts pretty bad I've tried squeezing to see if it's milk or something well colostrum I'm a FTM and just have no clue.
  • Good morning everyone! We just did our Saturday ritual as our new week begins and read about our baby's growth :) yesterday I really didn't feel much going on, I feel like week 15 I felt a lot of pulling and stretching while week 16 was very quiet. Hoping that's okay :) starting week 17 today!

    Nope, not for me

  • Two weeks free of morning sickness, but it returned today :-( 16 weeks today.
  • Haven't felt too nauseated the entire pregnancy (I know. Lucky me.) but woke up in the middle of the night with just an achy stomach. Up high, not uterus related. Went to a Prenantal yoga class and forgot about it a bit but every time we folded forward I was hit with a wave of nausea. I had big plans for today but I just ended up back in bed after class.

One concerning thing that happened (it's pretty graphic- brace yourself) was when I went to the bathroom this morning I felt a blob of discharge slide out of me. I looked in the toilet and it was white which wasn't scary but all clumped together and a little smaller in diameter than a dime, which was a little scary considering my discharge is usually liquidy even if there is a lot of it. Then I panicked and started googling mucus plug. Which was gross but some pictures looked a little like what I saw in the toilet. So now I'm terrified. Only 16 weeks! Hopefully it was nothing.
  • Worst sleep ever last night. Had to work today so went in and then puked up my breakfast as soon as I got there. I can't complain too much cause this is maybe the second time I threw up this whole pregnancy. But now I'm just hungry!

@tammiv01 - I am having same discomfort and I had it last pregnancy too. It seems more intense this time though.

@emililyha - I've had that before too. If it is your mucus plug it will regenerate. If you are very concerned, I'd rec calling ob/mw.
  • 13w1d...to everybody saying they don't sleep...do you not sleep at all or do you just go to sleep late and you have to wake up early? Because for about a month now I have consistently been sleeping about 2am-12pm and getting in 10 lovely pregnant hours of sleep no problem.

I have an itchy spot on my leg. Either it's a hive or we have some sort of bug in the house since I didn't leave the house yesterday. I'm praying it's a hive...

  • @CaraBoonie - It's like 6-7 hours of resting with my eyes closed but not really sleeping. A lot of tossing and turning, realizing I'm on my stomach and I have to roll over, resisting the urge to murder my starfish-sleeping DH, boobs just feel like swollen fresh bruises, the whole thing is just a giant annoyance.

I hope you just have a hive too.
  • @arose3eb I got a snoogle and it doesn't allow for tossing and turning, it basically locks me into place...and I put it as far back on the bed as I can get away with and DH will roll over, bump into it and not be able to get into my space, muahaha

So nauseas. The doctor took me off of zofran because it was causing migraines. Now I'm stuck feeling like poop 24/7. I cry trying to get ready for work while throwing up and feeling like my head is being banged against a wall. I don't have the strength to do anything. I feel so lazy and sick. I hate it. I hope this doesn't last too much longer. I'm trying so hard to enjoy this pregnancy :(

The Snoogle is the BEST thing DH has EVER bought for me! I was having trouble sleeping, but I've slept wonderfully ever since I got it.

How far along are you? I know exactly how you feel, I felt like that for 8 straight weeks. I'm now at 15 + 2 and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Puking is only random and maybe once a day, headaches have eased. Keep doing your best, as my bff says " you're in survival mode" for the first tri.

@CaraBoonie I fall asleep fine but wake up often to pee or for no reason, and then wake up super early even when I can sleep in. Once I'm up, I have a hard time falling back asleep. I woke up at 4:30 am yesterday (went to be around midnight) with a headache. Today I woke up after 6.5 hours of sleep. It's rough, I almost never get 8 hours.

ETA: Also I'm already shedding like crazy?!

  • @claireloSC Ugh, sorry dude, that sucks. I could sleep forever, and since I have no responsibilities this summer, I have been, lol. There are very few nights I've gotten less than 10 hrs...

  • @CaraBoonie OMG, I'm so jealous. I keep waiting for this "magical second trimester" to happen. Maybe in a few weeks... Do you still have MS and all that? I know we have the same due date.

  • @claireloSC I never REALLY had MS, I had a week of intense queasiness around the 6-7 week mark, but then my doctor put me on Diclegis and I've been fine since, I just get a little nauseous and/or light headed if I don't eat every hour or so. I'm hoping 2nd trimester comes with a burst of energy and I STOP needing 10 hrs of sleep to function, since I only have about a month left of this before I have to wake up for work at like 7am and stay alert until like 8pm (student teaching and evening seminars after).

  • @CaraBoonie Welp, glad to know you feel tired and stuff too! Hopefully we both feel better in a couple weeks. I just feel so lame not wanting to do anything but eat bland food and lay around.

  • @claireloSC agreed. I'm living on boxed pasta with jarred red sauce. I feel 12 again.

I am 15w4d I haven't caught a break. Since 9 weeks I've been sick. Some days worse than others, but the zofran helped so much. Now I'm trying to push through and it's hard working a job that involves standing all day and dealing with people face to face. I'm so drained and I feel like I look so sick all of the time. The headaches just make it all worse because my head feels so heavy.

