Idk if this is a stupid question, but does anyone ever have their husband or SO in the room for these?? My husband comes to every appointment, but I haven't had any exams so didn't know what is considered normal. He probably wouldn't come in with me anyway unless he knew it was customary. Anyway, was just curious! TIA!
My SO is in the room with me when I have checks, he always scoots the chair around so as to not be staring directly into my danger zone lol.
I had one at 36 weeks (still long and closed) but have refused since then. I may let her at 39 weeks just to see what's going on since my BH have been increasing in both frequency and intensity over the last week. I'm scheduled for an RCS at 39 weeks 6 days, so it doesn't matter just a ton, but I'd like to know if the BH are doing anything and that is my next scheduled appt.

Same - DH is always there, but he stays by my head! He also laughs at the faces I make during the checks....
I've had them since 32 weeks because I had some preterm labor then and am a but dilated, so they keep checking for progress. Mine really aren't that bad. Like, I wouldn't do them for fun but they take 10 seconds then I move on with my day!
Mine did at 36 weeks and said that they typically do them every other week after that, but that she wouldn't be offended at all if I refused. I went ahead with the 36 week exam since I was having the group b strep test anyway, and it wasn't so bad. I don't know if I'll refuse or go ahead with another internal at 38 weeks. We'll see!

My husband was there he just looks a way or at me when it was done, plus there is the paper drap so he wasn't to uncomfortable. I like him there so he knows what's going on and is included with my experience.
Mine doesn't do them until 38 weeks. I kind of wish he had started sooner since I am already 3.5 cm and I would like to have known if it was a big jump from previous weeks or if I've been that dilated for a while.
Also in regards to husbands in the room. Mine was in there for my comfort, but I asked him how he felt about it and he didn't have any issues but he also isn't really bothered with medical type things.
My mom was surprised that I wanted him there because she said she wouldn't want her husband in the room for that type of exam.
