Re: FFFC

  • Hello my name is _____ and I am a diet coke addict. I seriously drink way too many normally and have cut down to one can in the morning since getting my BFP. I am hoping I can wean myself off totally but we will see. I have also been drinking a crap ton of water so I feel like that makes up for the one diet coke a day. Drinking one can would be like one cup of coffee in the morning right?

Caffeine-wise, yes.  But then you're also dealing with the fake sugars that are not good and can seriously mess with your blood sugar levels.

This week I've been all IDGAF about work. And I kind of need a job so I need to reel that in. May have to do some self-imposed website blocking during work hours.

So true! I am really hoping I can cut them out all together soon! I knew it wouldn't be good if I went cold turkey.

  • I may have faked ms the other day so DH would skip softball and stay home and help with DD. He's in the AF and has to do so much extra shit all the time. I had ms all that week and have been so exhausted. Softball is his recreation and guy time, but I give zero fuck s about it. I just wanted a damn break and it would have been his third game that week. Sooooo sorry, not sorry DH!

I used to have a super neat-o gif that showed this (I teach phys. ed. and health), but do your research into the ingredients in diet sodas.  The chemicals they have to use to get it tasting similar to the regular version are TERRIBLE.  I say this with no judgement at all, because I know most people have no idea.  It would be better for you to drink regular soda and deal with the consequences of sugar than to deal with the consequences of everything else in diet.  It's absolutely nuts the things they're allowed to put in our food!

  • I'm supposed to be studying right now for an Anatomy & Physiology exam I have today.  Clearly, I am not.

Also, I lay around the house in my underwear because my shorts are all so tight and I don't have any maternity shorts.  My sister has my belly bands right now, and I'm just too lazy to go over to her house and get them.

  • My husband and I kill bunnies.  :(  We actually don't enjoy it at all and we both feel really bad after we have shot one, but the coyotes, screech owls and snakes are MIA the past 2 years and our bunny population has exploded.  They have done so much damage, including $1300 to my car's wiring harness that was NOT covered by insurance.  I will however swerve for bunnies and prairie dogs on the road.

No, one can of Diet Coke only has about 47 mg of caffeine.  With my last pregnancy, I was advised to keep caffeine intake under 200 mg a day.  One cup of coffee has a ton more caffeine than a soda.  And I'm with @meg_2006.  The chemicals and fake sugars in diet drinks are worse and have been studied and shown to actually increase a person's 'sweet tooth'.  Give me a fully loaded coca cola any day lol.

My FFFC?  I just ate a lot more carrot cake than I intended to... and it was amazing.

  • MIL came over for dinner last weekend and DH wanted to tell her about the baby. I told him I wasn't ready to tell people yet but really I just didn't want her to be the first person to know.
This made me actually LOL and get looks from coworkers. I would feel the same.exact.way.

I just realized I hadn't been over to the first tri board, so I took a swing by this morning.  Ugggggh.  "I don't have, like, any symptoms.  Is this normal???"  "I'm only 8 weeks...but I definitely felt the baby move!"

The whole "I felt it move already!!!" Thing is KILLING me! Ffs do your research and know what is going on with your baby then realize it makes no sense and is impossible to feel it move at this point.

This really belongs in the WTF Wednesday, but I have to.

I was this close to nut punching my husband in the car earlier.  I was having a rollercoaster moment of nausea, and I must have made a noise and grabbed the car handle, because he looks over and straight faced says "I don't think you were this dramatic the first time around."

Says the man who knocked me up.

Everyone keeps telling me to "take it easy" which is killing me because I have ZERO choice in my 60 hour weeks right now. This has also led to a terrible diet.

Side note: being diabetic I have to say I will always choose diet over regular since the actual sugar in a regular will have a lot more affect on me than the chemicals in a diet. Just a different POV. Trying to skip the soda altogether though and just drink water since it's not just me anymore.