ETA: actually, sick since 5 weeks, 9 is when it eased up and then 12 is when it got worse again

At 16w feeling a lot of stretching/pulling/pain in the stomach and pelvis, a little bit of mild menstrual like cramps too, which is a little scary.  Nice to read others are having some pains so its normal-ish.    Back and legs killing me from all the standing of a busy day at work today.
  • Soo sick today. Sickest I've been my whole pregnancy. It's so nice outside and all I can do is lay on my couch and run to the toilet to vomit. Plus this is the one day a week DH and I have off together, so that's kind of annoying as well. We usually hike with our dogs and go on a date in the evening. I'm 13 weeks and going to assume this is some sort of bug instead of pregnancy nausea. I've had a headache since 11 last night and as soon as aspirin wears off it returns. Not a fun Saturday! Hope my LO doesn't feel yucky because if this.

@SamAdams2006 , could you be dehydrated? Headache and nausea are definitely signs. Maybe try some Gatorade? If you can't keep that down then you can try some ice chips. My m/s was worst at 12 and 13 weeks so I wouldn't rule it out. Hope you feel better!

@claireloSC I am also shedding like a hairy monster. I heard that I was supposed to have luscious hair in pregnancy and was so excited to stop shedding but honestly it has only gotten worse!

@CaraBoonie just to put in my experience, it could be the Diclegis making you sleep so well. I only got on it 2 weeks ago and it knocks me out cold for a good 10 hours as well. And if I have to take another in the morning, I take a nap for about 2-3 hours.

Today has been weird for me. I slept pretty good last night with some really noticeable stretching pains right before I drifted off. Today a lot of the same stretching pains, much more painful/longer lasting than any before. Other than that, my Diclegis is making me able to not vomit every day so I'm actually gaining more weight than I prolly should be at this point (about 7 lbs at 15+6, but overweight to begin with).
And I really need to vent about my stupid upstairs neighbors. I live in a downstairs apartment and I swear if I hadn't met the people I'd think a family of elephants lived up there. I have no idea what they are doing at 2 in the afternoon while I'm trying to take a nap but it sounds like they are moving out and it happens every weekend. Like do they rearrange the house once a week?? I understand that naturally there are noises being downstairs but this is so much worse than normal. About 10 minutes ago something dropped I'm guessing and it actually shook my ceiling. I just want to stomp up there and yell at them for waking the pregnant lady up >:P
  • @cawalp Aha, that would make sense since there is Unisom in there! Good, since I plan to hopefully stop taking it soon (at 13w and have about a week left in my Rx before I have to refill and since I never vomited I think I'm gonna brave going off it at 14w and see what happens...), and definitely should be done by 19w when I have to go back to work, so hopefully when I stop it I'll be able to function on 8 hours again so that I can get to work in the mornings :)

  • @jessfragione yeah I do think dehydration has something to do with it. I haven't been able to keep anything down up until the last hour or so. I'm sipping on pedialyte and chewing ice cubes. It could be just a bad day long bout of m/s. I'm just gong to try to get as much fluid down as my body will allow before bed. Thanks!!
  • cawalpcawalp member
@CaraBoonie When you do get off it, make sure you wean off slowly. I was taking it about a week, and when I hit 15 weeks I thought I would be okay, I skipped one day and immediately woke up vomiting. I am on samples since my insurance doesn't cover it so when my bottle starts running low I'll go to one a night instead of two just to get longer use and get accustomed to not having it. I'd hate for you to quit cold turkey and have your first sickness this late!
  • @cawalp there are coupons to only pay at most $30 for the Rx by the way, if you need it longer and can't get more samples :)

@CaraBoonie I have TriCare and the coupon specifically says not for TriCare lol. It made me so mad. They won't cover that which is Category A but they cover another medicine she prescribed me that is Category C! Sometimes I don't understand insurance.
  • @cawalp Ugh, sorry, that blows :(

  • Yall :( going from not pooping at all to these past two days being woken up from horrible diarrhea cramps.... I finally took some anti diarrhea because I have pooped 20 times today I'm Sorry tmi is anyone else having this happen? Do I have a stomach bug or is this a pregnancy symptom?
  • @abbi1995 ,it could be either one. I tend to be either one way or the other. I'm so sorry it's gotten so bad for you though! Make sure you stay hydrated and feel better!
  • @jessfragione Thanks! I'm staying hydrated and resting. I don't mind running to the bathroom often but the stomach cramps were about to kill me! I hope tomorrow is better. Resting and water for now. This is my first time experiencing diarrhea with this pregnancy it was such a sudden change!
  • @abbi1995 @jessfragione No such thing as TMI with poop! haha. I find I spend most of the day constipated...and then when I finally poop that horrible hard poop...after comes diarrhea, like it was plugging me up. It's not pleasant, but at least it's fairly predictable at this point.

  • @caraboonie hahaha oh my gosh! You made me laugh. I mean luckily it's Saturday. It's rare when my bowels wake me up!!!!!! It's usually my empty stomach waking me up. But believe me I'm use to the rock hard poopies haha guess I have to get use to this now ... Joys
